Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Mineral Blending Eye Brush
rated 5 of 5

I'm really liking this brush for applying color to my crease and blending it out. It's not too firm and not too soft, and I like the fact that it's cruelty free. I have other more expensive brushes, and this one gets used just as much if not more often. The bamboo handle is a nice touch too.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Eye Makeup Remover Lotion
rated 2 of 5
iuhooch625 2/5/2011 7:22:00 PM

I was really hoping I would like this product but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I like lotion eye makeup removers, and was excited to see Neutrogena came out with one - the packaging is nice and you get a lot for your money. The problem is that it just doesn't do a great job at removing my eye makeup. I have too much left on my eyes after I use this, and I have to follow up with a bit of liquid eye mu remover. I don't expect the lotion to take everything off, especially since I wear waterproof mascara, but my Physician's Formula lotion eye makeup remover takes off much more. I would recommend that one over this any day.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette - Vanity 249 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 2/5/2011 5:29:00 PM

When I bought this palette I wasn't that excited about it...the colors just looked kind of "blah" to me. Boy was I wrong, this can make for some gorgeous neutral eye looks. I like to use the middle right golden color on the lid, the bottom right on the outer v, with the bottom left on top for more intensity. The middle left is a perfect matte crease color, it's just a bit darker and warmer than Urban Decay's Naked. I love all the colors, except the matte shade on the top left is a bit chalky. IMO, these are on par with HE shadows.

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Drenched in PINK Soft & Dreamy
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 1/29/2011 1:52:00 PM

I'm really impressed with this lotion. I only picked it up because I needed to pick a free item from Bath and Body Works (they do carry some of the VS Pink line there) and I'm so happy I did. The scent really can be described as Soft and Dreamy and it does smell like similar to Pink Sugar. Best of all, it left my skin super silky and soft. The pump is a nice feature and you get a lot of lotion for the price.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning lotion
rated 3 of 5
iuhooch625 1/29/2011 1:47:00 PM

Not bad but not great. I like the scent even though it doesn't have a true cocoa butter scent. I love the big size that comes in a pump because it's just so much easier to deal with that way. I wish I could get every lotion with a pump. Anyway, my main issue with this is that I just don't think it's moisturizing enough. I probably wouldn't buy this again in the winter, but think it may be more fitting for a summer lotion when I don't need as much moisture.

Blush -Smashbox - Fusion Soft Lights & Brush Set - Blushing Pink (BCA)
rated 4 of 5
iuhooch625 1/29/2011 1:40:00 PM

Scored this off of Ebay (without the brush) because I heard a YouTuber raving about the wonderful pink flush this gives. This blush is pretty much the definition of the "glow from within" look. It gives a very subtle luminescence that is flattering and natural looking. I like the different shades of stripes - one side has brighter pinks while the other has more toned down pinks and lavenders, so it's easy to customize the brightness of the blush.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Gloss in Taffy Go Lucky
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 1/27/2011 7:57:00 PM

I'm so glad I picked this up on a whim. I think in general Victoria's Secret glosses are really nice for the price. I'm a sucker for pink lipsticks and glosses, and this is such a flattering medium true pink on my lips without any obvious shimmer or glitter. Looks bubblegum scary in the tube, but don't let that scare you. The scent is an extra bonus - has a bubblegum/taffy scent that I love. Will most definitely repurchase.

Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - My Favorite Lip Balm
rated 3 of 5
iuhooch625 1/21/2011 11:58:00 PM

This wasn't a horrible lip balm, but it didn't really impress me. I like the slight vanilla scent it has as well as the squeeze tube with the slanted tip applicator, but overall it just wasn't anything special to me in terms of moisturizing. It wears off quite quickly on my lips, and for some reason my balm became completely liquidy inside the tube, so it's extra messy to deal with. I think maybe it was in very hot temperatures for a day and never recovered. Anyway, it's okay, but I wouldn't repurchase. C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve is my HG lipbalm though, and I highly recommend that over this.

Palettes -Too Faced - Naked Eye Kit
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 12/20/2010 10:23:00 PM

I'm really enjoying this palette. I bought this after I was a bit disappointed with the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and I think these colors are much more flattering on me. These shades are definitely cool toned, but they are so subtle that I can see them working on most people. My favorite shades are Pillow Talk and Like a Virgin, which are on the top row for the day look. They are such beautiful understated taupe/gray matte shades and I have nothing in my collection similar. These are my first Too Faced shadows and my only complaint is that they are a bit powdery. I also think this palette is overpriced and I only decided to buy it with Sephora's 20% off friends and family. The UD Naked Palette is a much better deal, but since I'm enjoying these shades much more, this palette wins out for me.

Cleansers -Olay - Olay Smooth Skin Cream Scrub
rated 2 of 5
iuhooch625 12/19/2010 11:36:00 PM

I'm rarely unhappy with Olay products, but this one missed the mark for me - the biggest reason being that it broke me out. I stopped using it for about a month because I suspected this was the cause of my breakouts. I tried it again this week, and once again ended up with a couple of breakouts. Also, I fail to see how exfoliating this is because there are hardly any microbeads in it.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Intensive Nourishing Night Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 12/14/2010 9:58:00 PM

Love love love! There isn't a single thing I don't love about this night cream. I adore the scent of this - it smells so clean and comforting. The cream feels rich but absorbs quickly into my skin without feeling heavy or greasy at all. This helps my skin stay soft and exfoliated and really evens out my skin tone. I use the Olay Age Defying daily moisturizer in the day, and I've been super happy with both of these moisturizers.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 12/12/2010 10:58:00 PM

I'm not impressed with this cleanser. My main issue with it is that it doesn't do a good job of removing my makeup...which it says it's supposed to do. It hasn't irritated my skin or dried it out at all, I just think it really underperforms for the price. I'll stick with my $5 Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. Edit: I'm changing my lippies from three to five, because after I stopped using this I realized how much I liked it, and I repurchasedd. I only have to use a small amount to remove all my makeup, so a bottle lasts much longer than other cleansers.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Professional Size
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 12/12/2010 3:00:00 PM

Well I love UDPP so naturally I wanted to try this professional size out. I agree that the packaging isn't perfection, it takes some effort to squeeze the primer out. Because I read people had problems with the tube bursting at the end, I have always been very careful to squeeze the tube from the bottom rather than in the middle or anywhere else. So far I haven't had any problems...hopefully it will stay that way. The formula seems a bit thicker than what I'm used to from the original genie bottle packaging, but it performs the same.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour in Topaz
rated 3 of 5
iuhooch625 12/12/2010 11:10:00 AM

This is a nice medium taupe shade that leans more on the side of brown. I prefer my taupes to have a bit more gray in them. A good thing about this shade is that it seems pretty neutral and doesn't scream too warm or too cool, so it's very wearable. The color applies quite sheerly, and it takes a bit of effort if you want to build it up. I guess in some ways it's nice to have the buildable option, but I find it to be kind of irritating most of the time. The formula of the shadow isn't very soft and easy to pick up with a brush. This isn't a horrible shadow...I'm just "meh" about it. I wouldn't repurchase as I don't think it's worth the price.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush
rated 5 of 5
iuhooch625 12/10/2010 12:21:00 AM

I don't have a miraculous change in skin story to tell, but I do think this is a great product. I don't have any major skin issues, but I have noticed that this has evened out my complexion more. The best thing about the Clarisonic for me is just feeling how much cleaner my face is when I use it as compared to just using my hands. It definitely removes a lot more makeup and my skin just feels fresher and able to absorb products better. At this point I can't imagine going back to the old ways of washing my face. I bought the system that has a brush head for the body, but I have yet to try that out.
