Makeup Brushes -Lumiere - kabuki brush
idigdirt 5/21/2007 9:46:00 PM
This brush rocks! I have come to realize that quality tools can make such a difference in how your makeup goes on. This brush is so soft, holds the minerals well and distributes the product (VV foundation) as close to perfect as I've ever been able to come to. The price is very reasonable. Wonderful tool!

Powder -Lumiere - Veena Velvet
idigdirt 5/21/2007 9:40:00 PM
I'm 52, post menopausal & still battle acne/large pores. I am using the VV formula and my skin has never looked better. It covers beautifully, yet looks natural. I have tried numerous foundations over the years. BE was horrible on me. Pores looked like craters. I tried every kind of primer and technique trying to make it work. I got so disgusted because makeup shouldn't be that difficult! Enter Lumiere. I was entrigued because I could get samples first and not invest an arm & a leg even though Kim's prices are extremely reasonable. I have Kim's wonderful Kabuki and the makeup goes on effortlessly and quickly. I actually look forward to doing my face in the morning....something I never could say before. I can't say enough about what this has done for me!

Other -Crest - Crest Whitestrips Renewal Age-Defying Strips
idigdirt 4/10/2007 7:36:00 AM
These strips really brighten my teeth. I've never done the professional brightening at the dentist, so basing this on do-it-yourself at home products. I used them as directed I believe it was 2 weeks at first. Now I use them occasionally more often as maintenance. I watch for when they're on sale. I think these Age-Defying work better than the other Crest strips.

Treatments -Essie - apricot cuticle oil
idigdirt 4/9/2007 12:31:00 PM
I just got some of this and keep it in my car to apply at a stop light or while waiting on the kids. I like it. It's light and not greasy, but moisturizer the cuticles nicely.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences - Color Me Happy
idigdirt 4/9/2007 12:29:00 PM
I'm on my second bottle of this, which is a good thing for me as I'm always looking for new shampoos. I like the way this smells, rinses out of my hair, etc. My highlights still look good. I use the conditioner also...about every other shampoo. I have short hair that is texturized. Sometimes I buy high end hair products and then get tired of spending so much money so it's nice to find something reasonable that works well.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
idigdirt 4/9/2007 12:26:00 PM
This stuff is the worst I ever tried. My face felt dirty and greasy. Just doesn't cut the gunk & oil & makeup. I've thought of trying and oily skin formulation, but don't think I will. I have a feeling it won't cut it either. I need to feel clean, no tight, but clean. I never felt clean using this. I still have almost a full bottle.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
idigdirt 4/9/2007 12:23:00 PM
I love this stuff. I have tried other eye primers and they all felt heavy and most didn't work. I'm amazed how sheer this goes on and doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. It blends nicely, leaving no or very little color. I let it dry while I dry my hair and then apply makeup. I'm not crazy about the packaging...not into whatever look they were going for. But the product works and seems like it'll last awhile. I've had it about 6 weeks I guess.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
idigdirt 4/5/2007 7:12:00 PM
I bought a huge tub of this at Sally's after having the tube and having trouble getting the stuff out because it's so thick. Some think the tub isn't sanitary, but if you wash your hands before dipping them in I don't think there's a problem. I've been using this 2-3 times a week. I have oily acne-prone skin. This seems to tighten up the pores even though that's only temporary. It also pulls the gunk out of the pores. I'll use it to spot treat stubborn zits. Sometimes it dries them right up and other times, no....depends on the determination of the zit I guess. GRRRR! I'll put this on and do my Yoga....legs up the wall.....relax & breathe.....

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
idigdirt 4/5/2007 7:07:00 PM
I have used this for over 35 years to remove eye makeup. I've occasionally tried products specifically to remove eye makeup....but NOTHING compares to Vaseline. I started using it in high school. Dirt cheap and it works! Conditions my eyelashes at the same time. I have no wrinkles around my eyes and contribute some of that to Vaseline. A tub lasts for several years. I can't imagine using anything else when this is so cheap and effective. I still have full, thick eyelashes, which I know is partly genetic, but I'm noticing hair in general can get sparse as we get older. My lashes look fabulous still!

Styling Products -Redken - Forceful 23

Tried this hairspray on my search for a new HG. Didn't care for it at all. Didn't hold my hair. I have short, textured hair and need something to hold and give volume at the roots. This wasn't it.

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - Precision Tweezers
idigdirt 4/5/2007 7:00:00 PM
I bought these after years of looking at them wondering if the price was worth it. Wasn't worth it at all for me. I don't find these do any better or worse than my drugstore tweezers that cost much less. They don't grasp those obnoxious fine hairs that it claims. Don't see the hype about these things...unless I got a bum pair or something. I try and protect them and always put the little plastic protector on the end when not in use....but I'm not sure what I'm trying to protect.

Styling Products -TRESemme - tres two extra hold hairspray
idigdirt 4/5/2007 6:56:00 PM
I tried this after reading reviews and thought my HG hairspray had been discontinued...Nexxus Maxxiumum Hold....BTW, I'm finding this again. But TRESemme didn't do much for me. Goes on too wet for me. I like a very fine, light spray.

Foundations -Palladio - 3-in-1 Foundation
idigdirt 4/5/2007 6:53:00 PM
I was using this for quite awhile and really like it. I only gave it up after trying mineral makeup (again!). I got sucked in with Lumiere....and it's fabulous so I did give this up. But it's a great makeup with great coverage and a great price. Sally's is the only place I could find it. There are limited colors though.

Treatments -Nailtiques - Formula 1 Nail Protein
idigdirt 4/5/2007 6:51:00 PM
I don't like Nailtiques at all. Flakes right off. Doesn't last a day. I've tried this several different times...with the same results. Try Millionnails by Essie....fabulous stuff!

Eye Shadow -American Beauty - Luxury For Lids Duo in Afternoon Tea
idigdirt 4/5/2007 6:48:00 PM
This is the softest, most gorgeous neutral color! This gives a glow...not sparkle or glitter. I just bought my second compact yesterday with a 20% off coupon. I'm fussy and don't often buy something twice, but this stuff is the bomb. This is the one eyeshadow I go to most often. Occasionally I'll use others...mostly minerals. I always look polished with this. I'm 53, blonde, cool toned. This is just the perfect neutral.
