Polishes -Sally Hansen - Magnetic
hunnybunnyipm 7/2/2012 9:59:00 AM
I generally only purchase OPI because it wears the best and longest, and goes on nice. I have a few Essie's and China Glazes, and one or two Orly's (but I feel like their formula tends to get gloopy). I had another Sally color way back when and was disappointed with the wear, so I stopped buying them. But so many people seem to love them, I gave their magnetic polish a shot. It's... okay. It was actually more than the China Glaze price, hence me putting a 4 on the price. It's pretty and magnetizes (just make sure on bigger fingers like your thumb to move the magnet to get the sides). But I'm very disappointed in the wear. This morning it started cracking and flaking off - very embarrassing to have missing hunks of polish at work. Only got about 3/4 days on it - I usually get 6 - 7 days off of OPI. Used the Seche Vite top coat on it, and that's probably the only reason it has lasted this long. If it had been cheaper I wouldn't be so disappointed, but paying a "brand name" price for poor wearing polish really irritates me. I'm going back to no more Sally.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Illusion d'Ombre
hunnybunnyipm 5/7/2012 9:17:00 AM
I'm only saying I'd buy it again because I love the color so much (I have the purple-ish one). I expected some great staying power from it, but not so much. I have fallen in love with the Too Faced eyeshadow primer, and have been testing all my eyeshadow's out with it. This one falls short of some drug store brands as far as staying power and lack of creasing go. But damn I love the color and the look when it first goes on!

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
hunnybunnyipm 5/7/2012 9:14:00 AM
I bought some Artliner as kind of a lark. I worked myself up to three colors I would occasionally use. I was using gel liners because they stayed a little better. I have greasy eye lids and in the winter my eyes water a lot, so the more liquid liners would run a little. Then a few weeks ago I bought the Too Faced eyeshadow primer, which is as awesome as everyone says it is. I had the idea to put it down before I put my eyeliner on (I'm a little OCD in the order I put things on, so that switch was a big deal for me, common sense for everyone else). I put a little in the out corner of my eyes (I do a modest cat eye) and put on the Artliner. BAM! I had all day, super great staying eye liner. I think it stays great on normal people, I'm just not normal. I now have it in four colors - Smoke, Amber, Brown, Aubergine. The Aubergine tends to flake a little, but it might just be a bad batch. The Smoke is my general go-to, though the Brown might replace it (just got it over the weekend). I love them because they go on so quickly compared to gel liners in the morning and nothing beats that liquid look. Buy it, it's totally worth it!

Mascara -Too Faced - LashGasm
hunnybunnyipm 5/7/2012 9:04:00 AM
I received a sample as part of a set, so keep that in mind. It's an okay mascara, but doesn't do anything a Maybelline mascara can't do. I started buying the department store mascara's to get something with staying power, and unfortunately this starts flaking at about 6 hours. It's also kind of scratchy when I put it on (had this problem with Doll Lashes from Lancome as well). It does look nice when I do have it on, and is better than average at separating my lashes, but there are better products out there.

Mascara -Lancome - Oscillation Intensity
hunnybunnyipm 5/7/2012 9:01:00 AM
I'm on a search for a new mascara, and this is a serious contender for HG. It really separates my lashes without clumping, is easy to put on, and doesn't get on my eyelids (I've had problems with a few that do that). I think the vibration is a bit of a hoax, but I've only used it a few times at this point. Even without the vibration I love the brush and it is the best separating mascara I've used to date. *******Update******** So I like to flit around with different mascara's... and I've found way better. I put this one back in the rotation every now and then and find I'm just disappointed, which is sad because I used to love it so much. It really smears and flakes off by the end of the day. It just can't hold up compared to Kiss Me Heroine Make (which I get through Amazon). I also have a sample of Defincils that I'm working through, and that wears a ton better as well, so I'm retracting my five lippies and putting it to three. Still good, there is just better out there.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose
hunnybunnyipm 5/7/2012 8:55:00 AM
This is not a bad mascara. It's even a good mascara, but it's not a HG mascara (for me at least). I'm lucky in that I have very long, thick lashes to begin with. Hyponse is great, but sometimes it got a little clumpy. Whereas my Estee Lauder was gunky in a dried out mascara way, this would sometimes be "too wet" if that makes any sense. That said, with some cajoling I could get a great set of lashes out of it. I just shouldn't have to try so hard.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Doll Lashes

It works okay, but is a very dry formula and felt scratchy going on. There are better mascara's out there for the money, and it wasn't that fabulous.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
hunnybunnyipm 4/6/2012 9:39:00 AM
I had been using Lancome mascara's, but received some samples of this mascara and fell in love. My eye lashes have two very different textures and it's hard making them look like they belong on the same face, but this manages to give me an even look. That said... for some reason it goes on WAY better in the sample sizes than it does in the larger size. After the first four or five uses of the full size it gets gummy in the tube, and now it just flakes and looks horrible. Sample size wise it was the best mascara ever, but for what it costs I expect my tube to not turn to crap mascara after only a handful of uses.

Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Salon Technician Color Care Rapid Results Moisture Mask
hunnybunnyipm 11/9/2011 9:28:00 PM
I use in with Salon Technician Highlight Care Illuminating Cream and it has seriously extended the life of my highlights. Last time they faded and went brassy really quickly, but now I'm over a month in and they are almost as fresh as the day I got them done (it's red, and that really struggles to say in my hair). I use it every time I wash. It's a little pricey, but my hair is super short and the conditioner is really thick so I don't need a ton.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Salon Technician Highlight Care
hunnybunnyipm 11/9/2011 9:23:00 PM
This is FANTASTIC. I had some red highlights put in my hair a few months back, and after a few weeks they became really orangy and brassy. I got them redone a few weeks ago, and decided to invest in some high quality products to try and make it last. Well, this is it! I only wish I had found it before my last set got all orangy and crappy. Every time I wash I use the Salon Technician Color Care Rapid Results Moisture Mask as my conditioner and then I put this in before I blow dry. My hair is shiny and the color looks great, even a few weeks later. This might not be the most cost effective solution - I just cut all my hair off so it's fairly short, but if your hair is like mine and sometimes struggles to hold color, this is the combination of products to try.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon effects
hunnybunnyipm 7/21/2011 1:24:00 PM
Wow! These are great. I did the Hounds Tooth pattern and it lasted 18 days. Yes, 18 days. Now it did wear a little bit around the tips of my nails, but the pattern is very forgiving of that (I don't think you'd get as long out of a solid color). I figure they're about the cost of an average manicure, but lasted a lot longer. I will be checking them out in other patterns for sure. My one suggestion is to have a pair of cuticle trimmers on hand to help with those imperfect corners.

Looks great but gave me a rash. I switched to Maybeline's brand, and while their color isn't as great as this one (to me), I don't have dry skin on my eyelids.

Shampoo -Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo
hunnybunnyipm 3/17/2011 2:28:00 PM
It seems pricey, but lasts forever. Pros: If I put it on at night, it will absorb a lot of the oil in my hair (I am a total grease bomb) AND that "dirty scalp" stink. The bottle (I get the big one) lasts forever and it has a very subtle scent to it that cancels out other smells, if anything. Cons: It does leave build up on my scalp, and it eliminates oil but not so much other product. It also kind of gets everywhere if you're not careful and you have to keep up on washing your brushes with it. I have one dedicated brush for this product, but some will get on my round brushes. Overall: Second best dry shampoo out there (Blow is wonderful, but leaves less residue, but it leaves me with dirty scalp feeling that makes me come back to this). If you put it on at night, the only REAL drawback is some of the residue that will end up on your scalp and clothes, but it won't give you that "dull" look a lot of dry shampoos will.

Polishes -OPI - Monsooner or later
hunnybunnyipm 10/26/2010 2:17:00 PM
Great orangey red color, super versatile. The brush keeps popping off the black section, but probably bad luck more than bad quality. Still knocked down packaging because of it though (I've had this happen on two other OPI's). But fabulous color - pack it with me in case they don't have it when I get my nails done :)

Lipstick -Boots - No 7 Sheer Temptation Lipstick

I have the red, I think it's Smolder or something along those lines. LOVE IT!!! It's a great shiny red that isn't too red or too shiny. In short, perfection. Lasts about two hours, faded but not bad three. If you're looking for a good red without going too bold and/or something always work appropriate this is your color.
