Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Velvet Amber Blackberry [DISCONTINUED]

I got a sample vial as an extra in a swap, and man, do I like this! It's just right, not too heavy, not too sweet. I don't think I'd like this as much if it were spicier/more oriental (that's the amber, right?). It reminds me a little bit of Chanel coco, which I wore 30 years ago, but not as heavy. I would definitely buy this.
Bright, sheer coral just didn't do anything for me (now I know why I usually am drawn to pinks and berries and plums). Worse, it wasn't any better than the $10 creme blush quad I got from Camera Ready Cosmetics that had a coral tone that was pinker and more natural and flattering than this one. My advice, skip this one.
Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for eyes- smoky brown

I really liked this eye pencil at first. The color is just right for my blue eyes and fair coloring, enough to make my eyes pop but not overpowering. What makes me not want to purchase again is that you have to apply quite a bit of product for a strong enough color payoff, and if you make the mistake of over-swiveling the barrel to see how much product is left, you may end up like me, unable to get the product back in the container. I had to toss a product I had only used a handful of times. That really ticked me off.
Mascara -Chanel - Cils a Cils Lash Building Mascara

Bought this tube on Beautyencounter.com and I am wondering if this product is d/c? I don't like it as much as my other Chanel mascara. The tube is cylindrical and fatter than my other mascara, and the brush is fairly large, which makes it tricky for thin, sparse short lashes. It doesn't work as well as my other chanel mascara or the Lancome and Dior and Aucoin products I've used before. Won't be buying again.
My first CD lipstick! I think the color would look beautiful on anyone. I'm fair, lips are fading as I creep into middle age (my favorites are MLBB pink and berry tones). I really like this lipstick.
Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - bioInfusion Color Care Conditioner

I should have realized when the second ingredient on the list was cetyl alcohol that it would be heavy and waxy on my fine, color treated hair. It wasn't expensive but I wouldn't bother with this one again. My hair felt like it had a coating on it a day after shampooing.
Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - bioInfusion Color Care Shampoo

Meh. It's nothing special. I bought it in a 3 oz. size since I had never tried the brand before, and Idon't think I would bother again. It's no better than a store brand or discount brand. I did like it better than the conditioner, though.
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black

No. Un uh. Don't believe the comparisons to MAC Fluidline. It's a cheap eyeliner with a too-soft/sticky consistency that smudges like crazy and is nearly impossible to remove. The brush is completely useless. I would buy this for my teen daughter to practice tightlining before I would buy her a MAC or BB shimmerink. As for me, back to the expensive stuff.
Although this is a pretty good concealer (I got mine in "Sand", a good match for my NC15 skin), it did not hide a blue nevis on my cheek that I figured has about the same pigmentation as a tattoo. Sadly, I have yet to find a concealer that will completely hide these close to surface blue spidery veins. I think saline injection is pretty much in my future.
Got a sample sized tube of "Charm" on a website that sells samples, GWP's and closeouts. I would never have thought a color that is peach/brown in the tube would look good on me, an NC15 who usually wears cool pinks and berries. I'm sold on Chantecaille lippies. The colors are beautiful and the texture is just right, not too sticky or stiff, but it stays on for a while.
Beautiful peach-nude that looks good on anyone, including my NC15 face. One of the few peach tones I can wear. On some this would be a MLBB, for me, it's a neutral, sophisticated, somewhat sheer lipstick with just enough pigment for a color payoff, but not enough to make me look like a corpse.
Blehhh. I haven't bought ds mascara in a very long time, and now I remember why. Nothing special about the formula and the brush is the worst for my short, sparse, thin lashes. I can get away with using this on the upper lashes, but the ball end is so big and unwieldy that I end up with huge patches of mascara between, above and below my lower lashes. Used once and tossed. Never again. I'm sticking with KA or Chanel or Lancome
I love/hate this product like no other. The rich brown shot with gold makes my blue eyes pop like nothing I've ever worn, and the stuff stays put and doesn't melt and migrate like waxy pencils or powder liner. However, I have been trying to figure out how to apply this so that it looks natural (not too thick a line) without getting half in my eyes and imbedded in my contact lenses, and the other half dusted under my eyes. I'll let you all know when I figure it out. In the meantime, I wear it after I've sacrificed about six q-tips cleaning up the mess.
Cleansers -Yes To Carrots - C is for Clean Gentle Exfoliating Facial Cleanser
ellenmarie1959 5/22/2010 12:25:00 PM
Meh. I was intrigued that the first few ingredients were water, sea water, carrot juice and carrot seed oil, and a ton of botanicals, but I just don't feel like my face is really clean when I rinse off. I feel like there's a residue. There are better drugstore facial cleansers out there.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Eyeshadow - Suede Sensation

Got in swap so I'm glad I didn't pay for this. Odd dry texture, a relatively high level of sheen but no color that I could discern. Perhaps I'll try it as a base before I toss it.
