Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Plum Purple
anisha12 11/18/2011 12:20:00 PM
I was lemming a purple eyeliner for a WHILE now and when I saw elf, i thought i'd give it a chance! Buttt...I hated the texture of it...it was dry and rough to feel...even sticky at times!..not the usual smooth creamy texture of cream eyeliners. Not enough pigmentation at ALL and on my NC 43 skin, it barely showed up cuz of that. I wouldn't repurchase for the amount they charge for this stuff in my country! Not worth it at all and not a good liner in general. Maybe I could use it as a cream shadow? :S No idea...

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Midnight

I thought this was supposed to be dark blue...when I finally used it I saw it was a not-so-black-black! I hated the texture of it...it was dry and rough to feel...not the usual smooth creamy texture of cream eyeliners. I wouldn't repurchase for the amount they charge for this stuff in my country! Not worth it at all and not a good liner in general.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Turmeric
anisha12 11/15/2011 10:15:00 AM
OH.MY.GAWD!!! I'm 26...and I can finally tell the difference between bacterial and hormonal acne! Yea yea, now u guys will try n tell me its caused by t same organism, blah blah...but the treatments are permanent based on the cause! And all this while...i had occasional hormonal acne that disappeared with spot treatments from Clinique and wat not..with stuff lyk benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, etc. BUT when I had a recent breakout...after trying out stuff at a makeup counter, i got cystic painful pERSISTENT acne that was taking over my LIFE! I cudn't look at my face in the MIRROR anymore! My face was all red, bumpy, painful...yuck! Enter: Turmeric powder. Its pathetic how I'm Indian and i didn't think of this earlier...an English woman reminded me! ;) Turmeric is a great antibacterial...but I know its strong too...what old wives tales suggest is, u mix a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder with 1 tablespoon of ground chickpea flour (called 'besan'/ chana ka aatta' in India) in water..make a thick paste and apply it over the affected areas. Preferably in the evening. OMG..the VERY NEXT DAY, all my acne were flat and there was no redness/ pain!!! I am SURPRISED at how GOOD this stuff works! Have been using it for 3 days now and my skin IS BACK TO NORMALCY with some dirty scars that need tym! I would SIGN MY NAME for this review! Its dirt cheap and 100% effective for bacterial acne! Caution: u may experience some slight burning/itching/ even rash the first tym you use it...but with continued use, those effects vanish and it jus cleans your face. Also, Use it only once a day cuz too much of a good thing could cause drying of your skin.

Misc Beauty Tools -Gillette - Venus Razor
anisha12 11/14/2011 3:02:00 PM
Used to use this before I moved on to Schick Quattro...which I find is a lot easier to use. The Venus razor gave me cuts at curves and didn't have enough of that lubricant patch that I seem to like for smooth clean shaves of my legs. I think its very similar to disposable 2-bladed razors in its performance...

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A
anisha12 11/12/2011 7:14:00 AM
I was prescribed this by my dermatologist a few months before my wedding cuz I had acne prone skin with a couple of bumps here and there on my face. I was asked to use this every night and wear sunscreen in the daytime cuz it it a photoreactive compound. I did everything that he said...my skin cleared up slowly over 2 months...I don't know if it compares to the NORMAL tym it takes for skin to heal...and since he also gave me an antibiotic to take every morning, I thought that was t reason for no new acne forming. Around 2 months into t treatment, I was out in the sun...doing some wedding purchases,...and I felt my skin was burning! I got home soon only to see my face was BURNT esp in the areas I had applied more Retin-A!!! Maybe I am just one of those super sensitive people...but I HAD A WEDDING COMING UP and I actually had to stop using that and I used a whole lot of home remedies and makeup to fix my face before D-day. Being a chemical burn, it took me around a year for my skin to renew itself..I still have a light scar but nobody can notice it till I point it out. I wouldn't repurchase...not even for its anti-ageing benefits!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Half Baked Eyeshadow
anisha12 11/10/2011 7:26:00 AM
My first and only gold coloured eyeshadow and I love it! Its highly pigmented and with a tiny amount you can create an entire opaque gold eyelid lyk in ads! I luv doing smokey eyes with this and Smog from UD...It really suits brown skin tones (NC 43/ BB Honey) and lasts long even on oily lids.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Smog
anisha12 11/10/2011 7:11:00 AM
My absolute favourite Urban Decay eyeshadow!!! I can't find an exact dupe for this anywhere! I love the colour cuz it compliments my brown NC 43 skin tone really well and it works great for a night-time smokey eye! Even for the conservatives, you can just use this one colour all over your lid and it will look even and shimmery! All you brownies, try this one out! :)

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Sin Eyeshadow
anisha12 11/10/2011 7:08:00 AM
For all the brown girls out there, this is a good highlight colour but that's ALL. Don't try and use it all over your lid, it'll make you look lyk a ghost! It has a frosty finish so use a small amount els your brow bone will look lyk an opaque powdery silver! I have better highlight colours so I would not repurchase this.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Toasted
anisha12 11/10/2011 7:02:00 AM
Good pigmentation, great colour on my NC43ish skin! I use it all over my lids for a daytime look with eyeliner and i'm done! Its stays for a lonnng tym with UDPP underneath. It has a frosty look that I don't find with many other brands having a similar colour. Would repurchase!

Pressed Powders -Cover Girl - Clean Pressed Powder Fragrance Free
anisha12 11/10/2011 2:59:00 AM
All the ladies in my family were hooked to this pressed powder for a good number of years cuz it was available in our skin tone (Indian brown), came in a strong case, the puff was soft and felt good against our faces and of cors, the powder itself didn't damage our skin. When I grew up I realised it settles into my pores a bit although it doesn't look cakey as such. Its a nice powder but we've all moved on to better products...we DID use this for a long tym! :)

Liquid -The Body Shop - Oil-Free foundation
anisha12 11/10/2011 2:54:00 AM
The colour recommended to me was too orange for my skin! I got it when my skin was covered in acne and I was using antibiotics and BP. This just accentuated all the bumps and the flaky dry skin and didn't do much for acne...but I don't think it caused any either. It was easy to blend but had a very matte finish...I like a more natural look so won't be getting this again. HE foundations work better on my sensitive skin.

Treatments -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Blemish Stick
anisha12 11/10/2011 2:35:00 AM
Save your money. This didn't work for me at all. It gives you that tingly feeling when you apply it and all that jazz...but the next day AND the next and so on...you will barely notice a difference...and new acne will keep popping up. The applicator is alright...the formulation is useless.

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Face Wash
anisha12 11/10/2011 2:16:00 AM
Tried this after hearing good reviews a few years ago....it just caused my skin to become more dry till I was battling two problems: dry skin AND acne that didn't go away. Boots has got a better tea tree formulation that works for me. This just didn't cut it and I had to give it away. I don't recommend this particular formula.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15

Not all that moisturizing...vaseline works better than this anyday. SPF 15 is a plus but not worth it for me.

Eye Shadow -MAC - All That Glitters
anisha12 11/7/2011 3:23:00 PM
This was an MUA lemming purchase for me! I already own the Naked Palette from Urban Decay so I was just looking for a nice e/s for my entire lid from MAC for use during the day...I swatched it at the store and it looked really good...but when I got home and applied it on my lids, i felt it made my lids look ashy with shimmer on top! Its a little too light for my brown skin tone...can use it up over time..but won't be repurchasing.
