Treatments -Cutex - Gel Polish Remover
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 4:00:00 PM
I used this a few years ago when they first came out with it. Now, I can't find it ANYWHERE! (If it's available near you, PLMK! Thx! :-) It did a very good job removing n/p and I loved the fact that it was a gel formula and more importantly, in a pump bottle so there won't be any spills. It should be widely available b/c the concept is very ideal...esp. for me. I once spilled n/p remover on a wooden dress table and the areas in which I spilled it on started to peel off...ugh, it did not look good; I basically ruined the darn thing =T

Fragrances -Skindazzles - Room Linen & Body Spray in Succulent Strawberry
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 3:52:00 PM
Surprisingly, I didn't like this as much than I had thought. I was looking for a true strawberry scent and I didn't expect to find something as bitter and kind of ...sour smelling. I only tested it twice and that was enough for me to confirm my outlook on this. Up for swap it goes... =T

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea body Lotion
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 3:17:00 PM
I'm a bit surprised that it got a lower rating overall as I really like this scent and lotion. It smells sweet almost like candy or dessert but with a touch of sweet florals. I find it very feminine and I always get compliments by the opposite --- ~.~ on how good it smells. The lotion overall is very nice too, it's rich enough to moisturize my stubborn skin. ^^

Lip Gloss -mark - Electro-Lights Lip VitaGleam - Restart
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 3:10:00 PM
I normally don't wear clear l/g's but this was def. an exception. It's slick, VERRRRRRRRRY glossy, yummy smelling (grape, mmmm lol) and just a great, overall gloss on-the-go. When I'm in a rush, I just pull this out and glide it on and within 3-5 seconds, I have extremely pouty, glossy smackers. BBBBOP! ^^

Lipstick -Jane - Lucky Star in Star Shine Mauve
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 3:00:00 PM
In two words, Star Shine Mauve is an 'awesome shade' for a lippie!! It totally reminds me of Neutrogena's Dreamy l/g but in lipstick form with more noticeable silver shimmer. If you like to wear plums and mauves then this is the shade for you, it's so pretty! I should get another tube for my Aunt as she would love this color! :D

Lipstick -Jane - Lucky Star Lipcolor in Starlet Rose
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 2:50:00 PM
A great lippie if you're looking for the sheer rosy red & gold shade. It feels a little gritty when applying it on but the gold shimmer is actually not chunky at all. It looks much more refined when applied than it does in the tube. The lippie is also a bit numbing when first applied but the feeling subsides within minutes. I just wish Jane made a l/g in this exact same shade. The only other lippie that I can think of off the top of my head is Shiseido's Ruby Lustre gloss, which is $20! While this...is just $3 or so, not bad! :)

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 2:42:00 PM
I have this in the tube form. It glides on smoothly and not waxy like how ChapStick feels on my smackers. It's also a bit minty and refreshing but the tingling feeling subsides within minutes. Given that, I do not find the sensation painful in the least. I use this nightly and wake up to softer lips in the morning. Overall, it's a nice lipbalm. I'm glad I got this as an extra. =D

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Ultra Healing Lotion
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:57:00 PM
Contrary to most reviewers, I find that it did an "okay" job. My skin is very fickle and I guess this moisturizer was a bit too thin for my skin as it starts to dry up again in around 2-3 hrs or so, give or take. I don't use it on my legs anymore as I found something better, Olay Quench. However, I did find that it works better on areas where my skin...is "thinner" such as my upper body (i.e. arms, hands, shoulders, etc.) and not as thick like my legs. It's not something I reach for often now that I've found something better but it's an alternative when I want something...lighter and not as rich. ;)

Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - Soul Owner
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:50:00 PM
I bought and tried this upon recommendation but I'm not so sure I like it. It does serve its purpose for a couple of hours but now that I'm wearing sandals more and more, I find that my feet will revert back to its stubborn nature at some point; dry, callous and bit..firm. Soul Owner also has a smell to it (eucalyptus and lavender oil) but it smells more like Chinese medicine to me...or so I've been told =T . Once I'm done with this tube, I'm going to try Kerasel (cream), in which I've heard is a bit better...

Skincare - Face -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Therapy System
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:40:00 PM
I have had acne for 5 going on 6 yrs. now and it still has not subsided. When I came across this I thought it wouldn't even have the least bit of an effect on my acne b/c most of the ingredients (mainly BP & SA) don't do much for my skin as it did...4-5 yrs ago. With that said, I'm not even sure if it's as effective or effective on me at all. I still use the system daily (to finish it up I guess) except for the Day lotion which I find to be totally icky on my face and no relief for my thirsty dry facial skin at all. I do, however, use the "Overnight Acne Control Lotion" from time to time and surprisingly it does shrink some of my zits and pimples. It's also not drying at all but it does leave a peeling aftermath but that's ONLY b/c the zit/pimple is drying up. I'm still on the quest for finding something much better and much more effective but as of the moment, this will suffice until I come across something else to try.

Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Body Lotion Extra Dry Skin
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:28:00 PM
Once I saw the tv commercials, I knew I had to go and get it sooner or later, it looked really enticing, rofl! :D It's been a couple of weeks since I've been using it and I must say, I'm quite pleased. I have very, very, very stubborn dry skin and this leaves it soft & smooth for most of the night...about 6-8 hrs tops for me. Even though it may not sound as much, that's a lot coming from me as other lotions don't even come close, more like maybe 1-2 hrs at MOST. The smell is ...'okay', although I could use it without the scent but at least I can tolerate it. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Sally Hansen - 18 Hour Protective Hand Cream
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:22:00 PM
I've heard about how well SH's hand creams are so I decided to give it a try and I'm very, very glad I did. I wouldn't say it's a staple...but it's getting there hehe ;) I use it everyday and it does leave my skin instantly smoother and not greasy or sticky like other hand lotions. I also wouldn't say it smells like creamsicle even though it does have a very citrusy smell...not as strong though, and that's a good thing (for me)... it's not too overwhelming; more like you just peeled an orange. HTH! :)

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
RubyGemZ 5/17/2005 1:12:00 PM
Overall, I found this moisturizer to be 'okay', or maybe a lil' bit more than that. My rating for it is actually between a 3-4. On some days it goes on nicely and on some other days, it doesn't. If you have dry skin like me, I'd strongly suggest that you really exfoliate your skin when cleansing beforehand because it can and will accentuate dry patches esp. if you did not exfoliate well enough. It does, however, give a really nice sheen with very subtle gold shimmer which I find to be one of its upsides. The smell doesn't really bother me, once its dry and fully rubbed in, the smell fades away. I wouldn't say I'd use it again...not until a while as I'm confident there's something better out there but we'll see...

RubyGemZ 4/18/2005 9:22:00 PM
Let me tell you, I am so pleased with this gloss...I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. I may once I finish up with the tube but I just know I'll come back to it at some point or another b/c the color is just amazing and it shows up gorgeously on my lips. OoOoOoOhHhHhH!!! I love it soooooo much! I am so So so So glad I got a chance to swap for it! :D

Skincare - Face -Evian - le Brumisateur
RubyGemZ 1/22/2005 7:19:00 PM
I've been using this on and off for the last couple of years but more so now than ever since my sister conveniently got me a large spritz can from Taiwan. =) Honestly, it doesn't do much for my skin if used alone. I don't think it will for anyone else for that matter...just MHO. However, since my skin dries up fairly quickly after cleansing, I find this a must to quickly dampen my skin right before I apply moisturizer. I have fairly dry skin so they'd be no point to use nothing in between cleansing and moisturizing. With that being said, I use the le Brumisateur to 'tone' and prep my skin before moisturizing. It seems to work for that purpose. I can also see myself using the trial size after a workout since it helps refresh my skin. =)
