Blush -MAC - Cremeblend Blush - Optimistic Orange

this is so BEAUTIFUL!!!! I visited MAC the other day to get Melba actually, my sister in-law was rocking it during her last visit XD anyway when I got there I noticed the new spring collection was out and it included this item, it's a creme blush that screams ORANGE in the pan. not peachy, not pinkish with a dash of orange, no it's BAAM orange! it applies really smoothly and not oily or anything. extreme good quality for creme blushes! I love orange so I gave it a shot, it goes on so vibrantly and gives my cheeks a lovely youthful flush (I'm NC15 with warm undertones) I even compared it to melba by placing each of them on one cheek, comparatively it looks like that cheek had nothing on it because the other one was flushed and vibrant with colour. three other ladies stopped what they were doing and came over too look at the blush comparison in the store and asked for the tester too XD I've been using it the past few days and all my female relatives noticed the colour ^.^ LOVE IT!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Kidlike 3/13/2012 8:53:00 PM

this product is a must have for me. I have very dry skin with pink undertones so finding a foundation that ISN'T super yellow and maximizes my pores has always been a challenge. what I love about this MAC foundation is that I found the perfect colour for me!!! with the slightest pink undertone for a more natural look. it's also very light and applies nicely with a kabuki brush it really does take less then 2 minutes to apply it with that and looks so professorially done too, the photos turn out so good with it!!! this stuff really lasts since only a drop or two is enough for full coverage I think it's worth the price. one thing I noticed though is that it applies nicely with a kabuki brush but never with a stippling or regular foundation brush, those did the job with my previous foundations but applied this one either too heavily or unevenly. I'd STRONGLY advise you to invest in a kabuki brush if you own it!

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer

I was watching a make-up tutorial when mary-lou came up with her lovely champagne shine, I loved the effect she had and decided to commit to her, now this girl loves to play hard to get so it took awhile before I manage to find her but let me tell you it was worth the trouble! not only does she give you a healthy inner glow but also leaves your skin feeling lovely, never too shiny but a subtle beauty that brightens up your face. Mary-Lou is a keeper!!! I dab her on my cheekbones and inner corner of my eyes and suddenly my face lights up with a youthful glow :)

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Destiny Precision Angled Liner Brush
rated 5 of 5

when I first got this brush it was a little stiff, what I did was swirl it in olive oil a bit then wash it with baby shampoo (I do this with any new brush just to be sure it's clean) and that all. this is my favorite eyeliner brush, it makes the whole thing hassle free and super easy to get that perfect thin line. I loved this brush so much I bought two more back up ones once I saw CS having a clearance and removing it from the site, I really had no use for my other liner brushes after discovering this gem. to those who gave it a bad review you are supposed to wash the brush before using it, it's on the label, also use the side of the brush and the point only for the high precision areas like the inner corners of the eye. UPDATE:- my new CS order came in and it included a back up brush, I kindda understand the negative reviews now! the brush they sent me this time was really stiff and FAT, there is no way you'd get a thin line with this! this batch had a the numbers (242) on the end and is a HORRID brush, guess my previous gem came from the good batch and will remain my one and only =/

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - DUO eyelash adhesive
rated 4 of 5

I got this with a makeup order for $5 and I must say it makes applying the lashes so much easier then the cheaper drug store brands! also they lasted all day so for me this product is a win. it lost one lippie because I didn't like the smell and the tip made it difficult the apply the glue at first but I finally got it with a little practice. the one thing I'm unhappy about is that only inglot sells this glue here and it retails for Dhs60 so that $16!!! =/ I felt robbed when I saw the price online!

the formula is weird... it applies unevenly and the brush really doesn't help. they have a wide range of colours but I wan't be buying from them again if this is the quality they hand out =/

Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat
rated 4 of 5
Kidlike 2/27/2012 12:29:00 AM

I tried a few top coats so far but they were either too goopey, took forever to dry or simply horrid! a few days back I had a mani and the lady used this product, for once I was good to go in 5 minutes without having to worry about the polish coming undone!!! also five days later the colour is still holding up with a lovely shine and zero chipping so I went back to the spa and bought it. it's my fav, so far! it got 4 stars because unlike other top coats it applies really thinly so I usually give my nails another layer of it twice a week.

Eye Shadow -Sugarpill - Burning Heart 4-Color Palette
rated 5 of 5
Kidlike 2/25/2012 12:48:00 PM

it finally arrived!!!!! that seemed to take forever but that was because I was so excited about my order. the colours are super pigmented and I just love the red and yellow. it's not easy to get pure primary colours since most stores mix in something to give them different undertones. not sugarpill!!!! red means RED and it's a screamer!!!! this is great because you can apply it with a heavy or light hand for a more wearable look. the one thing I don't like is a packaging. the design on top is lovely yes but in the cardboard pan it looks so tacky and for the price you could get better I mean $34 for 4 eyeshadows isn't really cheap. =/ overall I'm happy with it but I won't be re-purchasing any time soon as I hope these palate would last awhile and that Sugarpill will come out with some new colours :)

Tinted Moisturizer -Unlisted Brand - Home made Tinted Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
Kidlike 2/25/2012 12:36:00 PM

I've been hearing alot about tinted Moisturizers but after trying a few I wasn't impressed. also most of them cost the same amount as a normal foundation anyway. so I came up with my own recipe, take the regular amount of moisturizer you use in your finger tips and add to it one drop and I do mean ONE PIN POINT DROP of liquid foundation, mix them together and apply to your entire face. the trick here is to make sure that your moisturizer and your foundation are BOTH either water or oil based. don't do this if they each have a different base as they won't mix and it'll look awful. after that just apply your concealer and loose powder very lightly to secure it. this makes the make up last all day without greasing up on you plus it gives the feel of natural skin + the glow of the foundation and minimizes the flaws. ever since I've started doing this make up routine people keep complementing my skin not my make-up which is super cool!

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Lady Speed stick, Stain Guard

I've been using this for 2 years now, highly effect product and does everything it promises PLUS it actually smells good! one thing I've noticed about it is that it doesn't handle heat well, I left one home during the summer and when I came back after a month it was unusable. P.S. temp over here reaches 50c in the summer so not really the products fault.

Blush -MAC - Blush Ombre -Azalea Blossom
rated 4 of 5
Kidlike 2/18/2012 11:20:00 AM

lovely colour, I fell in love with this in the store and bought it along with the more intimidating vintage grape. it's a cool toned pink that gradually goes into purple. great pigmentation on my NW15 skin and very flattering. the pan is alot bigger then MAC's regular blushes. unhappy with the price but it's a MAC so expected that to happen, what really disappointed me was that MAC over here now has a new No exchange policy, even if I hadn't used the product and changed my mind about it I'd be stuck with it =/

Blush -MAC - Blush Ombre - Vintage Grape
rated 4 of 5
Kidlike 2/17/2012 9:33:00 AM

I had to visit 3 different MAC stores to find either one of the Ombre blushes. finally I found one that had both and had to go back and forth between Azalea Blossom and Vintage Grape (I'm NW15, warm undertone) this blush looks darker in the pan however is heavily pigmented so applied lightly it gave me such a lovely unique look. you really do get 2 or 3 blushes with this one and can easily be used for a more dramatic winter/fall look. the shimmer gives my cheeks a healthy glow without going overboard which I like. comparing it to Azalea blossom I'd have to say it's warmer and will give you a more dramatic look so I use it more in the evening when going for a formal event. I thought the price with a bit much but the pan is alot bigger then the usual blush so it'll last, and you really are getting more then one colour. I like it alot but not sure I'll need to repurchase anytime soon

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Iced Lotus
rated 5 of 5
Kidlike 2/8/2012 1:42:00 AM

I can't believe I've over looked this for so long! I got a mini compact with my purchase and it looked meh in the pan so it was thrown into my dresser drawer not to be seen again for a few months. I have warm undertones and usually go for matted peachy natural blushes however I was doing a few cool looks and needed pink so out it came for a try run... ok WOW!! I love this! the colour is a cool never over the top pink with just a subtle hint of shimmer, my friends all noticed it and complemented me on it. the colour lasted all 7 hours of my work day without the need for touch ups which I'm really happy about. if you are looking for a cool pink give it a try, you won't regret it!

Eyeliner -Shiseido - Automatic Liquid Fine eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
Kidlike 1/25/2012 10:40:00 AM

I got this over a year ago and since I was a beginner at the time I thought it was my fault that I could never get that lovely thin line... WRONG!!! it was this thing's fault! now don't get me wrong the idea is great, the packaging is like a fountain pen and the ink/liner is inside of it. just a few clicks and the colour comes out. however there is no way to apply a thin line with this. the pen dispenses too much product the first time but dries out super fast so the line is more of a connect the dots thing XD I would advice against getting this, the price over here is $50 and for that you can get two really nice liners from MAC (fluidline is my fav.) or if you are not confident of your liner skills get the one from illumasqa, it costs half the price and it's N00b proof! even my 12 year old cousion found it easy to get a lovely none smudge line with that!

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum
rated 5 of 5
Kidlike 1/20/2012 8:47:00 AM

first of I'd like to say I'm a person who doesn't believe in primers regardless of where on the face you are supposed to apply them. add to that the fact that this tube costs $40 over here made me really hesitate to try it. however I finally caved in and gave it a go. this primer applies white which can be annoying if you make a mistake but lets you know that there is something on your lashes so you're doing it right.... after a coat of this I applied my usual Mascara and the difference was really dramatic!!!! my lashes looked thicker and longer, the curls held! my Mascara isn't flakie so I can't comment on that but there was ALOT less clotting and my lashes didn't end up in the sink when I remove my make up later in the evening. this tube is pretty expensive but it actually gives noticeable results, I'd recommend it fore Mascara lovers!
