Highlighters -MAC - Barbie-Pearl Blossom
Juicy_TNA 4/2/2007 7:21:00 AM
Initially, I was going to get Pearl Sunshine b/c of all the raves about it on the boards. But when I got to the MAC store and tried it on myself, I found that Pearl Sunshine brought out the yellowness in my light olive skin. It looked extremely unflattering. Pearl Blossom on the other hand, was a beautiful silver pearl pink that gave just the right amount of sheen to my skin. Now that I've used it a couple of times, I can really say that I don't regret buying this. This works as a very light wash of pink on those au naturel days or a finishing powder on top of blushes. I'm head over heels in love with this BP!
FYI: NC25, dark brown hair/eyes

Foundations -Max Factor - Colour Adapt
Juicy_TNA 4/1/2007 8:25:00 AM
I was having a foundation emergency tonight. I had to go to a party and I had no foundation available to me at my bf's apt. Luckily, I found this out of his mother's stash of MU. To my surprise, I really liked it! It goes on ultry silky smooth and dries to an unbelieveably airbrushed finish. And yes, it lasted ALL night. I couldn't believe my luck! And I've never even used Max Factor before! I'm going out to get my own bottle of this tomorrow. Given time, if it still performs like this on my skin, I'll have to boost this to HG status. LOVE THIS =^.^=
FYI: NC25, dark brown hair/eyes. I use this in 70 Natural.

Moisturizers -Marcelle - Aquarelle Aqua-Matte Hydrating Fluid
Juicy_TNA 3/31/2007 6:02:00 AM
I am seriously in love with this. Where has this moisturizer been all my life? How could I have not ever known about this wonderful lil essence of oil-free moisture that has been available all along at my local Canadian drug stores?? This smooths on my skin and moisturizes it so well without clogging up my pores or leaving an oily-residue. It absorbs and dries to a smooth silky finish on my skin. It has been great under my sunscreen and makeup. LOVE LOVE LOVE <3
This costed me $18cdn at London Drugs. It comes in a sanitary lockable pump bottle so I can take this with me if I ever travel.
I believe Marcelle is only available in Canada so US folks will probably either have to get this through eBay, CP, OA, or swap. Trust me, it's so worth getting :D
FYI: Oily skin w/flakiness around the forehead and tip of the nose. Very prone to blackheads and white heads. Occasional pimple (usually only around the time of the month)

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Brush - short handle
Juicy_TNA 3/31/2007 5:55:00 AM
(Long handle)
After my Lancome foundation brush broke on me, I was lucky enough to receive this in a swap from a fellow MUAer. This brush ROCKS!!! It's 10x superior than the Lancome that I'd been previously using. I just cannot rave more about this brush. THe hairs used on this brush has a shiney smoothness to it that I have not seen in any other brush. And it's shape is nice and flat so foundation always goes on smooth and streak free. I don't know why there are so many reviews for the Lancome brush when the BB one is SO MUCH BETTER. I <3 this. If it ever wears out, I'll definately re-buy.

Palettes -MAC - Velvet 6 Smoked Eyes Holiday 2006 Palette
Juicy_TNA 3/28/2007 9:27:00 AM
This is the first time I've purchased a holiday palette from MAC. This one in particular, compared to the other shadow palettes, is spectacular. Completely sold out in Vancouver, I had to grab one of these babies off eBay for $10 more than its original price. Alas, it was so worth it! I'm not much of a shadow collector so this was a GREAT item to add to my collection. I could never pull off the perfect smokey eyes like other girls cause I don't really know how to apply eye shadows like the pros. This collection has solved my problem. I can now do a gorgous look for a night out. I love this!! It isn't an every day item for me, but on the weekends, this baby does me good ;-)

Highlighters -MAC - Iridescent Powder - Belightful
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 7:04:00 AM

I'm very happy with this. Belightful gives me the luminous glow that I couldn't achieve before. It picks up light exactly where I want it to and accentuates the featues on my face. I like applying this over top my blush on my cheekbones.
FYI: NC25, dark brown

Eye Shadow -NARS - Mediteranee Duo
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 7:01:00 AM
Absolutely gorgous!! I made sure to apply this lightly (just a dab will do) with an eye shadow brush. The result was breath taking. It really brightened and opened up my eyes. I first sweeped the light golden beige shadow over my entire lid. Than from my lash line to the outter crease I used the firey orange shadow. I lined my eyes with my BB gel liner in granite, arching the end for a slight cat eye effect. The end result of my look lasted ALL DAY. The color didn't fade! I'm definately a NARS convert!
FYI: NC25, Dark brown hair/eyes.

Blush -NARS - Lovejoy
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 6:58:00 AM
This is one of the blushes that was included in my NARS Afterglow/Warm palette (the other was Deep Throat). I personally like this more than Deep Throat. It's a bronze blush that looks great on me. It nicely defines my cheekbones and meshed with my nude lipsticks, I look really sophisticated :)

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 6:56:00 AM
This is one of the blushes that was included in my NARS Afterglow/Warm palette. I think it's nice but nothing out of the ordinary. I like that the NARS blushes are so pigmented that only a gentle swipe is needed for a beautiful dash of color. However, I won't be repurchasing this color.
Update: I use this in conjunction with Lovejoy and it looks great~ a makeup artist friend of mine took one look at my palette and suggested that i use both blushes at the same time. Worked for me!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 6:51:00 AM
I purchased this based on all the reviews here on MUA to use as a brow highlighter. It's not flashy and never looks over done. It's just enough to give you that bit of definition. I wouldn't mind if it was a tad stronger (so it'd show a bit more) but overall, I'm content with the way it is. Probably wouldn't re-buy if I find something better which I probably will.

Eye Shadow -NARS - All About Eve Duo
Juicy_TNA 3/27/2007 6:49:00 AM
My NARS Afterglow/Warm palette came with the AAE duo. For the looooongest time I had the biggest lemming for this. I've read so many rave reviews on this and it really sounded like a must. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. I have NC25 skin and this barely shows up on me. The satin shade turned a kinda ashy peach on my lids and instead of brightening my eyes, it seemed to pull them down and make me look tired. I do like the shimmery shade more - it's really nice all over the lids. I use that side more than the satin side for sure.
Update: This duo is slowly growing on me. I can now relate to what others have said about this being a no-brainer shadow for those hurried mornings. I'm upping this by one lippie.
AAE duo is the pans on the top left

Tinted Moisturizer -Tarte - Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Mosturizer (Smooth Operator)
Juicy_TNA 3/11/2007 7:32:00 AM
This was a huge disappointment since I had a lemming for it for the longest time and waited till now to only be completely unsatisfied with it. I purchased this in Veil and even though it matched my coloring, it left an orangy yellow undertone to my skin. YUK!!
I also do not see any shimmer or skin brightening particles in this. For the money I paid for this, it was such a let down.
FYI: NC25, dark brown hair/eyes.

Makeup Brushes -Lancome - Foundation Brush
Juicy_TNA 3/8/2007 2:09:00 PM
Initially I loved this like everyone else. However, after less then a year of using this, the metal part detached from the wooden handle while I was applying my foundation! Unbelievable.
I'll be getting another foundation brush, but I definitely won't be re-purchasing any more Lancome brushes.
UPDATE: I am now using the Bobbi Brown foundation brush. Comparing between the two brushes, the BB brush is far superior in quality. Application is 10x smoother and streak-free. If you haven't purchased a fndt brush yet, I highly recommend that you check out the BB fndt brush ^^

Top/Base Coats -OPI - Ridge Filler
Juicy_TNA 3/6/2007 10:56:00 PM
This stuff is awesome, i love it! when i first got it i didnt see what the big deal was. but now that ive had it for a good 6 months, i learned to come to appretiate all the good stuff this base coats does. first, it helps fight off the yellow-ness by giving it a sheer matte white coat. it smooths out the nails for the application of polish. and it is a great base for milky polishes so that you won't need to apply as many coats.

Polishes -Chanel - Bengal
Juicy_TNA 3/1/2007 11:22:00 PM
This is gorgous! I'm surprised there aren't more reveiws for this on MUA! The color is a salmon pink with micro-shimmers of red. It really suits my nc25 asian skin. My sister also pointed out that this would look great on a PPP gal, and I agree~
The application is smooth and it took 2 coats to get it semi-opaque (its pretty much completely opaque, but if u look closely, u can still see a bit of my nail's underline).
The only gripe I had with this was the brush. Though it didn't create any problems for me, I'm so spoiled by OPI's ProWide brush that it frustrated me how puny the chanel brush was. I had to dip and redip to get enough polish on my nails! Sigh... other than that, everything about this polish is great.
For anyone who has OPI's Heart of Gold or something similar to it (clear polish with gold shimmers), try applying it over Bengal. I got gorgous results and i think it looks even better with it!
