Polishes -L.A. Colors - Color Craze - Transformer

I give it a two for interesting colors, in this line, but they are all so watery and thin. I, too, had to apply THREE coats and I still see the nail. Goes on easily without streaking. Not bad for a buck at the Dollar Tree, but Wet n Wild and N.Y.C. are WAAAAAAAAAY better quality. Oh, and yes, the color comes out different from the bottle. Disappointing. Thought I'd like this cosmetics line, but it really is cheap and tacky. The eyeshadows look lovely, but disappear as soon as you apply them.............The lipsticks, really lipglosses, are so thin and not pigmented at all and they disappear as soon as they're applied. SKIP this line.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Cantu shea butter conditioner

Like the smell of this, and yes, I'd buy again until I find something else. I expected this to be more moisturizing than it is. It is thick and a bit hard to get out of the bottle. I have straight hair that is coarse, dry, brittle, easily breaks, falls out..........Basically, terrible hair, thanks to a thyroid prob. Anyway, this didn't weigh my hair down or cause it to be greasy, but it didn't do much moisturizing either. However, this is better than most others claiming to moisturize, and I've tried many! Also, the smell didn't linger in my hair. And I didn't have any problems with tangles. Just a standard conditioner. It works better when used along with Cantu's leave in conditioner. Got mine at Walgreens, for $4.99. For daily care, this is a bit above average for me, right now, anyway.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - cantu shea butter shampoo

I like the smell of this. It isn't very moisturizing, I kinda thought it was a bit light for my hair. It didn't lather very much either, but then, I didn't lose A LOT of hair either! Most shampoos are doing that lately, and really, I can't lose any more hair or I'm soon to be bald. I guess I should check out some wigs right about now...........Anyway, it doesn't leave my hair greasy or limp. My hair feels and looks cleaner than it has in a long time. So, I guess it's working, just wished it was much more "moisturizing". I have straight hair that is coarse, dry, and brittle. It breaks easily and falls out every chance it gets. Finding a good shampoo and conditioner is a struggle, but this is better than a lot of others claiming to moisturize, such as Finesse or my old fav, Mane 'n Tail, or anything from Suave, or V05. I could name a crap load of others, but I'm having a brain fog moment and can't remember. I used this along with the conditioner and then slathered on A LOT of the leave in conditioner. Hair feels soft and smells nice. Stickin' with this trio until I know of anything else! Got my trio at Walgreens, where each was $4.99. NOT BAD!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Treatment

LOVE the smell of this stuff! I have straight hair that, because of a thyroid prob, is coarse, dry and brittle. Well, the little hair that I DO have left! This stuff works very well for me. This doesn't leave my hair greasy, and I apply quite a bit! Even used it as a lotion and it works well! GREAT stuff at an even GREATER price. Haven't had problems using other hair products, such as styling aids, either. I didn't give it a five, because it is light feeling, when I really expected something deeper and heavier. Maybe that's a good thing, since deep and heavy things do make my hair limp and greasy. I got mine for $4.99, along with Cantu's shampoo and conditioner, both for $4.99 each at Walgreens. Anyway, my ends feel really soft! I'm LOVIN' it! I'd post its ingredients, but it'd be too long, but it does contain shea, soybean oil, propylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, panthenol, lanolin, collagen, soy protein, corn oil, and a bunch of other thingies that are really too long!

Fragrances -Avon - Timeless Spray Cologne
rated 3 of 5
JenJenofAz 7/22/2011 7:20:00 PM

I like this, NOT love it. It is a mature scent, notice, I didn't say an old lady scent, that is powdery(A LOT, to me, anyway!), a bit strong and harsh in its opening. It is a warm, spicy, oriental-floral. I get a bit of an ambery incense, as well. It seems as if I hear a lot of, "All Avon perfumes smell alike." Well, NOT so with Timeless! It is different from others in Avon's lineup, as is Candid and Odyssey. I seem to prefer Avon's "oldies" to their newer offerings. From a catalog, it says it has notes of fresh greens, sheer florals, jasmine, patchouli, vetiver, amber(ah, so it is in there!), oakmoss, musk. A unique offering from Avon. Prefer it on the drydown.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme
rated 3 of 5
JenJenofAz 6/11/2011 8:18:00 PM

For an eye/neck cream, this is SUPER! However, on my face? FORGET IT! I was SO oily on my forehead and broke out, guess where? Yep, my worst area, the CHIN! I had 3 new lil' buds poppin' up to say their "HELLO!" Not a bad cream at all, especially if you need lots of moisture. I find it a bit too heavy for my VERY oily skin. Others, may like it, especially those with dry skin. Anyway, as an eye/neck cream, as it's best used for, this works better than many others I've used. My skin is soft and supple, appearing a bit younger. It smoothes things nicely! So, yeah, I'd buy again, but just for an eye/neck cream. Got mine @Walgreens for $11.99. Also, I like that it does not have a scent. Can't stand scented thingies near the eye! And I too don't have a problem with dipping my "CLEAN" fingers into the jar. Not a biggie!

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
rated 2 of 5
JenJenofAz 4/29/2011 11:39:00 PM

I purchased the HUGEST bottles of both, the shampoo & conditioner. The set smells nice and I only have to use a tad of the shampoo as it lathers VERY well. I've used this set for a couple of weeks now, and it's better than A LOT of other drugstore shampoos, but it does leave my hair dry. I'm gonna be running out of the conditioner WAY before the shampoo as it's thick and kinda hard to squeeze out(as I have the HUGE bottle, so it is a bit awkward handling in the shower). However, I find that the conditioner isn't very moisturizing, but instead, it's light. I had applied it as a leave in, even after conditioning in the shower. NOT bad stuff, just a bit too drying for my hair. Better than most other stuff by Suave. Hair and scalp DO feel clean though. And I don't have greasy hair or an itchy scalp. So.............Until I can find anything else that I may like, then yes, I'll stick with this, but for now. UPDATE: Hair is falling out A LOT with this. WAAAY TOO DRYING! Gonna use it up as a body wash. Bumped down from a 3 to a 2. LOVE the smell! I find that starting out, Suave shampoos/conditioners are okay, but as the weeks roll on by, forget about it! My hair ALWAYS turns into a dry tangled mess! Suave really has stepped up their game, but it just doesn't work for my hair. I guess I NEED TONS of moisture.

Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - Healthy Hoof Lacquer
rated 3 of 5

@Sally's I spotted this and other nail strengtheners, chose this, and I'm pissed that I didn't go with my gut and pick up the other stuff! This does well as a strengthener, IF it stayed on! In one day, it has all peeled off! I guess, you have to wear gloves for EVERYTHING! However, I LOVE the shine! I applied one coat over bare nails, maybe it works better with nail polish???? I'll check it out. My piggies are in MUCH better shape, as it's still nice and glossy. No problem handling the bottle. Not a bad try at $3.99. Also, on my bare nails, I didn't notice any color, just a mega SHINE. SO.............I like it for the toes, not my hands(yet!). Oh, and I also didn't find it quick at drying, almost too watery-like.

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk in Brown Black
rated 5 of 5
JenJenofAz 3/22/2011 4:56:00 PM

Okay, I just used the #32, I think it was, Dark Mahogany Brown, which I liked, but I just prefer this shade better. It isn't too dark for me, since my hair has red in it anyway, so this is just a step darker than the above, #32. Prettier though! I have fair skin that is yellowish and hazel eyes. This is the darkest I can go as black is too harsh. I also color my hair LESS when I stick to this shade as it's close to my natural color. NEVER had a problem using this brand. AND I love that there's no stinky fumes with this. I tried Balsam, but couldn't stick with it as the smell was too much, not to mention the color was TOO dark. The shades with Colorsilk are realistic and natural. Because I have a thyroid problem, I've lost most of my eyebrows. I now can fill them in with a slightly darker pencil and they finally look natural! With lighter hair shades, I seem to go light on the eyebrows and they never look natural. Anyway, GREAT stuff and an amazingly cheap price! I agree, it DOES fade, but it turns into what I had expected of #32: A dark reddish brown.

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 3 of 5
JenJenofAz 3/17/2011 7:16:00 PM

I bought the cheapo generic version @Dollar Tree, and so far I'm liking it. It can be greasy, but I use little. I find it to be gentle and softening. Even used it as a lotion. Light floral scent that isn't bothersome at all. I don't know what happened, probably my man's job situation that has me stressed out, but I broke out with a tiny rash on my left cheek. And the stuff I've been using, antibacterial soap, baking soda scrubs, Mint Julep masque, Sea Breeze, it all seems to have dried out my skin, making it sensitive, I guess. Anyhoo, this cream has soothed my irritated skin. So, it's working for now. My skin is SO soft!

Foundations -Rimmel - Clean Finish
rated 4 of 5
JenJenofAz 2/27/2011 3:10:00 PM

I have this in True Ivory. It's a good match(now the ivory concealer-NOT). This is thick in the bottle, so now I understand the need of the mini scoop. However, it goes on light, for me, and feels silky on. Seems to last a bit longer than other foundations that I've used, such as those by Cover Girl & Maybelline. I really don't think this is a bad drugstore brand! And the price was decent. I do find the color selection a bit too light, though. Anyway, for the VERY oily gal, this isn't bad. I use this along with Hide the Blemish concealer and Stay Matte powder. And until anything better comes along, I'll be sticking with this trio. Got my trio @Walmart. Nothing over $5. Oh, and for those who've said it didn't blend well..........It didn't for me, at first, either, until I moisturized well. UPDATE: I moisturize WELL and lately, the foundation seems to flake off as I apply it................I find it works better as a concealer when mixed with Rimmel's concealer stick. Other update: I now use only this as a concealer as Rimmel's concealer stick just does NOT work at all! I gotta bump this up to a 3! Works BETTER as a concealer than foundation, as I'm still VERY oily! I guess everything is gonna do that, but this is just too light as a foundation and wears off VERY quickly. Find it best NOT to moisturize before use(cuts down on the oiliness). Did I say it's amazing as a concealer!? I use it from the cap and around the lid, and this covers just about ANYTHING! And I've tried just about EVERY drugstore concealer! Another upward bumpie(from a 3 to a 4)!

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
rated 2 of 5
JenJenofAz 2/26/2011 3:36:00 PM

I have this in transparent. I've also used pressed powders from Cover Girl and Maybelline, and this works a bit better for me. I hate the lid to this, however, it never feels like it's on securely. And so I end up playing with it for awhile because I "think" I don't have it on just right. OCD, probably. Anyway, I use this along with the Hide the Blemish ivory concealer, and both seem to be working out better than the other things that I've used. It's not the best, but what is? I haven't found it yet!I have SUCH oily-acne prone skin that I just don't think anything is ever going to become a dream product for me! And I've tried a BUNCH! Anyway, the powder is light and goes on lightly. I like that. I don't look like I have anything on, well except for the concealer because that is a bit lighter than I expected. This powder lasts a bit longer than others I've used, but I still get OILY. This just does a bit better at mopping up all the grease. So, until I can find anything better, I'm sticking with this stuff. Price was also nice. I find it stays true throughout the day, as well. I mean, I don't get any "orange" funkiness with this. I also haven't broke out using this stuff(ahem, Cover Girl!). UPDATE: It is drying! And chalky. Again, as with their concealer, TOO light! And I'm light!

Concealers -Rimmel - Hide the Blemish
rated 1 of 5
JenJenofAz 2/26/2011 3:19:00 PM

I have this in ivory, thinking it would be a great match for my skin, but it is a bit too light. Oh, well. I can still make it work, just wish colors were more accurate! It is a thick stick, but it goes on in a thin layer, so I do have to tap a bit on. I guess we have to tap concealers on, because I've had to do that with EVERY one I've used! Hey, it works! In fact, this works better than the Cover Girl's stick(TOO oily, melted, broke me out)and Maybelline's stick(TOO thick, not blendable, broke me out). It actually covers well and I can get some pretty nasty acne bumps! Stays put, also(well, with Rimmel's Stay Matte!). The reason for a 3? I have to slap quite a bit on for it to cover and it is lighter than other sticks I've used. Also, it is thick, so it's a bit hard to get on my concealer brush. NOT a bad concealer at all. I'll stick to this until I can find anything better. Using this, along with their Clean Finish foundation and Stay Matte powder, looks a bit too light, so I throw on a bit of bronzer. Color selection is a bit light. Update: I first apply my foundation THEN the concealer, so it's not so obvious. WORKS, but the color is STILL light! The more I use this, the more I notice that it really doesn't cover the dark corners of my eyes too well at all. I find this works best for slight blemishes(WHAT are those???)and redness. Anything major? GOOD LUCK! And because it is too light, I mix it in with my foundation(I think the foundation works better as a concealer and the concealer as a foundation!). JUNK! I got so tired of "trying" to make this work, that I have finally given up! Seriously! The clean foundation works a helluva a lot better than this piece of crap! And their colors are TOO light! And I'm light! Bumped it to a big FAT zero. Well, a one, cuz this thing won't allow me to! But I would if I could! Anyway, finally tossed this crap out!

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Bodycology- Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Gel
rated 4 of 5
JenJenofAz 2/22/2011 12:58:00 PM

HATE the smell of this(PLAY-DOH!), but it is a VERY good moisturizing body wash. I can't do many body washes because they are so sticky that they leave me itchy and dry. This is great, though! I even used it as a shampoo, and it left my hair VERY clean feeling. I'll try these in other scents that I like.
