Shampoo -Finesse - Enhancing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

This shampoo & the smell of it reminds me of the 80s, when I was a young girl. I remember when the conditioner first came out & my aunt used to use it (I think she still does) and I recall her hair always smelled so good. The formula has been updated so it is no loner as drying as it used to be. It leaves my hair clean and soft, and I can even skip conditioner. I don't feel residue with this, though I do alternate it with the volumizing version (which I can only seem to find at drugstore.com). Very nice shampoo. edit- I just read this shampoo was produced to smell like Estee Lauder's Alliage perfume, which was popular in the 70s

Styling Products -Finesse - Touchables Hair Spray Extra Hold
rated 3 of 5
renia22 3/24/2007 11:47:00 PM

This is a nice, light hairspray that adds shine & smells great. It holds lightly & I'm still able to get a comb through my hair after using this. It's not so easy to find anymore, but I did pick some up at a discount store for only $3. Unfortunately, the shampoo & conditioner dry my hair out & therefore this hairspray clashes with other shampoo scents since it is so distinct, so I rarely use it.

Styling Products -Aussie - Dual Personality Hi Hold Hi Shine Hairspray
rated 1 of 5
renia22 3/24/2007 11:44:00 PM

This hairspray comes out in this huge burst which makes it very difficult to control the amount of product used. It made my hair a tangled mess, it smells terrible & I did not notice an increase in shine like the product claimed. Disappointing & I would not purchase again.

Skincare - Body -Dove - Ultimate Clear Antiperspirant

I have this in the original scent, and compared to the other products on the market(most of which, in my opinion, smell awful), this one is pretty good. The scent is light & clean and it goes on smoothly. It's not super strong, though, and I notice that I have to use it a second time if I'm going to be exercising. Also, I have not had a problem with white marks like some of the other reviewers have. Overall, I give this one a "B". edit 4/4/07- I wore a black shirt today and this did in fact leave some marks!

Shampoo -Sunsilk - Beyone Brunette
rated 2 of 5

This shampoo is shimmery and it smells fruity. However, it made my fine, shoulder length hair very dull, lack luster and flat, and it felt filmy even after rinsing it thoroughly. Will not buy again.

Treatments -Sunsilk - Beyond Brunette Colour Boost
rated 2 of 5
renia22 3/20/2007 12:21:00 PM

I bought this is the regular (not auburn) and followed the package instructions. Not only did I not notice a difference in my hair, but it made my hair very flat and lack-luster. It smells okay & I had a $3 off coupon, so I only ended up paying $5 for it. Overall, I'm not impressed with this or the Sunsilk line in general. Would not buy again.

Shampoo -Sunsilk - Therma Shine

This stuff is terrible. I bought the leave-in conditioning spray, hoping it would add some shine to my hair. It weighed my fine, shoulder length hair down & it made it look very dull & dirty. The next day I sprayed two squirts on my hand and worked it through my hair, thinking that maybe I had used too much the day before, and my hair looked just as bad. I'm getting rid of this. Very disappointing.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 4 of 5

Glad I saw this idea here! I'm 35 and have slightly oily skin that still breaks out. I've used this a couple of times 4-5 aspirin crushed & mixed with a tiny bit of hot water, a tsp or so of aloe, and then I leave it on for about 10 minutes. Though a small amount may be absorbed, it does seem like most of it goes down the drain. It tightens my skin and tones down the redness that i may be having from a break-out. Haven't noticed a difference as far as skin clearing benefits, but it does help my skin look better so I will continue to use about twice a week.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Breaks Over
rated 3 of 5
renia22 1/17/2007 2:05:00 PM

I bought the shampoo to use in conjunction with the leave-in conditioner. The shampoo is thick and creamy and smells like fruity coconut (similar if not the same as the hello hydration). The leave-in conditioner looks and feels like a styling cream, and I use only a tiny amount on the ends. After drying my hair, it looks smooth and silky and flows together well. Time will tell if I will continue to have good results with this, as I have had issues with some of the other procucts in this line. So far, so good though. edit 1/25/07- I'm leaning towards liking the hello hydration better than this one. My hair seems like it's getting some build up and lacking in shine from this.

Shampoo -Clairol - Totally Twisted Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
renia22 12/13/2006 5:19:00 PM

These new shampoos from Cairol Herbal Essences are just wonderful! This one is French Lavender with Jade for waves / curls. My hair is fine, shoulder length, brown, non-chemically treated with a slight wave to it. It made my hair full and soft with lots of shine, and it rinsed clean. I haven't tried seeing how my hair looks yet after air-drying, but I did on my son (who also has fine waves) and it really brought out the curl & shine. I used this in conjuntion with the Totally Twisted mousse and got great results. I'm not sure how this would work on someone with very dry hair, but on my hair it works well. It also smells fantastic, one of the best so far from this line that I have tried. It's inexpensive, too. You can get this for between $3-4, maybe even less if on sale. edit 1/14/07- a bit drying after a while

Deodorants -Nivea - Deodorant
rated 5 of 5
renia22 12/13/2006 2:08:00 PM

My Aunt brought me some Nivea Dry roll-on (anti-perspirant/deodorant) from Poland this summer and I love it. It's white in the bottle and smells like the regular Nivea lotion. After it dries, I put my clothes on & I have not noticed any white markls as of yet, even when wearing dark clothes. It also lasts all day on me, even after a 2-hour karate or yoga class. I wish they sold this in the States. I like this over the Dove deodorant, which is my current favorite in the U.S.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
rated 5 of 5

I've been searching for a new fresh smelling eau de toilette since my Hubby isn't big on the Chanel fragrances that I love so much (chanel 19, cristalle). After reading the reviews here & on basenotes for this scent, I decided to give it a try. *Wow* At first this smells slightly of fresh mint and lemons with a hint of herbs...then after a couple of hours, it dries down to this lovely, dewy fresh meadow scent. It's light and fresh in a high quality, Guerlain kind of a way. I really like this!!

Fragrances -Chanel - Cristalle
rated 5 of 5

This is one of my favorite EDT's, along with it's cousin, Chanel #19. My husband didn't like the Chanel 19 all that much, so I tried this one instead. It's similar to the 19, but softer and lighter. It's smells fresh and light, while still maintaining the classy, expensive aura that the Chanel fragrances are known for. I also love that it doesn't overpower or smell 'perfumey'. Love it!

Styling Products -Clairol - Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse
rated 2 of 5
renia22 12/11/2006 1:31:00 PM

This mousse comes in a tall, sleek purple can, and comes out very light and airy, though the product tends to come out quickly, so I need to be careful about that since I only use a small amount. The scent is lavender & jade, and it smells divine. My hair is fine, brown, shoulder length and non-chemically treated, but I do blow dry the waves out of it since it tends to get frizzy. I have not used this product yet per the instructions, so I'm not sure what it would do to my natural waves, but it looked very soft, shiny & full after I blew it dry. I also used some on my 4 year old son's wavy hair this morning and let it air dry, and it did seem to bring out the soft waves in his hair. For just over $3 at Target or Wal-Mart, you can't go wrong. edit 1/17/07- I can't tell if this or the shampoo is drying out my hair, but I'm going to stop using it
