Loose Powders -Prescriptives - Magic Liquid Powder
honeystix 6/23/2003 8:12:00 AM
The cool feeling when the powder first goes on is nice, but this powder was too glowy for my oily skin.
This product really is like a skin drink. It is very light feeling, yet moisturizing, and doesn't cause break-outs. I would use it every day, but I need a higher SPF. UPDATE: The zinc oxide in this started to be building up in a film. I have stopped using sunscreens with zinc because they all cause this problem for me, no matter what cleanser I use.
Treatments -Neutrogena - Multi-Vitamin Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]

This product sounded promising with the vitamins, and I liked the pump dispenser, but alas, it didn't do much. I guess it worked as a nice light moisturizer, but it didn't keep me blemish-free. The anti-blemish/anti-wrinkle cream works much better.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle Anti Blemish Cream
honeystix 6/22/2003 11:01:00 PM
This works well for my oily/dry skin. It works much better than the other Neutrogena creams I've used such as the vitamin anti-acne one, which made me oiler. This one is a retinoid cream too, so hopefully fighting wrinkles. The only complaint I have is that it comes in a rather small tube. Update: The small tube has been lasting for weeks,so I can't complain about it. This product is the only moisturizer I use, and it's great!
Pressed Powders -Neutrogena - Healthy defense SPF 30 [DISCONTINUED]

Titanium Dioxide really is one of the very best sunscreens; that's what this one uses. I agree completely with the below reviewer. I am very fair-skinned and have been using this instead of the liquid sunscreens (the liquids always wind up gooping up or flaking out my skin!) This is very effective. I actually wear the Light instead of Fair and it gives my skin a light-golden even tone. One of my few must-have products.
I really like the subtle, pink color of this powder blush. However, it does not really show up much on my skin, because my skin is fair with a pink undertone to begin with. I do think it adds a nice little touch, but noone's ever commented one way or the other when I wear this, so I don't think it shows up on my complexion very well. I do like the tea-like scent. The one major down side to Dandelion is the packaging. It comes in an unwieldy deep square little box like a jewelry box, with a brush in it lying on top of the blush. It's not convenient for toting around, it has no mirror, and it's kind of a pain in the neck just to open and apply in the morning, so I usually skip it because I'm rushing. They ought to do away with the funky box and make it a more conventional blush holder, preferably with a mirror.
Hair -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Instant Conditioner
honeystix 6/22/2003 10:36:00 PM
I think this is the same as the Sheer Blonde Instant Detangler? This gets out the tangles without weighing it down. It doesn't really do anything to add highlights, and you need to alternate this with a real conditioner, but it's a great quick detangler for tangly/ fine hair.
This product is uniquely appealing in many ways. My grandmother used this all her life, and I've always wanted to stick with it, because I love using it and because my grandmother used this her whole life and had great skin. I use this to sooth irritation or when my skin feels "overheated" and red. It cools it right down and gets rid of the flushed look. It has sometimes caused my oily skin to act up. Since I have oily skin, I generally follow it with an astringent like witch hazel to get the film off, so it won't clog my pores. I still use another cleanser to get rid of makeup and oil, but this is fine to use in addition or from time to time on its own. I also use it to shave my legs.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Purely Silk body lotion (any scent)
honeystix 6/22/2003 8:46:00 PM
I love the Purely Silk lotion formula because it doesn't feel gloppy and greasy when you slather it on. Also, with other lotions, I stick to the leather in a car if I've just applied it. The Purely Silk leaves no sticky or oily residue like other lotions do. (I just wished I loved more of the BBW scents. )This lotion moisturizes legs and arms very well, but completely sinks in and has a velvety/silky/powdery finish. I have never seen any flakes described by many of the reviewers here. I have the mini-size ones that too. The Purely Silk costs more, but it's definitely worth the $ . UPDATE: I now have the Rice Flower and Shea, and love the scent.
This set probably works well, if you're patient and practiced. I have found that the Stila mascara Taupe works well for darkening/filling in my brows. Just dampen and remove excess. It works fast and looks natural.
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Totally Juicy Pineapple Creamy Cleanser
honeystix 6/22/2003 8:37:00 PM
This stuff is surprising because it has a cooling/noxema-like thing going on. I like it for my oily skin, even though the bottle says it's mainly for dry.
Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
honeystix 6/22/2003 7:35:00 PM
I wish this product worked for me, because I really love the color. Sadly, it does not work for my fair skin and light coloring. I think it makes me look older.
I cannot believe all the negative reviews for good old Chapstick! This stuff works just as well for me as any fancy lipbalm, and the cherry and mint flavours taste great.
Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood

Perhaps I should have tried decofairy's suggestion, but I got fed up and threw this thing away within a day after purchase. It just seemed to make my face oilier, and using this product discretely to "touch up" in public would be out of the question, given that you just about need to use pryers to force it open!
The Flex shampoo and conditioners have the most unique and memorable fragrance. It's clean, but a touch mysterious and very yummy, and you can smell the conditioner on your hair all day. I haven't used them in a long time, but if you're looking for a very fragrant hair product, this one's special.
