Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Velvet Eyeshadow Where There's Smoke

this is a great e/s. when i swatched it in the store it reminded me a lot of sweet sienna pigment from mac which is my all time favorite! a lot of people are calling this taupe and i guess in some ways it is but i find it more of a pewter color. it is amazing paired with skinny jeans creaseless cream e/s by benefit which i also find to be a pewter color. but whatever color it is it is amazing for smokey eyes and it is good when used to darken the outer corner. i love it! this will more than likely become one of my HG eyeshadows! if it is ever discontinued i will buy back ups!
this color is identical to evening aura which i remember from neo sci fi and when i say identical i mean i think this is the same exact e/s just repromoted with a new name because they are both VP finishes and the EXACT same color. so if you already have this color and you are thinking of getting straw harvest save your money! but if you dont have either one i would def recommend.. it is a very nice peachy/orangey color. it has a very nice texture and blends really well. i dont think it is a have to have by any means but it is pretty. i marked that i would repurchase because i obviously did since i already had evening aura and then bought this.
this is a prime example of why i dont invest in full size primers. thankfully i received this in a swap so i didnt spend any money on it. i dont know what the exact claim this product makes but i have heard that it is suppose to "brighten". well no it doesnt do that for me. my skin looks the same. this makes my pores look huge and the skin around my nose and my cheeks look really dried out. i dont notice any difference of how long my makeup lasts but i know it doesnt last as along as it should. *edit- i've worked with this more since the time i first reviewed it. i think the primer i was using before (nars) i tried this was drying out my skin. i dont notice the same dryness i had before ever since i stopped using the nars primer. i've used this one on a daily basis and i do find that it brightens. it helps give me a "dewy" look. and it is a true dewy look, not oily or greasy. my make up doesnt last as long as it does when i use the laura mercier primer but i like the effect this gives. i still notice the same problem with my pores but i'm use to them looking too big lol i'm still not sure if i would repurcahse but i gave it a 4 now instead of a 3
this is one of those colors i have had for a while but never really played with since i typically stay away from blue e/s. however i have been pretty bored with my neutral office work looks lately so started wearing this color on the lower lash line to spice it up. it looks great because its not too bright and from a distance would prob just look black but it is still vibrant enough that most people would notice its blue. i have been using waveline fluidline on my waterline and as a base for this color on the lower lash line. its definitely a rediscovered favorite in my collection. this one was l/e and i'll prob never use it all but if i did and mac repromoted it i would probably repurchase however i'm sure i could find a shade in macs permanent line that would be similar enough for me. i dont consider it a have to have but its definitely a nice to have color.
there was so much hype about this gloss i had to try it. i've had it for probably 8 months and i've worn it maybe twice. its too milky for my liking. i mean it probably would look ok with smokey eyes but i just never reach for it. i think mac (and other companies for that matter) makes better glosses. i'd pass on this one unless you are looking for a very opaque milky gloss which some people do like. so this gloss is all about personal preference i think because i dont think skin tone has much to do with this one. i think it would look the same on most (not all) types.
disapointed in this one but i guess thats what i get for ordering online and not being patient enough to check it out in the store first. it's not very pigmented at all. it just comes out the same color as my lips with a lot of frost, too much frost. unlike some of the other frost lipsticks i love this one just doesnt do it for me because there is no pigmentation to the lipstick. i would love it if it was more pigmented because i can always tone down the frost with a gloss but such is life i suppose. *edit- after wearing this a few more times i actually prefer wearing it under brighter pinks to tone them done (i.e. saint germain). i still stand by what i said originally in that it doesnt have a lot of pigmentation but it does tone down brighter lipsticks so it was not a complete waste of money. i still wouldnt repurchase
FINALLY! an actual coral lipstick that does not look orange on me. its just a light coral color. it is a frost finish so it can look too frosted if you apply too much and it does kind of look and feel a little drying which i dont like but this color is amazing. i would def recommened a lipgloss on top to get rid of some of the frostiness. (love nectar maybe) if i'm still loving it in a few weeks i will def purchase a backup since i'm sure its limited edition. *edit- now that i have worn it sevearl more times it reminds me more and more of lollipop loving so this is a great dupe for that color
i love the color of this lipstick. its a peachy pink gold color. it is very frosty on my lips which i dont like and i hate the formula. it doesnt go on smooth and i dont find it moisturizing in the least. i just keep trying to wear this but i just cant stand the way it feels on my lips. its just so pretty i hate to put it up for swap because i dont really know if i want to get rid of it. i marked i wouldnt repurchase but i would buy it again if i could find a good way to wear this one. if you are looking for a gorgeous frosty color then this is it if you dont mind it feeling gritty on your lips.
i cant believe how many negative reviews there were on this product. this is the freaking best mascara i have EVER used and i've tried a million. i've never noticed flaking, it doesnt smudge, its easy to remove at night with my make up remover, it doesnt make my lashes hard or crunchy, and it doesnt make them look spidery. it makes them look full and thick. no clumping or anything either. i've gone through about 4 tubes of this stuff already i think. its also the only l'oreal mascara i like so i'm not partial to the brand or anything. this is just honestly the best mascara for me.
this for sure is one of my HG eye liners. it stays on my waterline forever! i like to take a small angled brush and once i have applied it to my waterline kind of take the brush and pull the color down into my lower lashes and then set it with any kind of black e/s and once it has faded from my waterline it still is on my lower lashes so it gives the same effect. this is by far the best eyeliner and i will repurchase time and time again
Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Skinny Jeans

LOVE this! i havent noticed any creasing with this. i do use a primer underneath (too face shadow insurance) and i only put this on my lid as a base. i havent worn it as a liner or just by itself yet. i love this with urban decay ruthless on top. it really makes that color pop, which otherwise is very light on my and barely shows up. i even put a little bit of shale by MAC on top of it and it makes a great grey-purple kind of look. this is the only creaseless cream e/s i own but i am def thinking of buying more because after reading the reviews on here i was really worried about it creasing but i really think if you use a good base underneat and dont put this in your actual crease i think it will be fine. so i'm looking forward to trying other colors. i will repurchase this if it runs out or dries out after awhile (if it dries out too fast i wont repurchase becuase that is ridiculous) i am worried about benefit discontinuing this product because they love to put products out there and then snatch them back and discontinue them without too much warning. (ahem fy eye) so benefit if you are reading DONT discontinue this! lol and if you dont have this go check it out! it is a little pricey but its worth it if you love smokey eye looks
this is one of my fav lipsticks from mac. i love that its not drying like some of their lipsticks can be. its a very pretty coral nude color on my lips. i dont notice it being pink at all. i love it with NARS greek holiday lipgloss. i dont think i would track this one down on ebay but i would def swap for a back up or purchase one if i find it at my cco *edit- i will not be repurchasing this because i have found sevearl dupes. "shy girl" from macs permanent line is very similar if not identical and the rimmel lipstick in "crush" is also very very similar. i also have found it has a weird kind of taste or something that makes me feel kind of sick. i dont know if the lipstick has just gone bad or if its the formulation i really dont know. i still absolutely love the color and its my fav but i just couldnt bring myself to repurchase.
Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
puppyluv2620 1/26/2010 7:02:00 PM
first of all never have i ever purchased a full size foundation primer by any company. i always seem to have enough points at sephora to pick up another one to try or i get them as sample sizes in swaps and it tends to take me a while to go through them manily because i never thought they worked. most of them made my face oily throughout the day and my skin is not that oily and i never saw any difference in my pores except maybe they were bigger looking. so anyway i had enough points at sephora to chose a product and i was low on my nars foundation primer sample so i decided to pick up the laura mercier foundation primer. i've used it for about 2 weeks now and its amazing. my face stays matte all day, my foundation stays put, even my highlight stays on my cheekbone whihc is something i had a problem with fading rather quickly. my pores are basically invisible so i can use a mac msf for blush now over this primer. this is by far the best one i have ever used and i have sampled a ton. it has not broken me out yet and if it does that will be very unfortunate because i love this stuff. i am very skeptical of primers because i just never thought they were necessary or would actually do what they said but this one honestly does work really well for me. i'm not sure how much the full size costs but at this point i don't really care. i'll be purchasing it anyway because to me it is worth it!
Makeup Brushes -MAC - 222 Tapered Blending Brush [DISCONTINUED]
puppyluv2620 1/21/2010 9:44:00 PM
i LOVE this. i dont know why i think i can live without buying all the MAC brushes lol. this one is perfect! i prefer it to the 217 or 224 (which i also like those but this one is so much better) it places the color directly in my crease but doesn't give such a harsh line like i have found the 226 brush does. i have smaller eyes and i think this works much better for placing and blending than the 217 and it is more precise than the 224. i would repurchase and probably will! mac brushes are somewhat expensive but i've never met one i didnt like so to me they are worth the extra money
eh- that basically sums up how i feel about this lipstick. i have heard SO many people rave about this lipstick and so of course i went and bought it. i'm just not into it and i honestly dont know why. i dont notice gold glitter or sparkles like some of the other reviews on here have said. i thought it would like a "my lip color but better type thing" but its not. i guess maybe my lips aren't as pigmented as i thought they were lol or maybe i just love nudes more than i thought lol either way this one just doesn't do it for me, but it is a good quality lipstick from mac. its not drying like some of the others i have from mac so for that i have to give it props.
