Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
rated 3 of 5
pinkfrost52 7/15/2012 4:25:00 AM

I really wanted to love this shade, but it let me down. Don't get me wrong, I love the lip butter range in general, but I can't stand the shimmer in Peach Parfait. It sort of reminds me of NARS Orgasm blush, but in a lipstick form. Peach Parfait has golden specks of glitter incorporated into a sheer warm peachy pink base. Although it looks pretty when I swatched it on my hand, the colour doesn't transfer well on my lips. This formula isn't as smooth when you compare it to the other shades from this line. Infact, its a little gritty in my opinion.

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
rated 5 of 5
pinkfrost52 7/15/2012 4:14:00 AM

This beats any other eyeshadow primer I've used in the past (UDPP, TFSI and NYX). I have combination/oily skin, and find it hard to find good eye primers that will last the entire day since I live a busy lifestyle. The formula is very silky smooth and light-weight. Once its blended into my skin, I notice how it mattifies an oily area instantly. I've used this for a month now and I've never noticed my eyeshadow creasing or fading. My only gripe with the product is of course the packaging. If NARS made this in a squeezable tube, I wouldn't be wasting so much product that is left around the rim of the tube. Overall, it's become my HG primer and I'll definitely be making a repurchase.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending

This brush is fantastic! I've been on the hunt for the perfect crease brush and I think I've finally found it. It makes blending a dream and the brush is incredibly soft. I love that it's dome shaped and small enough to fit smaller eye shapes which can be hard to find with most brands. I tried this with concealer and it works well too. Pricey, but worth it if you don't mind spending a little extra. I'm planning on purchasing a second brush just for concealer. :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
rated 3 of 5

This is an average mascara, but the wand lets me down and it's the main reason why I wouldn't choose to repurchase. The bristles are made of rubber and I'm not crazy about the way it is shaped. I find it hard to coat my lashes evenly because of the space in-between each bristle. For that reason, it gives more of a natural look and doesn't give the volume or length that I'm after. I like that it doesn't flake or smudge on me, nor does it make my lashes feel stiff and brittle. I would only recommend this if you want a natural look.

Polishes -OPI - Pirouette My Whistle
rated 4 of 5
pinkfrost52 7/14/2012 10:30:00 PM

Pirouette My Whistle has gorgeous hex glitter and micro glitter suspended in a clear base. It looks great layered over pale pink/nude polishes which is how I like to wear mine. The glitter is not dense, infact it's quite sheer on it's own and will need multiple coats.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear Cherry Red
rated 3 of 5

Great, bright "fire engine" red. The formula is a little on the runny side so two coats was needed for full opacity. Lasted three days without a top coat before I noticed chipping.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Elie Saab-Le Parfum
rated 4 of 5

This is a lovely warm, but elegant scent that could be worn both day/night. It's a rich full bodied perfume that opens with orange blossom and jasmine. As the scent develops, it smells a little sweeter (patchouli?) and finally finishes to a light cedar-wood scent that is ever-so-slightly spicy. If you don't like white florals (particularly jasmine), I would stay away from this. Very strong so only a few sprays is needed.

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5

I have thick hair and an oily scalp, and this conditioned my hair quite well. It felt noticeably softer/smoother once dry, and there were no knots/tangles in my hair. Has a strong tropical scent of coconut and the scent lasts in my hair. Will repurchase.

I have thick hair and an oily scalp, and I thought this cleansed well without leaving a dry feeling afterwards. My hair feels alot softer and much easier to detangle when showering. It does smell lovely - very tropical with a strong coconut scent that stays well in my hair. Would repurchase.

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - tweezers
rated 5 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/26/2012 8:00:00 PM

Best tweezers out there! I purchased the slanted tip ones in a cheetah print and they are incredibly sharp picking up even the shortest hairs with ease. When plucking, it doesn't hurt as much compared with other tweezers I've used due to their good grip. Definitely recommend.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
rated 5 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/26/2012 3:45:00 PM

This is the perfect neutral red. (Not too orange and not too "blood-red"). Even though it has a matte texture, the formula isn't drying and instead, is quite creamy. There is still a slight sheen once dry so it won't be perfectly matte. Coverage is very opaque and glides perfectly on smooth lips. Compliments and brightens up my NC30 skintone. Definitely recommend!!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Manicare Precision Blending Sponge
rated 4 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/25/2012 7:44:00 PM

I've never tried the beauty blender because I couldn't justify spending $20+ for ONE sponge. I picked this up for $6 NZD (which alone is expensive for one sponge), but I figured it would be better than paying for the beauty blender. I've been using this for almost 3 weeks and so far, I like it. I dampen the sponge with water (wring out the excess) because I prefer a sheerer coverage (you could apply dry if you like full coverage) and it disperses foundation/concealer evenly. The narrow tip makes it easy to blend around the nose/eyes and the round base is great for larger areas on the face. The sponge is quite porous so product is wasted quite easily!! However, I wouldn't say it applies my foundation "flawlessly" either. I wash it with each use using baby shampoo and warm water letting it air dry for the next day. After 3 weeks, I haven't noticed any tears/holes (granted, I have taken relatively good care of it). Not sure if I would repurchase. I think I'll stick to brushes.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme
rated 5 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/23/2012 2:14:00 AM

I love this. I was previously using the Nivea Creme (in the dark blue container), but since it's currently Summer here, I wanted a lighter option because my skin isn't as dry. This is great for both the face/body, and makes my skin feel much softer with continued use. It absorbs easily and doesn't leave a sticky residue. I wouldn't recommend if you have extremely dry skin (get the one in the darker blue container). Will repurchase.

Fragrances -LUSH - Gorilla Perfume - Imogen Rose
rated 3 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/23/2012 2:00:00 AM

Not a huge fan of this scent. I tried it out at the store but didn't end up buying it. There's too many floral notes and ends up being a bit of an overkill (for my liking). I smell alot of rose mixed in with a creamy baby powder undertone. The lasting strength is reasonable (when applied at pulse points) and the small packaging makes it easy to travel around with.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Sweet Lips Lip Scrub
rated 4 of 5
pinkfrost52 1/23/2012 1:50:00 AM

I brought this because LUSH was having their Christmas sale (so it ended up being 50% off) This is just your basic lip scrub and I think it does a great job at removing flaky dry skin. The packaging is a little inconvenient (not to mention quite messy), so it's best to wet your finger with a bit of water before picking up the scrub. My pot was a little dry so I ended up with a coarser texture. It's edible, but doesn't taste that good.
