Top/Base Coats -Essie - Matte About You

What a great idea! I have a thing against shimmery, frosty nail polish. I was also curious about the matte trend but was hesitant because of the short life of the matte polishes plus the house paint look they might give. So I got this to try with the polishes I have. I can't say how good it makes the glittery, shimmery polishes -such as OPI Brand New Skates- look. It brings the sophistication I always wanted without being dull. Dries in an instant and wears much better than my expectations. Haven't tried it on my creme colordon't think would look as good- but I feel as if I have doubled my polish collection. UPDATE: I thought matte polishes had problems in staying power. Opposite with Matte About You. The matte finish resembles my own nail texture and stays on forever. Using this on top of all my nail polishes and enjoying the new look.

Bronzers -Clinique - True Bronze pressed powder bronzer - Sunkissed
rated 5 of 5
ozlema 8/17/2009 3:33:00 AM

I bought this without even testing on my skin, based on the reviews here and now if I could only have one make up product, this would be it. It gives my light, yellow untertoned skin a natural healthy glow throughout the year. I use this as an all over bronzer in summer and as a blush in winter. I like the fact that the brush has a case of its own but it would be more convenient for me if it was fitted within the blush.

Lipstick -NARS - Lipstick in Dolce Vita

Thiis color does not show at all on my highly pigmented lips. I'd call it my lips but worse, dull, ordinary. Gipsy is definitely the nude color of choice in Nars for me.

The black print on the plastic bottle dyed my hand whenever I used this. Not even the cheapest brand make such an annoying, terrible packaging. Plus, the moisturiser is so so, nothing to rave about. Not worth the price at all. I guess that's why I couldn't find any reviews of this on MUA.

Polishes -OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
rated 2 of 5
ozlema 10/20/2008 7:36:00 AM

Oh how excited I was when I received my package of OPI polishes. After using highly-toxic, cheap polishes in obvious colors this was my entrance to the world of high-quality, non-toxic polish world in a variety of colors beyond my imagination. First, the polish streaked, the second coat was better but still a bit suspicious. The color was the common vamp, almost-black-burgundy found in all the cheap brands, not deeper, shinier or better looking. Plus, it chipped on the second day. I was suspicious that beautyofasite.com sent me old polish (the transparent seal was not on) but even my year old polishes look and perform better than this. Will try my luck with the other OPI colors in tow.

Lipstick -NARS - Gipsy
rated 5 of 5
ozlema 10/6/2008 4:20:00 AM

I love this color. The color is not as coral as it looks in the picture here. On my highly pigmented lips and light golden skin the famous Dolce Vita is not half as flattering as this, when I ask people how that looks, they say "you'd just as well not wear any lipstick at all." But Gipsy really adds to my own lip color. Darker, but still natural, moisturizing, goes well with almost any outfit I wear.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
rated 5 of 5

I love this cream. So properly named! Whenever I feel my skin needs nourishment this is what I reach for. After a mask or a treatment, a few days without proper mositurising and Skin Food saves me. Lovely smell. Somewhat thick, sticky texture -but much better than the over-hyped Dr Hauschka Rose Cream- a rub it between my palms and pat on my face. A true staple for dehydrated skin.

Although I didn't like the fact that a product with "natural" ingredients is artificially fragranced I bought this going with the hype. Not happy. Feels like a drugstore handcream on my skin. Sits on top of my skin. No improvement in skin condition. OK product not worth the hype or the price. And why use artificial fragrance in a natural product??

Treatments -Phyto - Phyto 9
rated 2 of 5
ozlema 9/23/2008 7:53:00 AM

I have naturally wavy, full, long hair. After getting highlights it got from being reasonably dry to very dry. Looking for some solution I purchased Neem Hair Oil from Dr Hauschka and Phyto 9 based on MUA reviews. First of all, Phyto 9 is ina very small tube and the small amount specified on the package gets lost in the quantitiy of hair I have. To get a minimum amount of product distributed in my hair, I have to use at least 3-4 times that and even after that my hair is dry. Very dry. This might work for somewhat dry hair but for my VERY dry hair it's similar to using tap water as a moisturizer. Very expensive too.

Bronzers -Smashbox - Body Lights Glowing Lotion

Easy to apply, nice packaging, sexy natural glow. The only negative of this product is its overwhelming fragrance. It is way over the top. It feels I am using a product from a perfume line. Not a bad smell but still...

Treatments (Eye) -Desert Essence - Age Reversal Eye Cream
rated 5 of 5
ozlema 9/23/2008 6:58:00 AM

This cream delivers everything I look for in an eye cream. Maximum moisture without sitting on top of my skin. Natural ingredients. Doesn't irritate my eyes. Pleasant to use. Moderately priced and much better than most high-end creams I've used. Thanks to MUA for introducing me.

Natural ingredients, pleasant smell and texture, great moisturization. If you do not need extra abilities from your moisturizer like anti-aging this delivers what it promises. Especially for younger skins...

Moisturizers -Darphin - Arovita C Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5

I could give this cream three lippies because it is an OK moisturiser after all. I took one lippie off because of the heavy fragrance (an unnecessary additive and a major irritant) and one lippie for the price. No miracles here. Just a moisturiser with a nice texture.

Skincare - Face -Dr. Denese - Dermaclean
rated 1 of 5

I am sorry to be the black sheep here but I bought this cleanser based on th MUA reviews and what a dissappointmentit has been. I do not expect much from a cleanser except that it should thoroughly cleanse my skin without overdrying and being too harsh. well, this does not lather at all, does not clean ( lots of make up is left behind) and leaves a filmy feeling on my skin. After using it a few times, I am giving it away because of the unpleasant experience.

Tinted Moisturizer -Juice Beauty - Juice Beauty - Spf 20 Mineral Medium
rated 2 of 5
ozlema 5/29/2008 5:15:00 AM

Taking into account that it is non-chemical sun protection, it has a nice texture that glides on easily, a neutral tint that makes my skin look better but first I really would not call it a moisturiser, because you need to use a moisturiser as well especially for drier skins and secondly it smells quite horrible. The smell subsides after a few minutes but still... Edit: After regular usage, I actually got used to the smell. I also like the fact that I can use this around my eyes without any irritation. It gives me a nice glow too. Re-edit: Juice Beauty Green apple moisturizer SPF 15 is a much better option. This one's smell is unbearable, really.
