Misc Beauty Tools -Quo - Eyelash curler
nunu 12/23/2003 12:33:00 PM
OMG, have been meaning to write a review on this for ages -- to 2nd the reviewer below, it is such crap!!! :) Does not curl, is unwieldy and while I didn't have the experience of it breaking, it doesn't seem very durable. Most importantly, it does NOT curl. I would give it ZERO lipsticks if I could.

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Naturals Toasted Vanilla and Sugar Lotion
nunu 11/14/2003 9:49:00 PM
I love BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar, and I don't find this smells like it sadly (I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative). It's a little too chemical smelling and doesn't really have the complexity of WVS. The lotion is too thin for my extremely dry winter skin. This was an unfortunate purchase for me :(

Lip Gloss -Baby Pink - Orange
nunu 11/5/2003 4:29:00 PM
Orange is yet another glorious Baby Pink colour! On my CCC NC45 skin, it is a pretty peachy-orangey tone (no shimmer) that really works. :) Again, glass-like BP finish, tacky and therefore long wearing.

Lip Gloss -Baby Pink - Lipgloss in Pink (opaque tube)
nunu 11/5/2003 4:27:00 PM
Was surprised to see the clear gloss coming out of the tube -- and thought, 'oh I didn't realize the opaque pink tube was just clear.' So shocked to see it turn pink on my lips! Unlike others, it was wasn't a shocking pink, barbie pink or fuchsia, just a really pretty natural pink-toned lip. LOVE IT!!!

Lip Gloss -Baby Pink - Lipgloss in Cherry
nunu 10/31/2003 3:30:00 PM
The colour descriptions of Cherry scared me -- definitely a bubble-gum pink in the tube. However, it goes on really almost clear, slightly milky pink, on my CCC NC45 skin. It's ever so slightly shimmery, with the high gloss finish of all BP lipglosses. I was surprised to totally love it, but now am very glad I got it!

Lip Gloss -Quo - Holiday 2003 Mini Lipgloss Set (12)
nunu 10/27/2003 10:22:00 PM
I am SOOO GLAD I didn't buy the Sugar set! $25 USD, vs. $18 Cdn?!! The colour descriptions below are very good, so I won't add to them, but on my CCC skin, I am able to wear ALL of the colours. Very versatile! These lipglosses have great shine, aren't really tacky feeling (which makes me wonder about their lasting power), I don't find the glitter glosses gritty at all. The glosses are sooo beautiful and SO freakin' cute! :) Definitely an all-round rave from me!

Lip Gloss -Baby Pink - Lipgloss in Apricot
nunu 10/8/2003 11:04:00 AM
My fave BP lipgloss. On my CCC NC45 colouring, this looks really natural and pretty, yet with a glassy shimmery lacquered look. I love it because it goes with just about any colour I wear. This may be b/c the bright orange with shimmer in the tube, actually seems to be more golden sheer on my lips.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Plumage - Matte e/s
nunu 10/7/2003 12:51:00 PM
Plumage is a dark teal matte shade. The pigment is very rich and quite true. I passed over this shadow for ages, because it seemed a little boring. However, I think it's great for lining, and a smoky eye. I'm a CCC (NC45). I paired it with Charmer e/s for a neat eye-opening look and was very pleased with the end result.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Charmer
nunu 10/7/2003 12:48:00 PM
Charmer is a matte pale ever-so-slightly green tinged (in the pot) beige. It's a colour I normally wouldn't have looked twice at, as it seemed somewhat similar to colours I had. However, it is one of the few light matte shades that actually doesn't look ashy on my CCC (NC45) skin. It looks quite rich, and much better than the new Veluxe shade called Llama. I've paired this with Plumage and it's really neat.
The MAC site describes it as a "natural sesame". Both the swatch (*big surprise*) and the description are incorrect. You should see this shadow in person for accurate colour.

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eye Dust - Cool Mint
nunu 9/1/2003 8:16:00 PM
This is an iridescent light-to-medium green (with a slight blue undertone). Again gorgeous colour, very little staying power. I've done a more detailed review in "Eye Dust".

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eye Dust - Celestial
nunu 9/1/2003 8:14:00 PM
This is a dead-ringer for MAC's d/c e/s "Haze" (sort of a cross between Tilt and Parfait Amour), lovely iridescent medium duochrome blue-purple. Same problem as with all Annabelle Eye Dust thus far, no staying power on me. I've done a more detailed review under the general category of "eye dust".

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eye Dust
nunu 9/1/2003 8:13:00 PM
These are loose eye shadows that are very finely milled, and sheer out quite easily (maybe a little too easily). Retails for $6.49 Cdn for 2.5 grams. I like these but I prefer MAC pigments. The Annabelle eye dusts come in very pretty colours but their staying power ain't so good at all (caveat being that I have horrendously oily lids). Layering over a base (MAC Paint) does assist quite a bit. I would say it's a must if you have oily lids. The container truly sucks. It's difficult to open and to use, and over time has a tendency to leak. I've switched all my Eye Dusts to empty MAC pigment containers.

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eye Dust - Golden Pink
nunu 9/1/2003 8:10:00 PM
This is an iridescent pink that sheers out to a very golden tone. It's lighter and more golden than MAC "Rose" pigment. Very finely milled, the eye dusts sheer out quite easily (maybe a little too easily). Retails for $6.49 Cdn for 2.5 grams. I like these but I prefer MAC pigments. The Annabelle eye dusts come in very pretty colours but their staying power ain't so good (although I have horrendously oily lids). Layering over a base (MAC Paint) does assist quite a bit. I would say it's a must if you have oily lids. I agree with the previous reviewers, the container sucks. It's difficult to open and to use, and over time has a tendency to leak. I've switched all my Eye Dusts to empty MAC pigment containers.

Lipstick -Lancome - Sheer Magnetic in Visionary
nunu 8/30/2003 9:31:00 PM
Got this in a GWP and was quite reticent to try it. It's a sheer, weensy bit shimmery, plummy brown (or browny-plum, who can tell!) and it's actually a great YLBB on my CCC NC45 complexion. Very moisturizing, and similarly textured to MAC Lustres. Nice surprise!

Lip Gloss -Baby Pink - Raspberry Lipgloss
nunu 8/30/2003 8:41:00 PM
Raspberry is a deep clear pink. I think it's one of my fave BP glosses so far. Usually I'm a shimmer fiend, but this looks soooo pretty on, I think it's incredibly sweet looking on my CCC skin. Sheered out, it leaves a light berry tint on my lips. Fab gloss!
