Moisturizers -MAC - Studio Moisture Cream (Moisture Feed/Skin)
mrsleonidas 3/10/2012 2:36:00 PM
Imo, this stuff rocks! Its literally 2 products in 1 for me! The scent is beautiful and soft. The formula is so airy and creamy....that it just glides on effortlessly. I literally only need a pea/dime size to cover my whole face, eyes and under my chin. Its NOT GREASY and it has NOURISHING ingredients that moisturizes and FIRMS my skin perfectly.(I am not kidding. My hubby even says my skin looks killer and is so much softer than before. And let me tell ya, I have used many prestige brands to drug store brands!) I just can't stop feeling how silky soft my skin is now! Plus, it doesn't give me that yucky tightness that I get from other firming face or eye creams. Yay! The bestest(lol) thing about this..... is that I can also use this AROUND MY EYES and it DOES NOT IRRITATE or MIGRATE towards them at all! I now can save boatloads of money and my precious time by just using this 1 product on my face! Yay! The other bestest(lol) thing.... is that I can IMMEDIATELY APPLY MY MAKEUP/FOUNDATION right after application! This works great under my primer and my liquid(MAC StudioFixFluid) or powder foundations(MAC Studio Powder). Most moisturizers that I have tried ended up flaking and pilling up like eraser shavings....no matter how long I waited for them absorb. But this baby doesn't pill/flake off and is not greasy. I can actually layer all I want to with it and it just absorbs so perfectly. Plus, the On The Go $15.00 price is killer! It comes in a tube, which I found is more sanitary than the full sized tub. And its cheaper cuz you get more when buying 2 On The Go sizes!(But, I am soooo afraid that they may fix that good price soon. Wahhh! Hopefully not though! Knock on wood!) Yep, I think that this stuff ROCKS!!!! :)

Polishes -OPI - Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em
mrsleonidas 2/26/2012 3:00:00 PM
This is one of OPI new "Sorbets" and it has a gorgeous medium berry cherry pink color. These Sorbets have a "glass like" see through consistency similar to a.......... "JOLLY RANCHER" Sorbets are not as sheer as say, a Jelly. Imo, its right between a jelly and a thinner opaque regular formula. These mouthwatering Jolly Ranchers, literally apply themselves! There is no need to worry about having a perfect application method...... Because the 2 I own, this and the pinked coral Guy Meets Gal-veston, are not streaky at all! Yay! I really really hate all the work that goes into applying Jelly lacquer and I almost didn't buy one. But since I found the coral colored Guy Meets Gal-veston, for a great price, I took the chance. WoW! I am soooo happy I did and I just had to immediately buy myself another one. These really rock and are so "fast and easy" to apply. I highly recommend trying one!

Mascara -MAC - Zoom Fast Black Lash
mrsleonidas 2/18/2012 10:50:00 AM
I am sad to see all the bad reviews but..... I do understand. I am pretty confident that the main reason why everyone hates on this stuff is that it has VERY VERY WET FORMULA at first! This really needs a dry out time. It is not like Hypnose and Bad gal(which Bad Gal is one of my HG's) and can be used immediately. Its actually a lil bit wetter than Lash Blast and I'm sure you all have used Lash Blast(which is also one of my go to's. But all the yucky chemicals in it made me stray away from it. I now only use it mainly as a top coat. I mainly now only use it top off a Prestige Brand mascara and then it gives me those Bam look at me false lashes look! lol! (Even though my lashes really do suck naturally! They are barely visible without 2 thick coats of mascara. So, I desperately need a mascara that does its job and does it very fast. Bad Gal, Buxom, Lash Blast and Zoom Lash really do that for me.) Anyways, just like Lash Blast.......when I first get Zoom, mainly use it as a top coat as well. Its just so darn wet at first, and therefore it really weighs down the lashes, when used alone. I also have found that with a new tube of Lash Blast and Zoom lash, if I "turn on the over head fan" or any fan, they dry faster and it makes application so much easier and faster. ;) Plus, I like to scrape most of the formula off, on the sides of the tube, and the formula will go actually back down into the tube, when you place the brush back inside. So, nothing is going to waste...like if you would scrape some off n a tissue or something.(I always hate reading that others do that...I mean its wasting their money. Lol!) Also, since this so wet to begin with, this tube will last forever!!! But, for my wimpy azz lashes......this really does make them look like Zoom baby! :) Oh, and the color is a bad azz DARK BLACK! This baby just takes a drying out time and some patience.

Polishes -OPI - a french quarter for your thoughts
mrsleonidas 1/28/2012 1:21:00 AM
OPI finally made me the perfect matte, medium DOLPHIN like GREY lacquer. A good basecoat, 2 medium layers and a quality top coat and then your set for a good week! Compared to Suzi Takes The Wheel...... French Quarter For Your Thought is the REAL GREY one. SuziTTW, is a stunning, light/medium? sage? murky green when on my PPP skin. These 2 look do so similar in their bottles...... Though, after they're applied... they both dry much darker than their bottle color. So therefore they are no longer sisters..........they become cousins! lol!! ;)

Polishes -OPI - Suzi Takes the Wheel
mrsleonidas 1/28/2012 12:41:00 AM
I freaking loved this 2011 Fall collection! I have been waiting forever for OPI to make a: medium murky sage green like this one,a good matte medium grey like French Quarter FYT, and a medium camo colored green like Uh Oh Roll Down The Window! They finally did it! Now all we need is a real deep dark true gray creme! Imo,Suzi Takes The Wheel, sorda reminds me a lil' of Zoya's Gemma base color(minus the flash of course)when its inside in darker lighting. I compare it to this cuz, its the only sage like green I have, besides Stranger Tides and that is just way too yellow and much lighter. But, this one is a bad azz "darker murkier light sage greened gray." Thats a weird and long description! I know...right! ;) I bought this along with, French Quarter For Your Thoughts. And I can say that, on my Irish PPP skin(that tans really great), STTW is most definitely not a gray. STTW is actually a beautiful rocking "DIRTY SAGE like GREEN" Yay! When swatching them next to each other....... French Quarter For Your Thought is actually the "real gray one" and imo, FQFYT is actually the perfect medium Dolphin Grey ever!! :) If you are looking for a great dark grey by OPI(since OPI does not have one yet.Though Sephora by OPI has one called Break A Leg Warmer) Then I highly recommend trying Essie's Power Clutch. Its a killer dark gray. Plus, it has just a tinge of dark murky green to it....to keep it from looking black, while in inside lighting! Now, STTW does look like a soft type of gray in the bottle. But after my matte basecoat strengthener, 2 good medium coats of lacquer and a layer of Poshe Top Coat...this turns out to be such an awesome "dirty light sagey green." Oh and also, heads up. Both STTW and FQFYT do dry to be about 2 shades darker than their bottle color. Also, when comparing to OPI's main formula, these two are a lil' more on the thinner side.( Though, I found that Uh Oh Roll Down The Window and RoadHouse Blues were both the thicker consistency original OPI formula). These 2 reminded me of alot of Essie's formula. For instance, they are similar to Power Clutch. But, just like Power Clutch.....they are perfect and it only takes 2 easy peasy coats to get a glossy opaque finish. As with most of my OPI's, the wear time is awesome and last me about a week.

Brows -Maybelline - Define-A-Brow
mrsleonidas 12/29/2011 1:14:00 AM
UPDATE: 2/2012 WTF! DARK BROWN has been DISCONTINUED!!! WTF!!! BUT, these are actually priced high when comparing to the MAC one. The size of each Maybelline is .1 for $7.00. So 7 x 3= $21. Maybelline is actually only a good buy if you can get it with a "Buy 1 get 1 free Coupon!" With all that said.......... MAC is bigger and is THE BETTER DEAL. Cuz, it is actually 3 times the size at .3 for $15.00!!!! Plus, the MAC formula is wayyyyyy better anyways!! So, yeah..... its all good!! Imo, this is just as good as MAC...but way over half off! I do find that MAC has better staying power, but with some good setting powder and face primer i am good to go. I generally use this on weekdays and save my MAC for special occasions and nights out. IMO, this is a great dupe. I use the Dark Brown it does not have that horrid red in it!(which I hate when browns have that icky reddish hue when blended out!) Though, this does have some chocolate cocoa undertones....but not too red at all...it just keeps it brown and not a charcoal like brown. For under five dollars I recommend you to try it. I know that everyone has their opinions, and there are many who didn't like it. But, I(and millions of other happy user's) do believe that the ones with negative reviews, are probably just twisting too much out. Or maybe it somehow got too warm and then dried out when it went back to solid form. Or they may just have there home very warm or too cool and therefore it breaks more easily. Heck, I don't know! Lol! Now, I did break it a lot on the first one I bought. But, the past 8 or so have been perfect for me. So, just remember that all you need is a very very very tiny bit out! I really love that its so tiny and finely pointed, that I can draw and define the front box of my brows perfectly. I also use Smashbox's Brunette Brow Tech, or MAC's Espresso Eyeshadow for my arch, and the two blend together nicely.

Primer/ Corrector -Lancome - La Base Pro
mrsleonidas 12/4/2011 5:36:00 PM
This primer goes on like most silicone primers. It has the feel of the cult fave primer by Smashbox. It spreads on easily, fills in pores a li' bit and allows foundation to last longer. BUT there are differences between the two: Lancome only has these 2 ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer (so, basically its just "silicone for $42.00!" Though, maybe it could be great for peeps with extremely sensitive skin?) Smashbox not only has the silicone, it also contains some awesome ingredients to help your skin! The ingredients do vary upon what formula you buy. Some contain various Peptides....which I make sure all of my facial products contain, that has been proven to help diminish wrinkles and firming skin! And I do believe that each one contains Antioxidants, and other natural stuff, to caress your skin. Plus, none of the Smashbox formulas have the "gas like odor" that this Lancome sometimes has. With all that said...... IMPO, this is not worth the high price tag! I mean just read the ingredients! This stuff really is just overpriced silicone!!! Ya know, while I was searching for the perfect primer I became very weary as to why Lancomes Staff,on Sephora and on their website, never listed or gave customers a real answer for the list the ingredients. They would just say the spew what was already said in the description of the product. Well, found out why now! They didn't want us to know that it is basically just silicone and its crazily OVERPRICED for $42.00 and the know it too! I'll just stick with the one that also has added some awesome skin improving ingredients to boot!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Mineral Blending Eye Brush
mrsleonidas 11/30/2011 12:33:00 PM
To begin with, unlike the eyeshadow brush from this collection, this particular brush has a very skinny and travel sized handle. I personally do not care about the size of handles. But for me, they do have to have good grip and some control. Imo, this one does not have either. ELF has a horrible quality control issue(but it is just like most makeup companies, that buy by the mass, from China.... Coastal Scents.Though, I do love most of my cosmetics that I have bought from C.S. Its just that now I sometimes I buy my gel liners, palettes, and brushes straight from Ebay) Anyways, back to this brush. The reviews I have seen are giving this pretty good reviews so I am not going to ruin the rating for this. It my jut be my brush. And by the look of some pictures, most seem a bit more fuller, than the one I received. My brush's synthetic hairs are definitely soft and its made pretty well. Its just that my bristles are bundled together a lil' too tightly and it feels too stiff like for a normal blending brush. Like I said above mine is not very fluffed out....so it is more like a fluffier, longer haired, rounded pencil brush. Unfortunately, it pushes on my skin too much and no matter how lightly I use it. I have even washed it with my MAC shampoo a couple times just to try to get it to be softer and fluffier with no avail. On the other hand, their Mineral Eyeshadow brush and their Studio C. Shaped brushes are freaking awesome!! The hair length and width are pretty comparable to my MAC 239. These are just a lil' bigger, much more softer, and a tad thicker. My skin can feel every lil prick from my 239 and with these I d not have any prickly stabs! Yay! And they pack the shadows on great as well! But, I'd say go ahead and try it. Hopefully you will get a fluffier and smoother flowing one one. Plus, you can get it for $2.50 or less with a coupon code. Just always don't forget to look online for the best coupon code deals. They usually have at least 50% off of their products all the time. (P.S. Also, always search fr coupon codes before buying anything online. Like for instance, MAC always has a Free Shipping code available for any amount of purchase spent. ;)

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
mrsleonidas 11/16/2011 11:41:00 AM
Hell yes I love this stuff! If you are hesitant on buying these.....just click on the ingredients above and you will freak out on how many moisturizing natural oils are in these. Plus, the price is killer for all these moisturizing ingredients. This has a great fruity scent with a strong tone of peach or mango(which I always find that ANYTHING that I have ever bought that had peaches or a mango smell....actually a lil like cat pee. I know I'm weird but that is just what I get from them! lol! But this one does NOT have that weird scent for me! Yay!)Just a lil normal peach/mango mixed with other fruits. :) I love the balms too death! My lips are naturally very sensitive and get dry easily....but these have worked better than any of the over 40 balms I have tried! seriously I have tried them all that are under $15.00! Even the ever loved Kiehls SPF15 did not work. The vaseline base felt just like well, expensive vaseline and didn't moisturize any better than vaseline! Plus I hated the almost non-existent, but weird, taste and it somehow made my lips fell a lil numb. These balms have such a silky light texture. They feel so gentle and light that you can actually just keep rubbing them on over and over and over again.......and it never feels waxy or thick like! My personal favorite is the "Lemon" one. Now I hate any citrus scented beauty products, like lotions and body washes. I feel that citrus scents should just be used for cleaning. So with that said, this lemon balm is not like a normal sour lemon cleaning product scent. Its a heavenly, sugary, and soft scent that really rocks! I am so glad that my son wanted to try it, since it was yellow and was not a very girlie color......cuz I stole it and found my HG balm! yay! Its the best yet! ;)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Gesso matte eye shadow
mrsleonidas 11/13/2011 11:03:00 PM
This is the perfect matte white ever! "Blanc Type" was not light enough for my NW5-10ish skin.(I really really really really wish MAC made a NW5-10! Its so damn stupid! Why haven't they figured out that a lot of people are from an Irish or German heritage! Duh!) So, Gesso was the golden ticket. Though just using a stark white alone.... is too harsh for me. So I do add a very light top layer of Blanc Type to calm it down a bit. P.S I believe those who found it to be not pigmented enough, must not be using the right brush, base or primer. Cuz, it is pretty good for my PPP skin with using any one thing from the above 3. (For me, MAC's Vanilla with the Velvet finish, wasn't pigmented enough for me. Unless I use a very sticky white base.)

Polishes -OPI - Catherine the Grape
mrsleonidas 10/29/2011 2:02:00 PM
Catherine The Grape is so awesome that she is in my list for my favorite top 10 lacquers of all time! She was from the 2007 Russian Collection and has sadly been discontinued for awhile now. Though, I just checked(cuz I am buying a back-up) and she can still be readily found on Ebay and most are still priced right around retail of $8.00 or so.Yay! I bought mine there, around 2 years ago, and it instantly became of my true loves! My bottle of Catherine has the PERFECT FORMULA. The brush is not like some of OPI's older bushy Pro Wide brushes. Its actually great...just like the nowadays brushes. She is not streaky....the first coat is solid and therefore is nicely pigmented. The formula literally spreads on like smooth warmed butter! If your a pro, 1 good medium coat... on top of a basecoat, could be enough. It just takes 2 quick and easy peasy coats for a flawless mani! Yay!...Cuz with 2 boys, hubby, 2 lap dogs and a 3 story house, that's what I expect out of a lacquer and is all I have time for. ;) The color is not really a real bluish "grape" purple, as in the name. It actually looks like 2 colors in 1.....(though not as fascinating as say a real duo chrome like Nubars Peacock Feathers or OPI's Glacier Bay Blues...it just has that same characteristic) On my fair Irish/German skin it looks like a...... "Burgandy with Grape" and a satin finish(the shimmers actually blend into it and almost becomes a creme) Then it can also look more like a "Muted Smokey Grape" in certain lightings and from different angles. When comparing it to my other love(which also has the perfect 1-2 coat formula)OPI's "Diva Of Geneva".....Catherine really does look like a truer purple and becomes a lot more grape like. So, if you are an OPI or a big purple lacquer fan/lover, like me.....then hurry and go grab you one right now! You won't regret it! Th

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 226 Small Tapered Blending Brush - BBR Collection
mrsleonidas 10/24/2011 11:12:00 AM
I have smaller eyes than most guru's I watch videos of. And my MAC 224 is way too large to apply with in my crease(I love it for blending everything together. But I do have to wash it more often than necessary, with MAC's shampoo. Cuz it can get a bit scratchy sometimes) My favorite MAC brush for my crease is the 222. (its a lot skinnier and tapered more which makes it awesome for my smaller crease and it stays very soft... all the time!) So,as you can see my eyes really need a smaller brushes. I always buy MAC cuz I personally love MAC's quality. Last month, I missed the first release....so I then stalked Nordies online constantly until they finally restocked it 3 days later. Yay me!!! But unfortunately, I am not as thrilled as I thought I would be. I mean yes its made well and the hairs are awesome for a smaller type crease brush. The one I received was definitely tapered more at the tip(I dry mine with brush protectors to keep it tightly packed)........BUT the softness is not what I expected it would be. Now its not harsh at all! I'd say its softer than the 129....its in the same family and right around the ballpark...but the 226 is certainly softer than it. I just have pretty thin skin and even MAC's 224 can be a lil rough if used too long! This is pretty soft right after a fresh washing with my MAC Brush Shampoo. Though, after the second or third use its a lil' scratchy again. I know its cuz its so tightly packed and tapered though! So, its to be expected. So, I now do not use the brush protectors while drying and has fluffed out a lil more in the end...therefore making it a bit softer. If you have thinner skin and are looking for a smaller softer crease/blending brush, these are my top 3: 1) Stila's duo ended #30 brush!!!!! My FAVE and I use it constantly!!!!! Its smaller, not as tapered as the 226...but its sooo soft and yet it picks up shadows nicely and I can blend away for awhile without getting the rug burn sensation!!!!(I got mine on Ebay for $10.00 and I highly recommend it!!!I "think" its squirrel hair. Thee other side a fatter rounded like eye shader brush. luvs it too death!Oh my other fave brush is from Stila too and it is the #15 duo brush. I has a flat shader that is just like my 239.It just has dark hair and softer, yet still firmly packed. The other side is a fluffie, softer and longer version of my 219. luv it too!) 2) Coastal Scents Synthetic Crease(they have an issue with quality control, since they buy most of their stuff premade from China, and you may get a straight or fluffy ended one. It almost doesn't matter since synthetic hairs usually fluff out with washings) 3) Bdellium Tools 781 Bamboo Synthetic(its shorter and fatter than the 2 above, but it is soft and places color a lil more densely) In the end, this brush wasn't as soft as I dreamed it would be. But, the craftsmanship is perfect and MAC brushes will last forever.... if taken care properly. You know the more expensive name brand tools that most guys collect and buy from that store in the Mall and has a Lifetime guarantee? Well, MAC (and many other prestige brands) are "our tools" and they also basically have a lifetime guarantee too.....if cared for properly of course! Yes, they are more expensive than many other brands....but these do get the job done fast and the right way each and everytime!

Polishes -OPI - I Brake For Manicures
mrsleonidas 10/21/2011 12:43:00 PM
Wow this color and the formula rocks! Sometimes its hard to find both qualities in one product. But, OPI does it almost all the time and this particular one is the bomb! I only needed 1 coat for opacity! If you are a pro at applying 1 will be perfect. Though, I always use 2 just to perfect my application. This is a GORGEOUS SHINY(I stress SHINY) "darker grapey purple" with a hint of "dirty taupe"...to "gray it up" slightly and this keeps it from going into the dreadful black zone. Yay! This is literally what I wanted Siberian Nights and Boris & Natasha to be. They looked promising in the bottles but they just ended up looking black. But, not this baby! This is the ONE!

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye booster eyeliner + serum
mrsleonidas 10/8/2011 2:20:00 PM
I bought the Regular Black one today and I am so darn disappointed with this......you just do not know! I have a gazillion of eyeliners and mascara's from high end to low end. I am the first to say that you need to buy a prestige brand for the best quality. But, I love the cheap Lash Blast and Milani's Pen liner(in gold case) and....my lashes are baby fine and blonde....almost invisible without curling and mascara. So I NEED thicker lashes.....P.F makes some good stuff....so why not. Upon opening I was thrilled to see the fine tip and was happy that it didn't get all over my lashes. But, thats cuz there is barely any product flowing out! The Black one is NOT BLACK......its like a very DARK GREY!!!!!!!!!! You have to BUILD an BUILD just to get a solid BLACK color! But, then the freaking stuff starts to literally wipe itself off(and its even worse than the Liquid ColorStay liner) Plus, some say it has great staying power...uh? I don't get it... because even with a soft touch it FLAKES OFF! And the biggest issue is that there is no flow! And when it does the liquid dries almost immediately on the pen's felt tip! I HAVE to then RUB it over and over again on my the back of my HAND just to get it back to being SLIGHTLY WET again! I mean, its just like I using the cheap dollar E.L.F liner pen again! But, hey that was only a dollar to waste and it was actually black! Can you tell that I am so mad! ;) I can't even take it back..... since I bought it from Walmart. UGH! I usually try to only buy makeup from Walmart when I know that I love it or if the product gets above a 4.5 review on here and other blogs... well this one is rated high...So, yeah I am so shocked that this stuff is not what its made out to be! Maybe the Ultra Black would have been better. Unfortunately it was sold out today. So possibly that is the one that is getting all the great reviews on here. Cuz, most reviewers are not stating which color they have when it comes to the black ones. But, I have read a few reviews stating even the Ultra Black is not that black to them either. Though,I am still not going to buy it and probably waste another $10.00 just to find out! I mean heck, any prestige brand liners are basically only $5.00 more away and I just threw $10.00 away! WAHHHHHWAHHHH! Imo, the cheap pen liners like Wet n Wild, NYC or Milani are wayyyyyy better than this stuff. But, of course minus the benefits of lash growth. So, since I can't take it back....and I actually do love the very very thin fine pointed tip....I guess will try to use a very light and thin line and then use my good liquid pen liners over it.(Hopefully the base of this stuff won't make it flake off though!) And will get some lash growth overall.
