Powder -Make Up For Ever - Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation

Update 05/09/13: I am SO sad :( i took it back to exchange for 1 shade lighter and there wasnt anything that had golden tones in in my skin shade (medium dark/tan)!! so bummed, so i returned it. Going to check our Merle Normans Ultra Powder Foundation as i read from another MUA'er it was a dupe and $9.00 cheaper... ---------- Update: Still loving this powder but exchanging it for 1 shade lighter. Golden Honey is still a bit too dark for NC42. ----------- i have combo skin (very oily t zone and dry cheeks) and i didnt find that this powder made my skin any oilier or drier than most liquid foundations i have used. i bought it in Golden Honey and its a pretty good match for my NC42 skin. Golden Camel was wayyyy too dark/orangey. I use it dry. w/a sponge i get medium coverage, with a brush, light coverage. its SO smooth going on, did not accentuate any dry patches around my nose at all. makes my skin look flawless! around lunch time my nose got oily, but thats normal for me-i always have to blot by then. it has not oxidized for me luckily, i know that was a huge problem for others. overall i am pretty satisfied with this powder. i really like it more than MAC SF. I might layer this on top of light foundation/tinted moisturizer to get more coverage. bottom line: this powder is simply awesome, buttery smooth. 5 stars if it kept me matte longer but really, i havent found anything, powder or liquid, that can do that AND look good at the same time. Also, i have been using it for about 2 weeks now and no breakouts.
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Tinted Lip Balm - Hibiscus

not sure if i would buy this again as there are so many tinted balm choices out there & this isnt as fabulous or as moisturizing as my korres lip butter pots...but i definitely do not regret buying this! its a beautiful coral on my pigmented lips. looks great against my NC42 yellow toned asian skin. sometimes i feel like it makes my lips...drier? but maybe im just paranoid and the weather is doing that. we shall see!
my first pot was the pomegranate and ive been wanting the mango for a long time. just got it and its fabulous against my tan, NC42 skin and pigmented lips! a true peachy color. will always keep this in rotation! has a wonderful peachy fragrance too :)
i am NC42 and i tried this in both "Sand" and then again in "Golden Neutral". Sand is just way too flat and dark-grey cast. Golden Neutral was a much better match but just a tad too light. The color range is not very good, it jumps all over the place and there is so much PINK in all of them! Even the SA at Sephora said he thought Clinique had the worst foundation color options. So it definitely performs well in the STAY MATTE area, thus 3 stars but it really highlights your dry spots. Dry skin peeps stay away from this. this foundation managed to find my dry spots around my nostrils and cheeks. not a good look. after 4 hours a little oil was peeping through, not bad.
Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

saw a youtuber use this to keep her oily face matte and i read reviews before buying. my two objectives was matteness and filler for undereye. did it work? YES! ok yes this is full of 'cones but i am not using this for every day wear, no way. i bought this for "special occasion" wear. i dabbed it on my face concentrating on my t-zone (for the oilies) and under/around my eyes. let it "set" for a couple of minutes and then put my foundation and concealer on. this stuff is AMAZE-balls. it left my face a super smooth canvas for the makeup and there was no creasing around my eyes at all! kept me matte ALL night. i started dancing and sweating like a pig towards the end of the night, but even then, my foundation wasn't a hot oily mess, i just had beads of sweat on my nose and hairline. if i wore this everyday i would probably end up breaking out but for the occasional special use? totally worth buying. just gives you that nice, smooth matte surface! going to buy one for my mom to smooth out her eye area :) i have no issues with the pot, its not THAT small. i mean, bobbi browns gel eyeliner is smaller than this pot and costs more so whats the complaint?! you barely use that much for your entire face.
Hair -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Argan Oil Hair Serum

I just cannot shell out this much money for hair oil! i really love the lightness of it and the rose scent is quite nice. it left me hair very smooth and not weighed down at all (i used on wet hair). but again, $96.00 bucks for 4 oz? yikes! i am going to try and find pure argan oil on amazon. Oh-this also was so light that i couldnt detangle my hair very well like the oils below. my all time favorite is enjoys hair and skin treatment oil. affordable, smells awesome, amount is generous for the price (about $35.00). 2nd runner up is Biosilk. Both deliver in terms of smoothing out my bleached highlights. Hair oil definitely speeds up the drying time also. I prefer the scent of Biosilk but if you use too much on fine hair it can get greasy. I always use this on WET hair, it also helps getting the brush through to detangle also. Bottom Line: I really LOVE this oil but really, over priced and there are comparable dupes out there for much less.
love the twist up/no sharpening & the fact that its a better shade than stark white, so 2 lippies for that...but returned this today. i found a much better inner rim liner in Rimmel's Scandaleyes in Nude! it lasts longer than Nars (nars had zero staying power on me) and is wayyy cheaper-i paid $3.00 at target (vs $24.50 at sephora for the nars!). its a bit more peachy than the nars and not as bright but it will do. rimmels version takes care of the job better!

wore this on one eye and nars bonaparte on the other. this one lasted longer and was more natural looking. ref: NC40/42, yellow undertoned skin. its not as BRIGHT as nars but i dont mind, it cancels out the redness and thats all i need! not an exact dupe but for the price? $3.00 vs $24.50? CANT BEAT IT! the nars was just too alien looking on my inner rim and had no lasting power-returned to sephora. good stuff and will look into buying their black color to substitute my Chanel, MAC & UD liners :) would get 5 stars if it was just a tad bit brighter (perfect shade for day wear but i would like a bit more pop for night) but not a big deal. Put it on at 7:30 am this morning and its noon, mostly still intact!
Moisturizers -Ole Henriksen - Truth Creme Advanced Hydration
ltgee 4/11/2013 7:14:00 PM
ok IM shocked that there are good reviews for this creme! awful, awfulllll smell!!! so bad in fact that i was GRIMACING as i was applying this on my face! so bad that i had to hop onto MUA today and immediately right a review about this! as i tried to find some redeeming points about this creme sadly there were none. superrrr oily (best for DRY skin), runny consistency and i woke up to a nice juicy white head on my chin this morning. UGH-bad bad bad. all skin types? no way. and did i mention how HORRIBLE this smelled? like chemical+oranges+vanilla+grossness.
Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Sheer Tint Moisturiser SPF 15
ltgee 4/9/2013 5:39:00 PM
LOVE the reformulated version. NO metallic sheen and higher spf. the liquid seems smoother too. medium is a perfect match for my NC40/42 yellow undertoned skin. stays matte and gives light coverage. good stuff but PRICEY as heck for the amount you get.
Masks -Korres - Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial
ltgee 4/5/2013 4:50:00 PM
smells like buttery roses-very strong fragrance, dissipates after 30 minutes. texture is quite nice, kind of a "dry" cream, definitely not oily & i like that its natural (2 stars for those reasons). woke up the next morning w/2 clogged white heads, one around my mouth and the other on my forehead. didn't feel that my face was any brighter the next day...so returned.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Perversion
ltgee 4/3/2013 4:05:00 PM
this is a really rich, super creamy, blackest black eyeliner. unfortunately it smudges/transfers like crazy and that's a bummer :( i use it for tight-lining and it transferred to my bottom water line and then i got the raccoon eyes effect. im giving it 2 stars for the rich black color and the creaminess. but will not buy again. i have an entire stick i have to go through now! i read a tip that you can use a liner brush and brush on clarins double fix mascara over liner to help it stay put-will try that. the best eyeliner i have tried so far (but pricey) that doesn't transfer is the chanel one. for DS, l'oreal makes a gel pencil liner thats pretty creamy and black too and doesn't smudge as much as this one. not as black though :(
BEST, shiniest, clear (with 1 coat) nail polish. it looks peachy in the bottle but its clear w/1 coat and w/2 coats you can see the peach. fabulous shine-with ONE coat! much better than trying to get the shine from buffing your nail bed. tried this on at my friends nail salon and was blown away by how shiny it made your nail. ran to sallys and bought my own. fantastic for girls who dont get the nails on their hands painted but want a polished look on short nails (i dont get my hands done often because unless its GEL, that nail polish is chipped & gone within 24 hours). will buy this forever!
Foundations -Bare Escentuals - bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation - Golden Medium
ltgee 4/1/2013 5:05:00 PM
i've been using bare minerals since its inception and i switched to liquid foundation somewhere in the mid 2000's. i can get away with Golden Medium when im around NC40-42. i love that it has a yellow base, perfect for my tan, southeast asian skintone. Unfortunately i always break out from wearing BM and it always gets reallyyyy cakey around the creases (i have SUPER oily skin). its easy enough to use and doesnt look streaky but the container is just so wasteful and gets all over my hands, the floor, the mirrow when i tap the excess off. i see that they invented a compact but i dont love this enough to try that version. i still have a container i need to finish through but wont be repurchasing. yeah, i just took a look at my face and no bueno-my skin looks crepe- y!!
Conditioner -KMS California - color vitality color revitalizer
ltgee 4/1/2013 2:37:00 PM
natural ingredients in this are lilac and ginger, smells FANTASTIC! not sure if it worked any better than other DS conditioners so if i were to repurchase, it would just be for the smell of it. it comes out a light purple color. smaller bottle is about $15.00 bucks.
