Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup
lollsazz 4/16/2013 5:04:00 AM
I like this very much. I have used it alone and over makeup and it always makes me look better :) . I have light yellow skin - about NC15 in MAC. I bought nr. 10 because I somewhere read it was a light yellow shade. I would say that it isn't a true yellow, but a neutral yellow - very good colour actually - very natural and healthy looking. It may be slightly lighter than my skin tone, but that is very easily fixed with a little bronzer/blush/contour, which I use anyway. . It's really true what people say: that this powder doesn't look powdery. Right after application, you may notice just a little bit that there is powder on your face, but it kinda melts/mixes in with your natural oils very fast and the powderiness disappears. It gives my skin a blurred appearance :) . The lasting power is good - it lasts me all day. The coverage is not like powder foundation, but like a powder - light/sheer. It's enough to blur out pores and a little bit of hyperpigmentation and overall even the colour of your face out. . My sensitive skin seems to not react to this at all - after certain makeup products it may feel a little rough (although no irritation or redness), but this doesn't have any negative effect on it. I have dry skin and I always look for powders that won't accentuate it. I have had powders that look good at first and my skin loves, but then they make me become really oily later out in the day (Kanebo Total Finish, Shy Uemura Lasting Finish). This neither dries my skin out NOR make me oily later on in the day - it just seems to balance my skin very nicely! BUT if you asked me if it has oil control, I would say no. . I can't really say much about other shades at this point as I ordered this over the internet, but I will definitely buy more of this powder to have for when I get more tan!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Powder Brush
lollsazz 4/11/2013 7:26:00 AM
I use this for application of powder foundation and to dust off any excess powder after I set my foundation with loose powder. I feel that this blends powder foundations well, but if you were to apply powder with it over a foundation I couldn't promise a perfect result - I always apply loose powder over my fluid foundations with a puff, and just use this to take the excess off as I'm afraid applying with this alone may take the foundation off a little - it's a little too stiff for that (stiff, not scratchy!). However, it's exactly what I need. UPDATE: this works very well to apply powder over BB cream though, and often even works well to buff powders over foundations :) . This brush isn't super-soft, but it isn't scratchy. I have sensitive skin and a lot of brushes that other people consider very soft (for example the MAC kabuki) are too scratchy for my face. This is definitely soft enough to buff in powders and it blends them in very well. I actually really like that this doesn't have totally smooth bristles - I have had brushes like that too, for example The Body Shops retractable blush brush (and many of their other brushes) - it's VERY soft, but it doesn't blend powders very well (it's better for cream products or liquids). . For me it's hard to talk about densities of brushes - it's such a subjective measurement. All I can say is: when I apply powder foundation I wish it was a tiny bit denser, because when I really need to blend foundation certain places (my temples, around nose), I actually need to hold it at the base of the bristles to make the brush denser. BUT: I still love this brush. I doubt this would go out of use if I found a better powder-foundation brush. . I really like that this brush dries super-fast! If I suddenly really need it washed in the morning, I use my Mango bar soap from The Body shop on it, squeeze the water out and then hit it for a little while against a towel (pretty hard). I 'm actually able to do this in just a few minutes and it will be ready to be used again. That this doesn't hold water means that the bristles aren't porous, which also means they aren't a god place for bacteria to hide, which again means that it's a good brush for sensitive or acne-prone skin. . The size is quite big, so it isn't a very travel friendly brush. I wish Eco-Tools could make some kind on packaging one could keep the brushes in while travelling - the cloth-thingy sucks! I believe there is some other kind of packaging available for the newer brushes though. . I got my brush in a set with 4 others I got from ebay. I only use 3 of the 5 brushes, but the set is still worth the money. You can easily get the old Eco-Tools brushes for under $6.50. It's hillarious, but where I live they sell the same thing for $30+...! You can also get these from iherb.com. If you're a first time customer, you can use my coupon code JUZ808 and get a discount of $5 (if shopping for less than $40) or $10 (if shopping for more than $40). If you have products for more than $30 you can just go ahead and find something for $10 more - with the discount it won't cost you any more. The site may look a bit cheap, but it hasn't disappointed me before. This brush comes in this set: http://www.iherb.com/EcoTools-Bamboo-Touch-Up-5-Piece-Set/39231 and costs $8.99. This brush also can be bought separately, but it's $6.99 alone. I would recommend to buy the set if you ever use brow/lash brushes, and the slanted-tip brush is good for filling in brows, applying smudged eyeliner (it's too big to apply a thin, precise line) or actually... to apply concealer to blemishes! . I also want to say how the code works: if you use it, I get a small percentage of the price you paid. People earn money when you use their code. If you feel strongly negative about this, you can use iherb's own code ABC123, and only iherb will earn money from your buy.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Micro Cell 2000 - Nail Repair Remover

The nail polishes from the series are really good, which is why I got sucked into buying this. This nail polish remover, however, is quite bad. The only thing that is good is that it doesn't have acetone. It removers polish like any regular remover. One would think that this would be milder towards the nails. NO. My nails are left white-striped and nail beds are dry after using this - it doesn't look healthy at all! I will take a picture next time I use this to show what I mean. The smell of this is REALLY STRONG! All nail polish removers smell quite strongly, but this is worse than anything I've ever used - the smell is really sour, strong, and it actually make me get head aches and stinks up my room for many hours (with open windows)! . Bottom line: this doesn't seem any better than a cheap nail polish remover, cost 6 times more than my regular remover and STINKS! I would recommend NOT wasting your money on this.

I tried this when I had some problems with a moisturizer and wanted to try something more natural. This didn't give me enough moisture, stayed greasy and my facial skin seemed to react to this: I didn't use it enough to get any pimples, but I did get more redness around my mouth and nose. Gave tis 2 because I think I may be able to use this for body massage. I agree with the reviewer 2 reviews down: a lot of natural essential oils can irritate sensitive skin.

Mascara -Fasio - Full Dynamic Volume Mascara
lollsazz 4/8/2013 1:00:00 PM
First off: it doesn't say so on the package, but this is VERY WATERPROOF! You will have to use an oil cleanser and really use your time to get this off. This is one of he mascaras I could suggest wearing to the pool if you must. . It's a pretty good mascara: it has a good brush, it doesn't apply lumpy, it gives volume and you an build it a bit. My only complaint would be that although it doesn't run or smudge on me during the day, it may occasionally flake just a tiny bit. Flaking mascara is one of my pet peeves, but this happens so rarely that it doesn't matter. Anyway, I like the look of it - it can look pretty natural and doesn't giver spider lashes. I also like that I can use this for situations that require waterproof makeup - you know: not all waterproof mascaras are actually waterproof.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Neocell - Fish Collagen + HA, Collagen Support Complex
lollsazz 4/8/2013 11:53:00 AM
I heard collagen may help getting rid of wrinkles by increasing the collagen layer in the skin. I actually first heard about a Japanese Collagen drink though: Kinohimitsu J'pan Colagen Drink. I researched it for months, but found out it was just way too expensive to ship internationally to where I live. Months later I found and I bought a bottle of 120 capsules of these capsules at iherb.com instead. There are several different collagen capsules at iherb, but after some research I found that studies confirms that fish collagen worked for boosting collagen, but not mammal (ex. bovine) collagen. The molecules of mammal derived collagen are too big to actually be taken up and used. This is the only type of collagen iherb had that was derived from fish. The reviews on other types of collagen were actually better, but I think I'll just do what science recommends. As far as I understood, there were no studies that had confirmed for sure that dietary hyaluronic acid (HA) could be taken up and used as is in our body. Only something about "Oral administration of HA may improve the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis in patients aged 70 years or younger when combined with the quadriceps strengthening exercise.". I think the training-part may be what contributes most. . THE REVIEW: . I'm only 22, so I don't really have much wrinkles, but I think prevention is better than trying to get rid of them later. I only had was some lines on my forehead and some wrinkles around my eyes (which is something most people have). . I had no hope of actually getting rid of the eye-wrinkles - that's because of the shape of my eyes and because of smiling - the wrinkles will always be there. However, I have been trying to get rid of the forehead lines for about a year (with anti-aging serums, creams, acids..), and this product did that in about 2 weeks! The lines wouldn't budge, no matter what I applied to my face, but they are now completely gone. I'm a bit sad for not taking a "before and after"-picture, but I will search my camera and try to find some pictures anyway so I can show you the result. I also noticed that my "angry-lines"/11's are gone! . Cons: capsules are a bit sticky on the outside - swallow them fast with lots of water. Sometimes I feel a little nauseous in the morning a little after taking the pills. But: bottom line: this works! I don't know how much it will work if you actually have a lot of wrinkles, but it did give me a pretty good result very fast :) . If you want this or something else at iherb.com. This product will have an expiration date printed on. Mine expires in 2015. . I also want to say how the code works: if you use it, I get a small percentage of the price you paid. People earn money when you use their code. If you feel strongly negative about this, you can use iherb's own code ABC123, and only iherb will earn money from your buy. . UPDATE: I have also noticed that my stretchmarks have flattened out quite a bit.. anctally: I can see them a little bit (the colour is slightly lighter than my skin), but I almost can't feel them! I didn't think about it before yesterday, when I showered and put some body lotion on (not something I do often), and noticed that my butt, thighs and hips felt somehow smoother...! If you're wondering why I didn't feel it while showering - I use shower gloves to soap my body in, so I don't actually feel my skin that often :P Stretch marks aren't small lines on forehead - they actually had some depth! I didn't even think about this when buying the pills, but since I'm actually taking them orally, they will improve the skin all over my body. I also googled stretch marks and oral collagen, and it seems to be a known thing that may help :) . At his point I just really really wonder how much more these pills can do, and if the results will last even if I stop taking them. Well, well, I will be updating this review the next months if I notice any other big changes in my skin :) In the mean time, I would recommend people that have deep stretch marks to try this - it may make them better! :) It would be cool to test out these on my boyfriend as he actually has some pretty deep stretch marks (they make his butt all ridgy), but I doubt he would agree :P UPDATE: boyfriend didn't agree on being a test subject, but I have bought one of these for my mother and she will begin to take them already from tomorrow off and report back about the results :) . UPDATE: this helps a little against my cellulite. I'm generally lucky in that regard though: I don't think my family is predisposed to it. I don't know if a person with a lot of it will notice a difference - what is 50 % reduction for me may only be 5-10 % reduction for others. Cellulite is unevenly distributed fat though, so I don't quite know why there is a reduction in cellulite - maybe the skin is just a little tighter and plumper and gives smoother look because of that...? . UPDATE 01. May 2013: the wrinkles around my eyes have actually reduced a little bit :) I was always looking at the thin wrinkles going almost down to my cheekbone, which are still there, but the wrinkles I had right under my lower lashline are actually only half as deep as they were before!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Escentric Molecules - Molecule 02
lollsazz 4/8/2013 7:49:00 AM
It says that the main ingredient in this is ambroxan. I have no clue what it's supposed to smell like, but to me this smells like sandalwood and lime. It has some of the same woodsy smell that Molecule 01 has, but it's a fresh fragrance. It smells good, but very weak on me - I can barely smell it. I'm not sure if it's only me though of if it's like that for everyone.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
lollsazz 4/7/2013 6:20:00 AM
The pigmentation is good, the shadow is smooth and it's easy to pick up on my brush. It's long lasting, not powdery, not chunky. . For me it's a 4 because I can only use it when I'm NC15, and I can't really make it opaque - else it brightens up my eye too much. It's a light pink-nude shade with tiny shimmers - very day appropriate. The shimmers are good at highlighting the area/bring light to where you applied it. I can't really say it's versatile. You know: some shadows one can apply more of and get more colour, and it can be adjusted to many skin tones. I don't consider this one to be quite like that because it's such a light colour :/ . Mac eye shadows are good when it comes to staying power, but I can't lie - you need a primer under this if you don't want it to crease into the folds in your eye during the day. It's not really a problem though - the eyeshadow can be fixed easily just by using your finger to blend it a little again. . It's a good eyeshadow that will last you a long time, since you probably will only need a little on each application. The only thing you should consider is if you actually like the colour. I bought this because I wanted something nude for everyday, but I liked Era better for the purpose. . I have put in the picture of my eyeshadow palette for comparison - on my screen the colours look quite accurate.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Escentric Molecules - Molecule 03
lollsazz 4/5/2013 10:54:00 AM
UPDATE: gave it one more lippie, but just because it may be better wearable for guys than girls. I just can't imagine many girls wanting to smell like burnt grass and moss... . The main accord in this is vetiver. Some people say it smells like good vetiver, some say it smells like pomelo fruit. This smells something between tea tree, dirt and the old, rotten, possibly burnt leaves from your backyard. I think I smell just a tiny bit of sandal tree too(?), or something a little like it, but the "tea tree" accord is the strongest on me - it has that "minty" smell it has. . The perfume itself is this thick, yellow, oily liquid that may actually stain your clothes! Absolutely nasty - looks like something an amateur made! THIS I HATE about it! Who the hell makes perfumes that consistency?! . This i more complex than molecule 01, but it's definitely not a smell I'm into. . Vetiver is often used in men's cologne. Less often in women's perfumes. If you're into smell of earth, wet leaves, moss, a little smoke and just a tiny bit of crisp wood, you may like it. . The Escentric series may be better than the Molecule series in these fragrances. A lot of people dislike this one.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Kao Liese - Platinum Beige
lollsazz 4/2/2013 7:38:00 AM
Why I bought this: I'm currently NC15 and have naturally very dark brown hair. Dark hair just doens't look good on me when I'm so pale. I coloured my hair about 9 months ago the colour was just getting ugly: 12 cm of dark brown, then and orangy light brown colour from there. I knew already before colouring my hair that there would be no way to actually make my orange-toned hair a cool shade - I didn't want a true cool shade either - I wanted to blend my roots with the rest of my hair and get rid of some of the dirty orange tones. . I think I red the instructions about 10 times before colouring my hair - I was sooo afraid of doing something wrong and ruin my hair. It's very nice that there are instructions in English supplied with the dye already :) . I held the dye on for 40 minutes - 10 of them was when I was applying the colour. The process is simple, but I have actually only once in my life coloured my own hair. I got some colour on my skin, but it stained incredibly little, and I think I got if all off in the shower anyway. The smell of this is... ammonia, what would you really expect? You should have a window open because the fumes will sting your eyes. I have encountered much worse before though. The smell only stayed on for a few hours (4-5) - I have had some smells stay up to 4 days, so this wasn't bad. My boyfriend actually liked the smell. He didn't notice that I coloured my hair (saw me quite late at night), so he didn't know it was actually the smell of the hair colour - I didn't tell him - why ruin this good illusion? X) . The colour turned out absolutely perfect! I was smiling at myself in the mirror and squeaking when I saw it XD I was very afraid that my roots wouldn't blend with the rest of my hair because parts of it was coloured with henna (metal free), and henna has a tendency to be pretty clingy. But the colours blended beautifully. The colour turned out to be a gorgeous shade of caramel - warm toned, but much less brassy than my hair was before. It's just like the middle colour on the box, all over. . I will put up some pictures soon :D (I WILL do it - I'm on MUA every day!) . My hair is medium thickness and down to right under my boobs and 1 box of dye was just enough for me, I would say. They say in he instructions that you shouldn't colour your eyebrows with this dye, but I've seen people do it before, and they were just fine, so if you feel the need and already have taken the allergy patch test, you should be fine too :) Just DO NOT get it into your eyes!!! . I did not feel any damage to my hair - it doesn't feel drier or more brittle, or frizzier. Yes, when you first colour your hair it may change a little in texture, but my hair has been coloured quite a lotand is still in good condition. Although the colours may not be many, I see myself repurchasing this in the future. . I needed 1 box of dye for my hair, which is 35 cm from the bottom of my head and cut quite straight. I was a little nervous that there wasn't going to be enough dye. I would say that with medium thickness hair you may be able to colour AT MAX 40 cm of hair - beyond that, buy 2 packs of colour. Yes, that is kinda expensive, but otherwise your colour may, maybe not be patchy, but the dye will be unable to colour all of your hair on one colour.

Mascara -Artdeco - All in One Mascara
lollsazz 4/2/2013 5:24:00 AM
It's a good product: - doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes - doesn't flake - easy to remove - doen't really lump - pretty nice brush - a good deep black - gives good length . It doesn't really give me crazy volume, it may smudge if you touch your eyes, the brush is good but not my favourite, but, to me, this is a good all-around mascara. Would give it 4.5 if I could. Some people may be annoyed about this having a smell though... it smells like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua X) I'm feeling quite weird every time it put the mascara on because it smells like a foundation to me :P

Did not like. The smell was nice, but it goes away pretty quickly. It made quite little difference to my hair, and it did nothing to nourish it. Over time I find that this dries out my hair - probably because of the alcohol in it. You can actually smell alcohol when you spray this on. The only reason I gave this 2 stars and not 1 is that it works just a little like saltspray on me - gives a little bit of texture. This still doesn't make me want to repurchase. Unlike salt spray though, this leaves your scalp oily if you spray it onto the roots of your hair.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie #630
lollsazz 4/1/2013 8:21:00 AM
I bought this when looking for a nice nude for myself. I didn't like the smell - it's synthetic and bothers me. Same with the smell of all of the lipsticks in this line - and they taste what they smell. It's very creamy and pretty slippery - this can sound good, but for me it's definitely not - it leads to the lipstick sinking into my lines and crevices and look very uneven. I'm not a fan of the slippery feeling at all. . My skin is light and has a yellow undertone - about NC15 in MAC. I thought something orange-toned may suit me, but nooo... the colour looks too light and too bright coral on me and makes me look like my lips have died. Orange-coloured darker colours suit my face, but not this! I think it may be because I have olive toned skin, and the lipstick just makes it look greenish in comparison. Someone with a neutral skin tone may like this. . I have no clue about the lasting power as I would never manage to actually wear this because of the look, the feel and the smell/taste. If you absolutely want to wear this, you may want to test out earth angel - it's shimmery (requires matte skin) and more sheer, but more wearable IMO.

For some reason this smelt like the grandma of grandma perfumes on me! It was like I was transformed into a 90 year old lady - dusty smelling clothes, a bit of BO and a heavily floral perfume that is outdated and has been used occasionally throughout the last 30 years.

I would like to start of with saying that the composition of this perfume seems to be quite simple, but it smells totally different on me from what seems to be in it. I for example get absolutely no green notes from this on my skin - they're present only half a minute after, but I don't actually smell perfumes in that period. My skin does have a tendency of turning perfumes less green and sweeter in general. . I think this smells beautifully! When I first spritz it, it's pretty sharp and spicy, with some oriental notes. Then it turns into a sweet honey smell mixed with a balmy smell. At last, I'm left with (not overly) sweet vanilla, just a little bit of orientals, balmy lipstick smell and just a tiny tiny bit of lily - it's almost not present on me. I don't think it smells like old people, but rather grown up, comforting, intimate and classy. I'm only 22, but I think it's age appropriate even for me. This can be compared to Organza by Givenchy in terms of what age group can wear it. The smell stays close to the skin and settles quickly, so I don't have to wait for long before exposing myself to people . I don't get a head ache from this, and I don't think it should bother other people either. This smell reminds me of my childhood - it smells a lot like my grandmas lipstick (I'veen hunting down a perfume that smells like it for YEARS!). She always kissed me on my cheeks when she had her lipstick on :) This was also that one of my friend house smelt like - her parents were Chinese and wad the house decorated with beautiful Chinese items! Lasting power isn't the best, but it's OK with me. . If you want a "special" scent - this is not it. It's not a complex scent, it's not going to make you stand out. This is actually what I like about this perfume - I can wear this soft smell every day without annoying people - they would only be able to smell this when they're very close to me, which I also think the name describes perfectly!
