I got a mini w/ a Sephora GWP and was pleasantly surprised. The results aren't dramatic, but they are noticeable. The thing I like the most about this gloss is that it isn't sticky; it really sinks into my lips and feels comfortable. My lips get a little numb from this gloss and look fuller with less lines. The color is a cool-toned red that is actually a little too dark for my pale-ish complexion, but the color of this gloss actually sinks in and tones down. Probably wouldn't repurchase this color, but I love the formula.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shiseido - Eyelash Curler
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:36:00 PM
I am half-Japanese and have always had a hard time finding an eyelash curler that fits my eye shape. My mother's Maybelline & Revlon don't even reach the outside or inside lashes; just the center ones. My Japonesque partial curler worked, but it took a long time and broke after only a few months. The Shu Uemura would definitely be runner up, but the Shiseido one by far reaches teh most lashes for me. This curler, however, doesn't seem to be as curved as the other curlers I've tried--probably because this is made by a Japanese brand.

Treatments -Avene - Cleanance K
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:30:00 PM
I got a sample of this in a swap and now use it regularly. I apply it to my nose after my prescription acne medication, and at times it does sting, but along with other products that I use regularly (Neutrogena blackhead eliminating masque, Neutrogena acne mark fading peel, QHMJM), it really helps with my blackheads--I ran out of this for a while, and wasn't seeing the results as when I was using it. My blackheads will kind of come to the surface of the pore and turn red/brown in color; within a few days, they're gone. If you have dry/sensitive skin, I'd try a sample first before investing.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Pore Refining Cleanser
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:24:00 PM
I was a little disappointed with this cleanser. It is sort of a gel with exfoliant particles. I didn't really notice any difference in the size or clarity of my pores, but what I really didn't like about it is that it didn't lather up, and I didn't feel like it cleaned my skin very well; I wouldn't trust it alone to take off my makeup. Wouldn't buy it again.

Cleansers -Olay - Total Effects Anti Aging Anti Blemish Cleanser
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:21:00 PM
Because I use topical prescription medications to control my acne, I can't vouch for how well this cleanser clears up acne, but it didn't exacerbate it any. This is a rich cream cleanser with some small exfoliation particles in it. What I like about it is that it leaves my skin feeling clean--I have no worries about it not removing all of my makeup. Would definitely buy this again.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:17:00 PM
I use prescription topical medications to take control of my acne, so I can't vouch whether this clears up acne, but it definitely doesn't exacerbate my acne. What I really like about this cleanser is the feel on my skin; it is creamy (kind of like a shampoo), luxurious (which is not usually an adjective I use to describe facial cleanser), and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. Will definitely purchase again.

Eyes -La Femme - La Femme eyeshadow in green leaf frost
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:06:00 PM
As with all La Femme eyeshadows, this is very pigmented and goes on velvety. The color is a cheery celery/apple green--very similar to MAC juxt. The color is very pretty, and I'd say it works for me (PPP w/ cool undertones) and looks very nice with my eyes (hazel); but I don't feel comfortable wearing this color during the day.

Eyeliner -Lancome - Artliner
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 10:00:00 PM
My HG of eyeliners! I am half-Japanese with hooded, "no-crease" eyelids, which has caused a lot of problems for me in finding an eyeliner that stays on without creasing and fading away within an hour or two. This eyeliner has a nice applicator and goes on smoothly. It stays on for a good five or six hours for me, but I'm sure for someone with creased eyelids this would last a lot longer. Though it's expensive, for me, it's worth every penny. Plus, it's the exact cost of the minimum purchase for a GWP.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Tint 1136 Nude
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 9:55:00 PM
Got this with a free coupon and am loving it so far. It has nice packaging and a nice applicator (not a fan of wand glosses, so this was right up my alley), and gives a nice tingle to your lips when you put it on (kind of like Burt's Bees lip balm). Smells and tastes good. 1136 is a 'nude'--more of a medium pink; YLBB. Even after the color and shine is gone, it still leave your lips with a protective moisturized layer.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat [DISCONTINUED]
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 9:20:00 PM
Okay, so I didn't actually buy this product, but I've tried it on at my counter multiple times. I really wanted to like this, but applied on my cheeks with a light hand, like blush, it looks iridescent and unnatural on my cheeks (PPP w/ cool undertones). Hopefully this summer's MSF releases have a little more color and less unnatural finish.

Highlighters -MAC - Skinfinish-Stereo Rose
lindseylouike 2/2/2006 9:16:00 PM
I kind of jumped on the MSF thing a little too late; they were gone from stores by the time I realized that I *needed* one. I was at my MAC counter, and just happened to see that they had Stereo Rose, I got one of the last two. I've never really been a blush/highlighter/bronzer kinda gal, but this makes me really excited to put on my blush everyday (all of my other blushes are now getting barely any attention). It gives me the most natural, pinky/peach glow (PPP w/ cool undertones). This is a little expensive for a blush (not compared to Nars, lol), but considering the amount of product you get, it's worth it. I'd spend up to $35 if they carried these regularly. My most favorite beauty product I own (for now)!

Lips -Clinique - Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick Perfect Plum
lindseylouike 11/10/2005 5:49:00 PM
I've always loved Clinique lipsticks, and this is my new favorite formula. It is moisturizing and glossy, lasts as long as any other lipstick. What I really like about this buttershine is that it's layerable--one layer looks differently than two layers, etc, and adding more than one layer creates a lot of depth and makes my lips look bigger and more pouty. I think this color would look great on anyone, it is a pink plum.

Lips -mark - Glitter belle lipcolor
lindseylouike 11/9/2005 9:24:00 PM
I got these in bejewelled and bedazzled, and I like them a lot, though I don't know if I'd wear them on an everyday basis--either days I'm feeling gutsy or for going out at night. They are very sheer with a lot of shimmer, besides adding color, they give my lips a radiant glow. They feel very nice and moisturizing on the lips, and last as good as any other regular lipstick. They are very similar to Clinique's colour surge bare brilliance, though the shimmer is much prettier. Bejewelled is deep deep pink in the tube, but a medium pink on the lips. Bedazzled is a ruby red in the tube, and sheer cool red on the lips. The packaging is fun, too.

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance - Chocolate Ice
lindseylouike 6/22/2005 10:23:00 PM
I love the CSBB line of l/s--they're sheer, comfortable to wear, subtly glossy and sparkly. This color is brown toned sheer red. I think it would probably look good on everyone except the very fair. Like all the other CSBB, it doesn't have very good staying power--doesn't get through a meal or snack.

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance - Berrylicious
lindseylouike 6/22/2005 10:08:00 PM
I never would have even tried this one if I weren't in love with CSBB line. A pretty plum that goes on a lot lighter than the tube color. Sheer, subtly glossy and sparkly. Not much staying power--it won't last through a meal or even a snack.
