Highlighters -MAC - Barbie-Pearl Blossom

Very pretty as a highlighter. It shows up ever-so-subtly on my face as I use it to highlight my upper brow bone. Such a nice touch adding depth and dimension to accompany a pink blush on the cheeks.

Beautiful Barbie ♥s MAC frost e/s. I was looking for a Nylon replacement and this one fits the bill and then some. It's a chalky, taupe tone, with gold hints to it. I use it for contrast to my darker e/s.

Blush -MAC - Don't Be Shy from Barbie 2007

part of my barbie ♥s mac haul...it's a pretty, bazooka bubble gum, plastic pink. i'm c4 olive-toned and it gives me a fresh, feminine, dainty look. highly pigmented and lasts many hours. it's bold for my skintone but i'm a bold kinda' girl...so i don't mind. ;)

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Glued [water-resistant] Spiking Glue
rated 5 of 5

finally....a drugstore brand that's cheap and holds my fine, stick-straight hair wonderfully (and i like to wear my hear big and fluffy)! i got the non-aerosol glued freeze spray and i use it as a finishing spray. the smell is tolerable to me, it's not like aquanet, final net, or anything. initially, i was debating upon deciding between the non-aerosol and the aerosol, since aerosol is what i'm used to (bed head hard headed, which i still love) i just went for the non. i'll try the aerosol once this one is done, though. =)

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar

there is so much to "brag" about with "bragg's" brand acv. this organic acv is the "bombastick" (for a lack of better words). it really makes a difference, in my experience, when using the organic versus the regular non-organic, i.e. heinz, etc. a few months ago, i tried the heinz, and did absolutely nada. i have been using the bragg's brand for a few days now and my skin is glowy, pores are less visible, zits are nonexistent, and it was that time of the month w/ no hormonal breakout, which is a total miracle! bragg's acv is my new bff. =)

Concealers -Jane Iredale - Disappear
rated 5 of 5
kimstar247 10/25/2006 2:51:00 PM

an esthetician showed me how to apply this one with a concealer brush. i bought it in medium and applied it at home with my mac concealer brush. i'm a former mac concealer (in the pot) user but transitioned to mineral...and i'm so glad that i did. the ji disappear comes in a tube so that eliminates having to use a sponge everytime. just squirt onto palm, stroke w/ brush, apply in criss-crosses, and feather out. dust powder over it (mineral in my case). a tad pricy but a little goes a long way. the ingredients are actually good for the skin, too. the coverage is just as good if not better than mac's (sans all the bad oils).

Liquid -Youngblood - Liquid Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
kimstar247 10/25/2006 2:43:00 PM

they had me at "liquid foundation that is good for the skin". nice & dewy. nice coverage. color matches my skintone (golden tan), doesn't clog my pores, i don't break out from it, and a local beauty supply store sells youngblood, so no online ordering necessary. did i mention that it's good for the skin? 'nough said. =)

Powders -Youngblood - Mineral Rice Setting Powder
rated 5 of 5
kimstar247 10/25/2006 2:36:00 PM

initially bought the "dark" rice setting powder (the sa said that it's almost translucent w/ no color really). it was SO orangy dark on me. eek. went back & thankfully, they let me exchange it for the medium. WAY better!!! i needed something to soak up my oilies throughout the day w/o adding more foundation-like powder to it. used to use mac blot powder but i'm steering away from any non-mineral face makeup. i'm 100% mineral for my face (excluding eyes & lipstick). it feels wonderful...kinda' like going organic for my makeup! i think that going mineral is the revolutionary way of the times. seriously.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Blush in Golden Gate
rated 4 of 5
kimstar247 10/9/2006 6:52:00 PM

i bought this along with with "beauty" be blush. i like the staying power, the face that it's highly pigmented, and it looks so smooth on the cheeks. another bonus is that the powder will stick to my blush brush so easily compared to compact blushes, so the application is quicker and easier. the color of "golden gate" is nice, a tad on the dark side for my medium-tanned c4 skintone. it's a warm color, so i'll use this in the fall and winter. looks rose w/ brownish undertone. wish it came in a better container....seems easily prone to spillage. overall, i'm loving loose mineral blushes! =)

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
rated 5 of 5
kimstar247 10/9/2006 2:46:00 PM

got a big ol' tub of this stuff and i've used it for my lips only (just the thought of putting in on my face makes me feel uncomfortable b/c it's really goopy and thick). since i don't like the idea of sticking my fingers into the jar everytime i apply and don't want to lug it around, i filled up my almost empty hemp lip balm dispenser. aquaphor really heals my chapped lips and makes my lips feel so smooth...i feel like i can smile wider! =D

not moisturizing enough for me right now since i've got flakies and such. imho, this product is just ok, maybe i'll go back to it when i'm less dry.

Skincare - Face -Evian - le Brumisateur
rated 5 of 5
kimstar247 10/9/2006 2:15:00 PM

my latest addiction. i use it before i moisturize and throughout the day for an extra kick. when i spray when i've got powder on, i will notice that it can make it cake at times, so i just buff out with my powder puff. i also use this at night after moisturizer. =) adorable bottles, too!
