A red lover's red. It's a true red for sure. Definitely my perfect HG red. I would label it neutral, as it's not really blue-based or orange-based. If I were forced to choose, I'd say slightly warmer rather than cooler. It wears well for hours. I own a ton of reds, from NYX and DS brands to high end Chanels and Lancome, etc. This is my FAVE!!!
Wow, I have to say, this might be one of the very best concealers I've used. It did NOT settle into fine lines today, when I tried it out for the first time. I have tried tons of concealers, so this was a great surprise. I was thrilled with the color match to my pale skin, which is always a primary worry with concealers.
Love the weightiness of the tube. It makes me feel special and the product seem expensive/refined. I like this a lot; as the others say, it's not super flagrant orange craziness on the lips. Very wearable. Fun. Modern and perfect for this year of the color orange everywhere. The staying power is great too. Sephora, you score.
This perfume isn't anything to write home about, as in it isn't really unique in any way. Still, does smell good in general, despite its not lasting long. It's quite innocuous for any occasion, however, so I keep it on my shelf for when I want to add a little something without being too noticeable.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

I really like Moisture Surge and Clinique products in general. It is in no way meant to tackle very dry skin, but it is great alone for summer or above/underneath another moisturizer in the winter depending on how dry your skin is. I use Moisture Surge and then top that with my day cream, Clinique Repair Wear for normal to dry skin. It works very well. In the summer, I may just use one or the other!
Lips -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar - Stalker
gingersnap250 3/27/2012 8:42:00 PM
I love OCC's lip tars, and I have about five or six. This is the only dark one I have. It is a red-lover's red, if you will...given that it is bright, but has a blue undertone. Usually, I like bright reds with orange undertones, but this looks gorgeous on my pale skin. I first use balm and rub it off to condition my lips but without making them sticky or greasy. Then, I line my lips with red liner and fill them in completely, and use a lip brush to paint on the lip tar. You really need a tiny amount to cover the entire lip. Then, I wait till it dries and add clear gloss over top, and it lasts for hours as such. Very gorgeous!
I really love this lipstick due to its mega-brightness...which just makes me...happy! Even my fiance commented upon it, saying, "I like your lipstick!" That's not a common thing, as I have mounds of lipsticks. Of course, it might not be for everyday...but it's super fun with just a lil mascara!
Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - Repairwear- Intensive Eye Cream
gingersnap250 2/21/2012 4:48:00 PM
Avoid this eye cream. Despite my fair skin and freckles, I rarely am sensitive to any products, and this made my eyes go crazy with burniness/itchiness...I had to return to the Clinique Counter today, and I picked up All About Eyes eye cream. We'll see how that works.
Put this on for the first time today and wore it around just because! It's a very striking color, definitely a bright red orange. It's probably more of a summer color, but I tend to wear lipsticks and perfumes less as a seasonal thing and more as a mood thing! I am a redhead with very pale skin and blue eyes, so I made sure to wear just a bit of eye makeup, or I think I'd look too trampy. I saw people staring at me in my black coat, sunglasses, and red lips, and while it might have been bad stares, something tells me it was actually good stares! Glad I tracked this limited edition down :-)
Lipstick -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Lip Tar

This lip tar is excellent. It's a peachy/pinkish shade that would look especially good for summer. I'm a redhead, so it suits me perfectly, because it's slightly orange-y on me. It would certainly look great with a smokey eye. Lip tars are excellent, and Hush is one of my faves so far!
Lovely, complex scent. I can discern vanilla, licorice, and floral... It really lasts too. A scent that could be night or day, Lempicka is sophisticated and unique.
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss--COY

All the HIP products are great in general. They are high quality for a drug store product and have awesome pigment. This gloss is no different; I really love it -- a great color for a redhead like me. The only problem is that since it's pigmented (especially for a gloss) it tends to go on a bit splotchy, and it takes some doing to get it to sit as you'd want it to. I almost think I should try using a lip brush when applying this. Recommended!
It's not like I hate Vera Wang Princess, it's just that it is kind of boring, a bit of a 'young' scent...It is super-vanilla-y which I don't like. It isn't distinctive. On the positive, however, men do tend to like this. It is very feminine, but in a girlie way, not womanly. It isn't strong; in fact it's quite innocuous, so I don't see how anyone could outright hate it.
A gorgeous, distinctive fragrance. It is a bit old-school, but in an endearing, lighthearted, unfussy way...very floral and powdery scent. There is nothing else that smells like it. It is not a fragrance I enjoy wearing all the time, but once in a while, when I'm in the mood, it makes me totally happy!
Absolutely worth it! It is a fantastic 40s movie star red. I love the matte effect; it really lasts a long time. It's an excellent drugstore buy, and I'd recommend the other matte Revlon lipsticks as well, especially the nude. They really have the quality of any of my high end lipsticks (and I have everything from Chanel, Hourglass, Dior, Mac, etc.)
