Scrubs -St. Ives - Renew and Firm Apricot Scrub

I thought this would have more exfoliating beads in it. Not enough to make a difference at all. If you have very sensitive skin, this might be a choice for you, but for normal skin I don't see where this will have much effect. It does leave skin feeling soft and hydrated with is why I gave it 3 stars.

You get what you pay for! I should have known better. I have about 30% gray and may natural color is very dark (almost black). I bought this product in Dark Ash Brown just to apply to gray roots that were starting to come back. I saw the product at Big Lots for $3 and couldn't resist it. The product looked light orange when I applied it which scared me a little, but I noticed that it started changing to a dark ugly brown (which was better than the orange shade!). However after rinsing it out, my roots had turned a brassy ugly orangish color that is no way in the brown family......gold maybe, but not brown. Unlike other posters though, my hair came out very soft after applying the condidtioner which I mixed with another conditioner I already had. I don't recommend this product. Save a few more dollars and get another brand. There's a reason why this is only $3!!!

Light and fresh fragrance. I didn't know this was being discontinued, but I guess that's why I got it at 75% off. Too bad because this is really a nice summer fragrance.

Conditioner -Wen by Chaz Dean - Fig Cleansing Conditioner

I have thick coarse hair that is regularly relaxed, flat-ironed, and colored. Recently, I had a color put in my hair that dried it out, caused breakage, and dulled the appearance. I've used various shampoos, conditioners and leave-ins but my hair continued to look worse and breakage was out of control. I decided to use Wen as a last resort before deciding to just cut several inches off. I am very impressed. I applied 17 pumps to my shoulder length hair and applied 2 pumps as a leave-in. My results are soft, shiny hair that is full of body. I was also impressed because there was hardly any hair in the sink when I rinsed also just a very few signs of breakage when styling. My hair doesn't feel oily or heavy.... just soft bouncy and looks healthy for once. It actually looks better than it did after my last trip to the salon. If there was any negative it would be the smell. It wasn't bad...just not what I expected. I highly recommend especially for African American hair. Well worth the price.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color

I didnt care for this. My hair is naturally very dark brown, almost black, but is now about 30% gray. I decided to use this in Natural Medium Brown in order to start lightening my hair a bit gradually so the grays wouldn't contrast as much as they do with my dark hair. I left this in for 5 minutes longer than recommended to make sure the grays processed. However, I ended up with several gray roots still showing and my hair took on a reddish color. None of that would have been that bad, but the color dried my hair out pretty bad. I applied the conditioner along with a moisturizing conditioner and a leave in conditioner. My hair is still dry. Hard to explain because its soft, but very dry. I'll wait a few days and apply deep conditioner. I wont use this product again.

Highlighters -LORAC - Oil-Free Luminizer

Love this product. Would have rated higher if not for the pump applicator. Only a very small amt but the pump delivers way too much product. Aside from the pump, the product is great. I apply it to cheekbones, above eye brows, down the middle of my nose, chin area and just anywhere I want a slight hightlight. It really brightens my complexion and just gives me a slight glow.

Ok.... I'm a med-dark skinned African American and when I got this as a free sample, I was about the pitch it without even trying it because it's pink! Darker skinned ladies, don't be afraid of this. It's unbelievable, but it blends right in and gives a fresh healthy glow instead of a fakey made-up look. I love it.

I sprayed some of this on at Sephora today and please make it go away!!! It is the most disgusting cologne I have EVER experienced. So many have got it right as it smells like a metallic wet shaggy dog. It must work dramatically different on different people as I'm sure no one would want to smell like my right arm (where I sprayed the tester) right now. Definitely test before buying!

Treatments -Avon - Anew Clinical Advanced Dermabrasion System

Usually I don't like rating a product early into using it, but this product made such a dramatic change on me very early on, that I decided to go ahead and rate. I am still on level 1 and the fine lines that were on my forehead have diminished and just about disappeared. I couldn't believe it when I first noticed. My skin on a whole looks better, brighter, more refined. The only problem, I had was when I tried to use it 2 days in a row. I got a little irritation, but not much. I highly recommend (especially if you can get it from e-bay).

Treatments -Avon - Anew Ultimate Age Repair Elixir
rated 3 of 5

I got this in a special offer... thank goodness... and didn't pay the full price for it. I see absolutely no change in my skin. I would have rated lower, but I don't see any damage/irritation, so at least it's mild. Some have complained about the smell, but that doesn't bother me. What does bother me though is the big heavy bottle it's in. Sometimes I have to pump over 20 times to get the product out. Plus the bottle is heavy and you can't see how much product remains. No doubt that the bulk of the cost of this product is due to the packaging and not the actual product.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10
rated 2 of 5

I had a $5 coupon for this product, so I decided to give it a try. I usually use Clairol Nice & Easy to cover my gray roots, but this sounded like a good deal since I had the coupon and it only takes 10 minutes to color. First of all, you get a lot of dye. Way too much for my short hair. The applicator tip works great, but that comb is a little awkward to use in my opinion. Also, the smell of the product is unbearable. It made my eyes water and my nose burned. I literally had to open a window and stand in front of it for most of the processing time. I actually started rinsing at 8 minutes bcause I couldn't stand it any longer. I used the Dark Brown and it did turn my hair a beautiful color and colored all the gray roots. The bad part about it though is that it dried my hair out like straw!! I applied the conditioner and a leave-in conditioner to try to fix it, but they didnt' work. Today my hair is stiff, dry, and brittle. Not soft and glossy as the box promised. I've got an appt with my hairdresser tonight (just applied the color last night) to see if she can do something. I think any product that processes in just 10 min (8 for me!) is just way too strong. The smell should have been my first clue!

Hair Color -Clairol - Beautiful Collection Semi-Permanent Hair Color
rated 3 of 5

I used Dark Brown to cover grays in my darker brown hair. It suprised me that it did cover probably about 95% of the gray. It also left my hair shiny and healthy looking. The downside is that it didn't last but about 3 weeks for me. The other problem was rinsing the stuff out. I thought I would never get it rinsed out completely. Even after what seemed like forever trying to get it out, I noticed that I still had color deposits on my scalp. I'll go back to my Clairol Root Touch Up color, but if I find I need to do an emergency color close to my relaxer retouch time, I'll use the Beautiful Collections.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue

This smells ok, but I probably wouldn't buy (I had a nice size sample bottle). Others posted about a citrus scent, but I don't smell that at all. On me, its more of a woodsy scent with a slight musk to it. It's a very classy scent, but a very little goes a long way. However, it doesn't last long, which is a bummer. In my opinion, this isn't a casual scent... it's something I would wear in the evening. It's a little on the masculine side too (as a matter of fact at first I thought I had accidentally been given the men's version) but if you use the right amt, it can be very pleasant.

Way too strong for me. Thank goodness I only had a sample vial. I expected a light floral scent, but instead on me it was a heavy powdery sickening scent that unfortunately lasted over 12 hours. I am a "mature" woman and I felt this was even to heavy for me. I didn't detect the vanilla and candy smell that others experienced Would have rated it lower, but it definitely has a lasting scent.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Vitamin E Advanced Body Moisturizer
rated 2 of 5

First of all, the smell of this stuff is awful. It reminds me of bug repellant or insecticide. That would be tolerable, if it was a good moisturizer, but it's not. As a matter of fact, one of the most ineffective moisturizers I have ever used. I'll never purchase again.
