Eyeliner -Tarte - EmphasEYES waterproof clay eye shadow & liner

i have been lemming this liner since i first saw it on the Sephora website and wondered if i REALLY needed another black "gel" liner. MAC blacktrack fluidline is my go-to gel liner - but it does take a bit of time and re-application to get the line defined and dark so i have been using it less and less in favor of UD 24/7 pencil liners, but have been missing the precise line look of gel or liquid liners. Well i picked this up at Sephora and i think blacktrack may have been replaced! this stuff glides on like a dream but is SO much more pigmented than MACs fluidline! The brush is a fantiastic bonus - fine line, cat eye, smuged eye - it does it all with ease! i def want to purchase at least one more color of these - a littel goes a looong way - this sill last me forever! I am pretty oily and always use waterproof liner and mascara - and so far this has stood up through a hot and humid day no problem, def my new favorite liner <3
Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew

i find this lip balm very moisturizing and it lasts a pretty long time as far as lip balms go. it has a nice sweet scent and no taste which is nice. i could give or take the whole sphere thing..... i find it a bit annoying because i can't shove it in my jeans pocket - but it is easy to find at the bottom of my purse! i would like to try the stick formula ...... and put it in my pocket :)
i purchased this off of Haute Look for about half the retail price ( i think) and am mostly very happy with it. The color is great...reddish coppery color - that last FOREVER! seriously i have never come across a gloss with color that lasts as long as these do! the scent is ok... cherry cola i think? MUCH better than the disgusting "creme brulee" scent of the pocket rocket glosses. yes. the packaging SUCKS. i ordered two of the xxx glosses and this one (Gash) arrived with the tube already split halfway through where the threads are to screw on the cap. the long tube is a little silly, i am sad that these glosses are not pocket/purse friendly. would buy discounted again - but would probably never purchase at full price
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eyepencil in Oil Slick

ove this eyeliner! my first UD 24/7 pencil was bourbon - which i really really love - except that i couldn't find a sharpener that would work with it - every one i tried would over sharpen the color at the base of and would break it off...i was sad i was never able to get the same precision tip :( at sephora i saw they had the 24/7 duos with the UD grindhouse sharpener and figures what the heck. i LOVE this color (oil slick) and can see it being a daily wear for me . i do love my MAC blacktrack... but gel liners take more time for me to apply and this pencil is a snap. great color and a tiny bit of shimmer... glides on great and lasts all day with shadow set over it . the price is pretty steep for a pencil - i will probably only purchase as a set - but will hunt for it again! as for the grindhouse sharpener - i haven't used it yet and just read on these reviews that Wet n Wild makes one that works well - oh well live and learn. fingers crossed :)
just picked this up from my local CCO and am pretty pleased. i love the color Sharp, it is very similar to the green color in the NARS Rated R duo - but Sharp has better staying power imo. Tempting is my least favorite in this quad - very little color - mostly just glitter fallout. this palette was 20$ - so worth it for the other 3 colors :)
Eyeliner -Sephora - doe eyed Felt Eyeliner in Black
dirtyrat 4/22/2010 6:34:00 PM
good color saturation and glides fairly easily. i didn't find this liner to be all that water resistant as it did run all over the place after a couple of hours. i still prefer gel or pencil eye liners. would not repurchase.
i LOVE Urban Decay's deluxe shadows and have lusted after this palette for months. after getting the UD sustainable shadow box and being a little let down with all the glitter fall out. that's why i love the deluxe shadows - they are all shimmery without all the damn glitter! Yes the colors are very bright and pigmented - so this is a great palette for doing a bright vibrant eye - but the colors can also be played down for a less-intense look. Overall i really like this palette and reach for it quite often. i am set for my UD eyeshadow fix for awhile :)
Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
dirtyrat 4/10/2010 11:57:00 AM
Pink leopard is in the Bronzed and the Beautiful set, and so far it is the one i use the most. i am in my early 30's and i really have to be careful and use a super light hand with this not to look too disco - ball-y. it's not glittery exactly - but VERY shimmery and the first few applications it really looked crazy - i used too much and shimmer was accentuating the fine lines all over my face - ones it didnt even realize i had! the trick i found is to just swipe once gently with the brush and tap off excess and LIGHTLY swipe on JUSt the cheekbones, and then up onto temples. when used right it def delivers a very nice glow - and i love using as an eye shadow/highlighter! said i would not repurchase - just because such a little goes a long way i will never use it up!
I am not a big fragrance person - and my husband is allergic to most perfumes. Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee is my HG scent - but i was on the hunt or a lighter smell for spring/summer. i LOVE the Daisy fragrance after using a tester of the full sized, but was not yet ready to commit to paying for a whole big bottle. i was excited to find this in the rollerball for a somewhat decent price and bought it. i def. still love the smell, but this fades SO fast!! within a few hours i can't smell at all. booo would not repurchase just because of the lack of staying power.
Misc Beauty Tools -Tarte - Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler
dirtyrat 4/8/2010 4:53:00 PM
i was on the hunt for the shu uemura curler which my Sephora does not carry, and the s/a suggested this one as being as good as shu uemura. i have used this curler a handful of times - and i DO like the end result waaaay better than my old Revlon curler ..... but i have issues using this curler. as everyone else said - not having the finger loops takes getting used to. i never even gave a thought to the fact that it doesn't have the same loops as other curlers - and in my case there is definitely a learning curve. i have a hard time getting all of my lashes in the opening, and every time i have used it have pinched the holy hell out of my eyelids! i have been using an eyelash curler for at least 15 years and i have never had such an issue pinching myself. i am hoping this is all user error that i will correct with more use - because i REALLY love the curl i am left with when i am done torturing myself. :)
I am also surprised by the bad reviews for this palette. I have eyed all of theses palettes and honestly didn't expect much from them - and i am not a Kat Von D fan so i was reluctant to fork out $$ for her products :/ this was an impulse buy that i was sure on the way home i would regret. i loved the summery colors in this palette - especially Sugar Skull the light creamy golden colored one - which looked like a dupe for MAC's creme brule from the Hello Kitty Lucky Tom palette, and is my favorite highlighter but they don't sell as a single :( luckily Sugar Skull is even BETTER!! best highlighter ever. all of the color are super pigmented - literally i just have to barely pat my brush on these shadows to get great coverage! the purple cream (True) seemed to make the colors a little harder to blend out - but i find they pop just as well with easier blending over UDPP. this is the first time i have had a cream shadow in a palette - and i do see the possibility of drying out fairly quickly - so we will see. either way - i am really glad i picked this one up - i can see it being my go-to summer palette.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Spandex
dirtyrat 3/25/2010 8:19:00 PM
this is my first UD glitter liner - and i must say i am impressed! as someone stated before - it looks great over black liner - it's a quick and easy way to perk up your eye for a night out. i like that the brush is super fine and you can pull off a nice narrow clean line no problem. yes if you want a solid glittery line you do have to draw over the line a time or two - but it's super fast and stays put. i would repurchase - and probably a few of the other colors as well.
i happened to complain about fine lines under my eyes and i got the whole "look at this amazing line filler! give me your palm and i'll show you how well it fills the lines on your hand!" from the m/a at the MAC counter and she dabbed some onto a crease in my palm - and voila! line was barely noticeable! but had i mucked around the store awhile longer and re checked my hand i would have seen that the "line filler" works for approximately 3 minutes and then poof - line is back to normal. alas i impulse purchased and was excited to try this product out. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. there wasn't even the noticeable difference i saw with the line on my palm. NOTHING. nada. so i applied concealer next just as i was advised, and my concealer turned into a clumpy goopy mess over this product. so. an expensive product that doesn't even come close to doing what it claims to, and it makes a mess of anything you put over it. ABSOLuELY would NOT repurchase. this is going back to MAC or up for trade
bah i bought into the hype and gave this mascara a try. actually i gave it about a weeks worth of tries, and i still feel the same way. Not. Impressed. i have used drugstore mascara (L'oreal makes a decent one) that are the "tubes" that work better than this fiber mascara did for me. the formula is very wet - and clumps VERY easily - and the slightest moisture (rain, sweat, tears) make the fibers slide right off - and then i had black sticky mascara chunks all over. i really don't see any added volume at all, even after applying several coats. as for lengthening - if you have about 10 minutes to dedicate to allowing to dry and then reapplying coat after coat - i was able to achieve decent length - but the ends of my lashes we all wispy looking like the fibers were pointing every which way. i tried combing them between coats - still thin and poking every which way. also i can't SEE flakes, but i swear i can FEEL them in my eyes. bummed. would not repurchase. DiorShow Waterproof is still my fave!
i was in need of a medium gray e/s and this was it. great as a lid color with humid or club in outer corner/crease. this is a great color for a neutral eye - but also goes well with bright colors too. staple in my e/s stash
