Fragrances -Paris Hilton - The Fragrance for Men
rated 4 of 5
brianx 11/12/2005 12:17:00 PM

Here's the official description:

The Cologne defines the new rules of attraction with a fragrance of daring, combined with ultra-masculine quantities. The unexpected initial impact is a combination of open Sky Air accord, with tempting wet Fig Leaf and fearless Green Mango. All the senses are triggered from the first instant. The heart of this fragrance gives it momentum, with a high voltage encounter between elegant White Sage, energetic Juniper Bud and modern Hydroponic Basil. This carries the original seductive qualities of the top note. A promise of discoveries evolves, as the base notes unfold. Vibrant Moroccan Cedarwood, hypnotic Cucumber and primal Bare Amber create a deeply seductive blend. The fragrance evolves toward an uninhibited sensual dimension that is Paris Hilton Men.

You definitely smell the mango. It's rather 'fruity' for a mens fragrance, but I like that.

Fragrances -Paris Hilton - All Products
rated 5 of 5

I don't care for Paris Hilton, but this scent is glorious. In fact, it's one of my signature scents! I love it so much, and there really is nothing else out there that's like it. To me, this is a mix of gummi bears with some added floral notes, which is just perfect. I'd buy it again.

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - NEW Pressed Eye Shadow - ME Green 550
rated 5 of 5
brianx 11/12/2005 11:50:00 AM

Shu Uemura has newly reformulated its pressed eye shadows, and ME 550 is the metallic emerald green that we all once knew and loved as the infamous ME 555. It's still the same great colour, which can go on intensely or as a sheer wash of colour depending on application. Of course, I'd buy this again. I love the new packaging!

Moisturizers -Shu Uemura - Depsea Moisture Recovery Emulsion SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
brianx 11/12/2005 11:23:00 AM

This is a newly-released version of the Depsea Moisture Recovery Emulsion, now featuring SPF 15 sunscreen, which I find beneficial. This moisturiser leaves my skin looking and feeling refreshed, rejuvinated, supple and smooth, not at all oily or sticky. Great moisturiser for my combination skin. I'm definitely purchasing this again.

Lips -Jean Paul Gaultier - Tout Beau Sneaky Kiss Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5
brianx 11/6/2005 4:52:00 PM

Although it's a rather expensive lip balm at $18, I absolutely love it. It leaves the lips with a soft, supple, hydrated feeling and isn't at all too greasy. It is available in three shades: Naturel (clear), Peaux Claires (fair nude) and Peaux Mates (deep tawny). I own it in Peaux Claires, which is a gorgeous sheer fleshtone. Peaux Mates is still a neutral YLBB but is a hint more tawny and isn't at all unflattering. I would definitely purchase these again.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Sundance Duo
rated 2 of 5

I didn't like this duo. It's just a more muted rehashing of Mediteranee with less shimmer and less pigmentation. I say stick with the original!

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Baked Collection Baked Smokes
rated 5 of 5
brianx 4/11/2004 6:13:00 PM

Physician's Formula really impresses me! These shadows are amazing. The quality rivals such high-end lines as MAC and Stila. This trio is so great for a smoky look, and I like using them wet for a more intensely pigmented and dramatic effect.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Taste of Strawberry-483
rated 5 of 5
brianx 4/7/2004 9:04:00 PM

I love this gloss. It is a sheer, mauve-based pink that is basically a YLBB shade on most people. It is neutral and virtually the color of most people's lips, yet adds shine and sparkle (yes, glitter). The texture, as with all Addict glosses, is not sticky... it is more moisturizing and soft than it is sticky, and provides pretty good wear. I'd buy this, among many other Addict shade, again and again!

Crème -Christian Dior - DiorSkin Eclat Doux Compact Foundation
rated 5 of 5
brianx 3/12/2004 8:37:00 PM

Eclat Doux is the new cream-to-powder foundation in the DiorSkin line, and it has become my favorite! At first, it is very soft and creamy, and once it touches the skin turns to a soft powder that delivers a very natural-looking semi-matte finish. It sets instantly and lasts all day. Very moisturizing, but great for all skin types. The packaging is a lot like MAC's Studio Fix: a sleek compact with a section for the foundation pan that flips up to reveal the sponge underneath it. My only gripe about this foundation is that it is rather HEAVILY perfumed. If you can't stand fragrance and this foundation still persists to bother you, spray it in the eyes with mace and run in the opposite direction.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - Ombre Plume
rated 5 of 5
brianx 3/10/2004 8:57:00 PM

The best eyeshadow ever, period. Definitely beats MAC paints as a shadow base! It's so sad that this product is so often overlooked, mainly because the shade range is so limited. My counter only has 2 nude shades, a brown-bronze and a matte mint green :( Nonetheless, I still love them. They come packaged lipgloss-style in a tube with a sponge wand applicator. Once blended and dry, these last ALL DAY (and then some!) on your lids, without creasing. I would definitely purchase again and again and again and again, and I hope this product won't ever be discontinued! :(

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Lip Contour Creme
rated 5 of 5
brianx 3/10/2004 8:39:00 PM

This is part of the CAPTURE collection. It's actually called CAPTURE LÈVRES. This is a soft cream that smoothes lips and minimizes fine lines. It sinks in rather fast and leaves the lips unbelievably soft and virtually line-free, instantly. It is the most amazing base coat for lipstick, liner or gloss!

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Nibble of Nuts-123
rated 5 of 5
brianx 3/10/2004 8:30:00 PM

I love Addict ultra-gloss! Not only is it long lasting and not overwhelmingly sticky, the texture is light, not too watery, and the shades are all very neutral and gorgeous. This shade is very light skintone "nude," but goes on very neutral goldish shimmery champagne. Lightens the lips a bit, but not enough to make you look dead like a matte flesh-toned lipstick would.

Foundations -Milani - Creme to Powder
rated 5 of 5
brianx 2/7/2004 5:11:00 PM

At first, I was skeptical of this foundation (mainly due to the price and the fact that it's drugstore). After a while of experimenting with it, I've learned to like it. The texture is extremely creamy, but not greasy. There is a heavy fragrance, though, which may turn some people off. The sponge that comes in the compact is great, as the previosu reviewer stated. This would work for any skintype, including oily, because while it is moisturizing this foundation isn't overly oily. It dries down to a smooth powder finish that is flawless-looking, however this foundation can tend to look *somewhat* cakey, which can be both a good and bad thing. I highly recommend this foundation to fellow make-up artists because the coverage is very nice, especially when applying with a stippling motion and layering, and it leaves the skin with a flawless and smooth appearance. It makes the skin look airbrushed when photographed. Plus, it's very cost-effective and affordable.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Seascape 250
rated 5 of 5
brianx 2/3/2004 5:26:00 PM

Seascape is a new 5-colour eyeshadow palette for Spring 2004. This bright pastel e/s quint has a shimmery metallic white with silver glitter in the center. The e/s above it is a shimmery soft sky blue that has a slight tinge of turquoise in it. It resembles MAC Electric Eel in the pan, but is much less severe on. Below the white e/s is a soft pastel pink. The other colors are pastel sea green and a soft lavender.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 1-Couleur Shadow in Lavender
rated 5 of 5
brianx 12/23/2003 9:32:00 PM

This shade is part of the new line of single shadows. They're round, and the same size and shape as the center circles of the 5-color shadow palettes. Lavender is, well, Lavender. It is the truest Lavender e/s I've ever seen. It looks gorgeous paired with Sky and Snowball :D
