Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

I like this stuff. In fact, I'm just using up the last of mine this week so I decided to write a review. This is a very "luxe" feeling product - it's super creamy and has a cooling effect on your skin. I think it does keep eyes hydrated and sometimes I feel a little tingling or tightening, nothing uncomfortable, just think it's working. I had a completely stressful year or two and was getting super paranoid about fine lines under my eyes - but after using this I'm pretty sure my skin was just dehydrated. I've stepped up my water & skincare and my eyes look vastttlllllyyyyyy better, thank gosh! I am going to try another eye cream just b/c I'm kinda fickle like that but I would certainly recommend to a friend and repurchase in the future!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation

I'm just finishing my 2nd bottle of this stuff. I love it. It's lightweight and best applied with my fingers... it's almost a gel formula, strange consistency but it works. Although it's lightweight the coverage is better than a tinted moisturizer for some reason - not as sheer but still light, it also doesn't get quite as oily as a TM. And it doesn't "slide" on me. However, for those of you who want your makeup to stay on for 12 hours, I don't think this does. And it's not matte...I've got oily no matter what, but I've just embraced it... I just use blotting sheets as necessary. (For the record, I've tried MUFE HD and MUFE Matte Velvet + and both are OK but nothing that I would repurchase.) This is def HG for me.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM

I am running out of this stuff and ready to go buy another. I'm a fickle person and unless I really like something, I rarely repurchase... I'm always on the "hunt". But I gotta say, I'm impressed & comfortable with my Cerave PM, I have no desire to find anything new. It's lightweight where it doesn't feel heavy or like it's clogging pours, but somehow it leaves skin moisturized & gorg the next morning. Love!

Cleansers -Alpha Hydrox - Foaming Face Wash
rated 5 of 5

I have combo skin that is mildly acne prone...mostly hormonal. A few weeks ago, I went to the beach and my friend gave me facial sunscreen...it made me breakout horribly for 2 weeks, with whiteheads, pimples and cystic. I was mortified, didn't want to leave my house...went to sephora, dropped $$$ on Peter Ross (???) products which didn't make much of a different. Cue Alpha Hydrox. I live in NYC so didn't think I could get it anywhere... we don't have walmarts or quality drugstores... duane reade is trash. Someone recommended Price Wise and I looked all over, and I was in luck...after 15 minutes of searching. After 2 weeks, and at the beginning of "that time of the month" (when my skin is normally the worst), my skin looks great.... I use it twice a day and have been so pleased with the results, I'm thinking of buying the other products!

Concealers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Concealer

I dunno, me and concealer don't get along. I just don't like it. I use this concealer, it pretty much does the job. I mean, I really just use a swipe under my eyes and around my nose to smooth out any dark circles or redness. I wouldn't use it on blemishes, as it doesn't seem like it would give much coverage. Although, it's cheap and works dandy for everyday light use.

Liquid -Maybelline - Pure Makeup [DISCONTINUED]

So for some reason, drugstores (Duane Reade, CVS, Rite Aid, etc) in Manhattan don't carry this CG Smoothers, so I had to find a cheap replacement. I asked MUAers for a product similiar to CGS, and they came back with this. I like this product, it is definitely a little heavier than the CGS, but it's good for when you want a little more coverage or a more "done up" look. They also come in a variety of colors, so it's easy to match your shade. The packaging is a little annoying for some reason. I always cut the bottom of the tube open when it's "done", and you can get a few days worth if you do that. (Cheap, I know, but seriously - I hate spending money on makeup!)

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer in Light to Medium
rated 5 of 5

This has been my HG for 8 yrs. I started wearing this when I got to college, b/c I had never worn makeup and foundation seemed really heavy to me. This stuff is amazing! I use it every single day, it's really light, and it's very transparent and it feels moisturizing. It kinda just gives you a little color, a little coverage... I'll use concealer if I have any blemishes. I also throw on some cream blush and I'm out the door. Don't waste your money on Trish McEvoy or Clarins, it's so pointless....all you need is this, and its only $7 at Target! I will die if they discontinue this.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Smokey Eyes Tutorial

So I received this as a gift and I have to say that I have tried for a few years to perfect the smokey eye look. Being a tomboy, I'm hopeless at putting on makeup...eyeshadow in particular. My best friend, fed up with my constantly asking her to give me a smokey eye, bought me this kit. Personally -- the brush that comes with the 3 eyeshadows is worth the price alone. It really helps! Plus, I love the colors, and that they are loose eyeshadows. But really, the brush is awesome... I use it for more than just smokey eyes... I use it with my eyeliner when I screw up... it's great.

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush in Whipped Strawberries [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
bluegreyeyes 4/13/2009 1:47:00 PM

Love this product -- I have it in this color and soft plum... I'm a cream blush/gel blush whore... this is by far my best. I even like it better than Stila convertible cream blush. I have dry skin so the mousse texture is better than the cream, which sometimes doesn't rub all the way. I will def buy this again, it's an HG for me.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 1 of 5
bluegreyeyes 9/28/2007 10:37:00 AM

I got this as a sample in a Nordstrom promotion. I had hear rave reviews of it, esp. in magazines like InStyle. I normally use NARS primer, but thought I'd try it, since it was free. OH MY GOSH. I got a terrible rash on my face... it was rediculous. Plus, the consistency of this stuff is just...akward...I don't like putting it on my face, it doesn't feel right.

Lip Treatments -Kiehls - Lip Balm #1
rated 5 of 5
bluegreyeyes 9/28/2007 10:34:00 AM

OBSESSED SINCE 1999! I can't get enough of this... I have it in my drawer at work, in my purse, my nightstand, my jackets, etc. I have every single type of Kheils: small tub, large tub, tube, baby's chapstick, tinted, etc. I loveee it. ALL of my friends are hooked on it, and they give it as gifts. Seriously, what a cult beauty item. People always ask me "oh what's so great about it?" JUST TRY IT. Moisturizing. Flattering. Addicting.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 4 of 5
bluegreyeyes 9/28/2007 10:30:00 AM

I made this mask using generic aspirin tablets, tea tree oil and vitamin E. It truly does work. Honestly, it is *very* drying, afterwards, I had to put vaseline on my lips constantly. But it really does help dry up any problem areas, esp. if you are prone to cystic acne. I would definitely use this again, esp. right before my period when my acne is most prominent. Great mask.
