Treatments -Beyond Belief - Vita C Antioxidant Serum

Great stuff, especially for the price. I tried expensive C serums and making my own but I'm just too cheap and busy for both of those options right now. This is a great C serum at a very good price. Everyone is right about the pump, it releases way too much product and you have to cup your hand over the nozzle, but I just put it all over my face, neck, and chest where I have sun damage anyway. I'm on my second bottle and intend to repurchase...although I saw mentioned on the skin board recently that someone thought the formula has been changed. I hope this isn't true. I'll research it more and update here if I find anything. Luckily I have a full bottle of the "older" stuff for now.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Correctionist Time Correcting Creme with Line Blox Complex

This really nice older SA at Sally raved about this so I decided to give it a try. I'm weary of harsh things like Retin-A and all the flaking and redness that comes with it. This has surpassed my expectations so far. I use it at night on my face and am really liking how my skin looks and feels when I wake up. I use it morning and night on my neck (where I have deeper rings) and I don't know yet if it is reducing those lines, but it has only been 2 months so I will give it more time. So far, this has been a nice addition to my skincare routine. I'll update after using it longer. My skin: Early 40s, dry-to-normal, some fine lines but overall pretty good.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Podiatrist's Secret Total Foot Recovery Cream

I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I bought it on an impulse at Sally last year and didn't really have high hopes - the packaging kind of looks like a cheesy "As-Seen-On-TV" kind of product - but the SA said it was great. It's amazing. I put it on with socks overnight and my feet are amazing in the morning. I honestly get less pedicures because of this product. It's not greasy, it's the perfect consistency. I'm seriously considering putting this over my whole body some night and sleeping in long pjs. HG product for me.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
rated 4 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 11:12:00 PM

I like this mascara. I bought it without reading reviews and figured I would regret it, but I've been using it for about 2 months now and keep turning to it over all the other mascaras I have. I like dramatic lashes and this gives them with only a coat or two. Not too much clumping. I've never had smudging with any mascara so I can't speak to that. It's not HG but I haven't found HG yet so until then, it works.

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
rated 4 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 11:07:00 PM

I like this mascara. I don't love it to pieces because I tend to like pretty dramatic lashes and this doesn't do that. But it does give nice, feathery, soft lashes and I think my eyelashes fell out less when I used this. I would use this for a daytime look at a professional job. I didn't notice any growth as a result of using this but my lashes are pretty long already.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverCreme Intense Nourishing Conditioner

HG. Perfect for my highlighted but pretty healthy dryish hair. I love this and the matching shampoo so much. I'll cry if they ever discontinue these. I love the smell and the price, too. My hair is that fine-but-a-lot-of-it thing that stylists say and tends toward dry - this keeps it silky and happy but doesn't weigh it down.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter -Quince
rated 5 of 5

These Korres lip butters are what I wear on my lips probably 95% of the time, and of that I mostly wear the Wild Rose color, but I recently got this color and it's a nice change for summer. It's bright and pretty without being garishly bright. Definitely a good one to keep in the rotation.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Pomegranate

I'm totally obsessed with the Wild Rose color of this product, and this has all the same great qualities. Wild Rose will always be my favorite color, but it's nice to have some variety and this color is a nice, pretty coral that is great for summer. I'm afraid of bright colors but this is perfect and makes my practically unpigmented lips look healthy and pretty. Good stuff. I'll definitely buy this when I run out.

I love this stuff. I love it, I love it, I love it. This is my HG lip color - better than any gloss, balm, or lipstick. I've been using this almost exclusively for over a year now. I love that the color is nice and bright but not too bright. I love that as it wears off, it leaves a little bit of rosy stain but it doesn't look like your lipstick has worn off. I love that this is something I can wear with shorts and a t-shirt and also wear with a ballgown. I love that you can apply it without a mirror and it looks good. I love that it makes my lips look a little plumper but not overly drawn on. I love that, unlike a lot of "tinted lip balms" this one is actually moisturizing to my super dry lips, but it doesn't feel waxy or heavy. Have I mentioned I love this stuff?

Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Studio Moisture Tint SPF15
rated 3 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 10:16:00 PM

This product is nice. It feels nice on my early 40s dry-to-normal skin and is easy to match, color-wise. I guess my biggest complaint is that the coverage is very, very sheer - to the point of wondering if it actually does anything to make my skin look better. I also don't think it stays on very well because when I wash my face at the end of the day, there's hardly any color on my white washcloths. I guess it's good for a very casual day or something but it just doesn't do much.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 2 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 10:11:00 PM

Not impressed. I used this every few days when I first got it and it was okay. Basically a tinted moisturizer but with kind of a gross, gloppy consistency. Then I used it for 5 days in a row and ended up with a cluster of small pimples on my chin. I know that sounds hormonal but I've never had that happen once in 40+ years of hormonal changes. Not only that, it doesn't really offer any coverage. I didn't think my skin looked any better with it on or not. I'd rather use my MAC tinted moisturizer. My skin is early 40s, dry-to-normal, not prone to breakouts.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rated 5 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 10:03:00 PM

I should start by saying I have never regularly worn foundation in my 40+ years. Partially because I have good skin, and partially because every foundation I have ever tried - even expensive ones applied by SAs - have made my skin look WORSE than it is. Every time I have tried foundation, I look in the mirror and am horrified that my skin looks dry and dead, has lost all of it's glow, and my fine lines look more pronounced. So I have always stuck to either nothing or tinted moisturizer in the past. But I tried this stuff based on the reviews here and also because I feel like my skin is starting to look a little more uneven in tone as I get older. I am so impressed. This does what foundation should do - it looks like my skin, perfected. It doesn't look like I am wearing makeup like all other foundations I have tried, and it makes my fine lines look lessened, not more obvious. I love, love, love this. Been wearing it for a week in hot weather and it stays on. Haven't even used powder. No breakouts so far - I'll come back and update if that happens...and I'll cry too. Natural Beige is a perfect match for my skin. I don't know my MAC "number" but my skin always fits in the "medium" category when "light, medium, or dark" are choices, and if the choice is "light/medium or medium/dark", the darker one always works better for me. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. Also, I have early 40s dry-to-normal skin, generally not prone to breakouts. The pot it comes in is pretty but it definitely is heavy if you were to carry this in your handbag and I'd prefer a pump. I'll live. I will definitely purchase this again. I'm so pleased with how my skin looks and feels with this on.

Highlighters -Hard Candy - Glow All The Way in Glamazon Bronze
rated 4 of 5
blueeyescppw 6/27/2012 9:36:00 PM

I like this product but it takes a little getting used to and working with how to use it. When I first got it home, I put it all over my face and looked like a glittery oompa-loompa. I slept in it, though, and had a small "tan" when I washed it off in the morning. But I think there are cheaper products to use for self-tanning alone. Played with it some more and found that it makes a nice cheek highlight, I almost use it as a blush. I tried it as a contour cream but the glitter in the hollows of my cheeks makes it a little obvious for that. I've also used it LIGHTLY on my full face under foundation and that works quite nicely. Mixed with body lotion is pretty, too.

Wow, this broke me out. And I don't normally break out. The most I usually get are occasional tiny whiteheads around my nose, but this broke me out in large, red zits. I've never had a breakout like this in my life. My skin is early 40s. dry-to-medium. I'm using it on my neck and chest now and haven't had any problems there. But I certainly won't buy it again. Packaging is nice.
