Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection

i just discovered E.L.F and ordered a number of items online, after they arrived and i saw how good everything is at a good price i bought a second load of items and complexion perfection was one of them. firstly i use a concealer under eyes and then elf all over cover stick by dotting it on cheeks, chin, forhead and nose then blending with a wedge. This looks natural but there is still some discouloration so i used this, it evened out my skin toned and brightened it without looking unnatural or powdery. OR giving me a green/pink/blue or yellow face :) this is also mattifying so i will be using this as my setting powder and the translucent matte powder for touching up during the day which i also bought. the packaging is also very very good quality it is sturdy and has a nice large mirror. i applied with the elf complexion brush which i ordered at the same time. definatley worth the price.

Cleansers -LUSH - Ultrabland
rated 1 of 5
VickyS169318 1/23/2010 6:37:00 PM

first off i ordered this online and was expecting a large tub of product for the price i paid. When it arrived it was almost comical how small the pot is, but oh well i thought it must be good quality then. i rubbed this on my face and noticed how oily it is, the product didnt remove any mascara and hardly removed any of my other makeup (foundation). The other part is how to remove this product, you cannot remove it with water as it is so oily and even when i wiped it off with cotton wool pads there was still a residue. So in the end i used my other cleanser to remove it, which sort of made it pointless using the ultrabland in the first place if i needed another cleanser to remove it. After my face felt very greasy and clogged up, but i spose this would be perfect for dry skin iff you are willing to pay loads for such little product and fight to remove it from your face.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner - Dark Brown
rated 5 of 5

best eyeliner ive ever used. i got brown because i though it would be softer looking than the black. The colour is a dark brown as it says. I got this from QVC which came with a brush which makes the product really easy to apply. i use it on the top lashline and waterline and it stays all day! even on the waterline. This is good but it makes it hard to remove at the end of the day. The size of the pot is so small i laughed when i saw it thinking how much it costs, but you really only need a small amount so it will last. the consistency of the product is very smooth and easy to apply.

Lip Gloss -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
VickyS169318 1/23/2010 7:51:00 AM

i like this product, for me the colour is very bright so i only use a little and blend it so it looks natural. I like that it has a slight gloss but even after the gloss fades there is still a nice tint on the lips. the packaging is very pretty and there is a lot of product for the money. Some people say this is drying, i don't think it is at all.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Georgia ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5

i got this thinking it would be a lovely Blush for my pale skin. It is not a blush, the colour is so sheer and hardly noticable at all. It is best used on you face to brighten your skin tone, it also has a slight sheen which is good if you face is dull and matte. The packaging is good but i don't think the product is worth the price as it just doesn't show any colour on my face, maybe because the product is light and a similar colour to my skin.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste

The colour: i got the fair and found that the colour match was almost perfect, a little pinky coloured though. Also, there are only three colour options which is bad :) the packaging: the packaging is good and sturdy, the only downside is that you cannot reach the corners of the pot so they give you a little spatula (which you will probably lose by the time you need it) product performance: the product itself is very thick and creamy so only use a little bit as it spreads a long way otherwise it will look cakey. The coverage is medium to full and lasts well. One downside is that it looks shiny under the eyes so i have to apply powder which makes under my eyes look cakey and darker. the pot looks small for the price but it lasts and lasts. I bought mine on the 1st july and im still nowhere near finishing it.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Brightening Eyeliner

the packaging of this product is good and iis cheap but it really doesnt work at all. I got it in pearl white to use on the waterline so brighten and widen eyes. The pencil itself is hard and doesnt glide on smoothly, because of this the colour is not noticable at all. wouldn't buy it again, but it was worth a try because of the price. Maybe the darker colours will be more noticable.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
rated 1 of 5
VickyS169318 1/22/2010 5:22:00 PM

im fair and i use the all over cover stick in fair which is perfect, so i bought this powder in fair thinking it will be a similar colour. As soon as i saw the powder i knew it was too dark. I tried it anyway and it's so dark on me i actually use it as a bronzer :') believe it or not. so if you are fair don't bother buying it. I cant comment on its effectiveness as a powder because i can't use it as its too dark. :( oh well, it only cost £1.50 so it's not that dissapointing. Im waiting for the elf studio high definition powder to become available online as it is transparent. packaging is good.

Foundations -E.L.F. - All Over Cover Stick in Fair
rated 4 of 5
VickyS169318 1/22/2010 12:56:00 PM

i bought this online yesterday and it arrived today. The first thing i noticed was the price, i had to do a double take! £1.50!!!!!! because it was so cheap i bought too so if i liked it and ran out i wouldnt have to waste more money on shipping and if i didnt like it well it was only £1.50. first off, the colour is perfect. Whenever i get a foundation for my pale skin it is either too dark and orange or too light and pink. This is neither pink nor orange but it isnt ashy. The product is easy to apply and blend and gives medium to full coverage quickly and easily. I bought the foundation brush and sponge wedges aswell and used these to apply it which worked fine. The only downside is that when i got home and looked in the mirror my face was oily but this happens whatever makeup i wear :( so no big surprise there. I bought the elf blotting paper to help with this :) ALSO, the smell isn't very strong and is sort of a sickly sweet smell, but tbh i dont really care if foundation smells or not as long as its not a bad smell, which this isn't. another downside: the product is very small so i don't know how long it will last but because of the price it is worth it and i will probably buy it again knowing that im not wasting/spending a load of money and that the colour matches.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Foundation brush

This is a great brush for only £1.50. Other brushes i have used always leave streaks and this doesn't, although its quite thin it still works especially for the price. I would actually be happy to pay more for it.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Hair Color
rated 4 of 5
VickyS169318 12/24/2009 4:44:00 PM

i used the shade light natural cool summer blonde and used it on my already mid/light blonde highlighted hair. I left it on for the full 45 minutes and the colour has come out quite nice although it does look unnatural, but then it would i suppose. the kit also contains a conditioner and this seemed to work as my hair feels better than it did before i even used the colour. I don't know how long the colour will last like it is at the moment because although it says permanent it says lasts upto 6 weeks :S.. what? the only downside is that it smells, which is expected but worse, it does really sting for a couple of minutes.

Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
rated 3 of 5
VickyS169318 8/16/2009 6:35:00 AM

i have mixed views of this product.. firsttly i used mineral makeup in the past (everyday minerals and lily lolo ) which i really liked but have to order over the internet which gets a bit annoying. i also dont trust mineral foundations on the highstreet as they are not 100% natural. i read reviews and saw that this product had higher reviews than mineral foundations by loreal and rimmel so decided to buy it.. i got the fairest shade without even thinking because usually the fairest shade ends up being a little dark/orangey. i was pleasently surprised that it was pale enough HOWEVER it looks quite pink on my skin wich i didnt like and to get a decent coverage i had to apply about 20+ layers and i still wasnt happy about the finish... the good point is that it lasted a long time and did not get greasy.. only by the end of the day did it start looking a bit patchy p.s the free brush is small and scratchy

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup - Ivory
rated 3 of 5
VickyS169318 3/8/2009 3:47:00 PM

firstly, this is a good foundation for pale skinned people however only with pink undertones. I have neutral to slightly yellow pale skin and this was just too pink. I like the fact that this foundation has full coverage however because it didnt match my skin i had to apply it all over my face and i honestly looked terrible like i was wearing a mask as it is very heavy and there is no colour that matches my skin. On the plus side, the foundation stays throughout the day.
