I should have believed the reviews on this site and tried this earlier. I think if this were easier to get everyone would be using it. It makes my face really soft, takes off all my wp sunscreen and rinses clean. It's like magic, almost. I took one star off b/c it's so expensive and hard to get, but put that star back on when I thought about how effective it is and how little you need to use each time. I urge everyone to get their hands on this stuff and try it!
Mascara -Shu Uemura - Mascara Basic [DISCONTINUED]
SqueakyClean 10/3/2007 5:31:00 PM
This stuff is really expensive, but worth it, I think. It's not really dramatic mascara, but it does what it's supposed to do and man, does this stuff stay on! I've had no problems with flaking or smudging, even after rubbing my eyes. I have to take it off with cleansing oil, though. I love it for a natural, but better, look.
Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Concentrated Perfume Oil
SqueakyClean 10/3/2007 5:29:00 PM
Great stuff. I love the convenience of this and, in my opinion, it smells just like the EDP. No surprises. I haven't had any problems with the packaging on the smaller (.27 oz) size of this product. It's a bit expensive, but I think it will last a while.
Mascara -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - Semi-permanent lash tint
SqueakyClean 9/11/2007 8:57:00 PM
I really wanted to like this mascara, but it was a disappointment. It was hard to apply b/c it left clumps at the ends of my lashes. It left my lashes really matte and dry looking. My lashes are already dark, so I didn't notice any staining effect, but it might do that for people with lighter-colored lashes. I've used cheapo d/s mascara that works better than this for me.
Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
SqueakyClean 5/2/2007 10:28:00 AM
I'll add my name to the list of those who love this product. It's easy to use, the scent is subtle and non-offensive and it works! I feel like it is exfoliating my skin effectively, but it doesn't seem too harsh. That said, I might not use this every day b/c it's a little drying for me. That is certainly not enough to make me stop using this, though. Like another reviwer said, I saw a difference after one use - I love this stuff!
Whew! This is really smelly! In a bad way! This stuff is not "clean" in the same way that Pure Grace is. I feel like it's all melon, melon, melon. Really not for me. Not offensive, though, just not for me. At all.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - the lip scrub by sara happ
SqueakyClean 11/3/2006 11:06:00 AM
I actually really like this. After I orderd it I felt dumb b/c it was so expensive, but I think it's great! I got the brown sugar and the peppermint. Both taste great and are easy to use, I also think they're about a billion times more effective that the Philosophy one, which I tried last week. These are really dense, not goopy, and there is no artificial sweetener taste, which I hate. I'm definitely glad I got these, and I would buy them again. They're also pretty big - 1 oz. - I think they'll last a full year b/c you don't need to use very much.
Scrubs -Kiehls - Kiehls Papaya and Pineapple Face Scrub
SqueakyClean 10/31/2006 10:18:00 AM
The key with this product really is to leave it on the skin for a minute or two. Had I not know this, this would have seemed like the worst scrub ever. Fortunately, the SA told me how to use it, and I love it! Smooth skin, no stinging, unoffensive smell. I used to use the Mario Badescu enzyme clenser, but I like this much, much better. And the tube is super-easy to use. It can be a bit drying if I use it too often, though.
Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics SPF60-PPD28
SqueakyClean 10/30/2006 5:02:00 PM
I absolutely love this stuff! I can't believe I waited so long to try it! There is no noticible smell, which is great, and I love the finish it leaves on my skin. It does go on pretty shiny and sticky, but I find that the shine quickly fades and I don't notice the stickiness at all as long as I'm not rubbing my face all day. I tried Shiseido 55 before this, and it was too drying. The Neutrogena 55 was ok, but I could really feel it on my skin and it had a lot more shine that this stuff. The Neutrogena also had a flowery scent that I hated. I might try the dermo-peds spray this summer, but for now, this is perfect!
Moisturizers -Philosophy - when hope is not enough replenishing cream
SqueakyClean 10/29/2006 6:07:00 PM
When I first put this on, it seemed nice. Good, unoffensive smell, and went on nicely. But then it balled up. I touched my face inadvertently and found all the product rubbed off as soon as I did. I like HIAJ, and I thought this would be better. I was wrong.
Styling Products -Aveda - flax seed aloe strong hold sculpturing gel
SqueakyClean 5/9/2006 8:33:00 PM
I really like this product. The liquid texture makes it easy to put on my hair. The smell is a little strong, but it doesn't linger, and if you like Aveda scents you won't have a problem. It doesn't make my hair as shiny as the Aveda Forming Gel does, but this is a little more affordable. It has a nice hold, but it can be a little crunchy if you goop it on like I do.
Mmmmm - love this smell. I tried this a couple years ago and didn't like it, but someone told me to leave it on my hair, like I would with conditioner - it worked! I like it and it leaves my curly hair happy. I don't know how it works with the matching conditioner, though.
Lip Treatments -Boots - Mediterranean Almond Olive Mint Lip Wonder Balm
SqueakyClean 5/9/2006 8:14:00 PM
I really wanted to like this. Love the packaging, it's very easy to use - and so cute! It smells good and actually works pretty well - it's got a nice texture and doesn't smear all over your face like some lip balms can. But the mint flavor is not really strong and it leaves a funny taste in my mouth. Like an aftertaste. It's got saccharine in it, so maybe that's it.
Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Repair Serum with Attar of Rose
SqueakyClean 5/9/2006 8:08:00 PM
I didn't like this stuff. The texture was nice, very easy to use, but the smell! Ugh! I don't like the scent of lavender and this was way too strong for me. I liked what it did for my skin, but the smell will keep me from using this.
Treatments -Kiehls - Imperiale Moisturizing Cuticle Creme [DISCONTINUED]
SqueakyClean 5/9/2006 8:04:00 PM
This is good stuff! I've been on a little bit of a cuticle cream binge recently, and this is the best of the lot. No scent, which I appreciate. It starts out kind of greasy but absorbs quickly. My cuticles look better thanks to this. If you don't totally rub it in, though, it tends to attract lint.
