The pictures do not do this gloss justice. I bought some NYX items from their website a couple of weeks ago and this gloss was the only product I really liked--but oh, how I like it. It looks very blase in the container but transforms from an ugly duckling into a classy gorgeous swan once you put it on. I really thought it would be too nude, too peachy brown, but on my lips (with Rimmel Sweet Clover liner), it is absolutely gorgeous--makes my lips look so juicy yet polished at the same time. My only gripe is that it doesn't last long. I put some on before I went to pick up my son at the airport, and by the time I got home, it was almost all gone. :-) Still, I am going to go back to the website and order several backups.
I bought four of these duos off of ebay because I simply could not find any more of my all time fave blush, Jane Blushing Orchid Shimmer, in the drugstores any more. I feared it had been discontinued, and I wasn't sure I could live without it. I do own many blushes, including NARS and MAC blushes, but this Orchid blush suits my coloring better than any of the $$$ ones. So, anyway, I am happy now that I have four of these blushes, but I like the packaging of the single blushes MUCH better.
Treatments -Booths - Vitamin C Resurfacing Skin Peel Kit

I bought two of these for $5/each at a local TJ Maxx's a month or so ago. This kit is on par with the Olay resurfacing kit; however, I think this one is slightly better...the Vit C seems to lend more of a glow to my skin...at any rate, I now have enough product to last me for a few more months, so I am happy.
Love this lip balm! I used to think lip balm fanatics were a bit wacked but now I have become one...but only regarding this product. It makes my lips look so healthy and soft..It also sinks into my lips and seems to plump them, too. I wear this around the house, when I am out running errands, and under lipstick every day now. I really cannot see ever needing a different type of balm when this one is so effective. And it is relatively cheap. Plus, even once it wears off my lips remain full and soft. :-)
I have a friend who must spritz a gallon of this nauseating stuff on her before we go out. I love my friend but I have not been able to bring myself to tell her how much she stinks when she wears this crap. Why does she have to wear SO MUCH? I get a headache just thinking about it.
Weird product. Jane blushes are some of the best ones out there, but this one leaves splotches on my face.
I have a huge bottle of #5 that a fellow MUA-er sent me, but it smells too sharp and old-ladyish on my skin. But I loved the Elixer (sp?) and when this newer version of # 5 came out, I fell in love with it. It smells very warm, sophisticated, and youthful on my pale skin...I ran out to the mall yesterday to buy a bottle and didn't even care that the price was so high! ($125). This bottle should last me for years...I love the idea that Chanel is trying to update some of these classic fragrances. Here's to hoping they come out with even more versions of #5.
Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush

I own one of these and love it. In fact, I like it so much that I am going to buy another. Great brush for finishing powders. I haven't tried it for mineral foundation yet, though.
Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Long handled Kabuki

Love this brush. I own two. Soft, cheap, and effective.
I bought this on a whim when I had money to burn. When I got it home I realized that I had swapped away this same item once several years ago. My feelings remain negative, as this powder is too orangey (NC20), heavy, dry, and cakey for me to wear. When I wear it, it looks like a death mask, like something an Okie undertaker would smear on the face of dead grannies before an open casket funeral. Hey, I just felt like being insulting--haha. :-( I do hate this powder, though, although I'm sure you couldn't tell!
I bought this from MAC online because the nearest MAC counter is an hour away in Denver. Anyway, this is def. a blush for fair people! I am NC20 and it takes a while to build up color even on me. I do like it but this is more of a daytime blush for us PPPs...It gives a very natural flush. For going out at night I would have to use something a shade or two darker. For a reference that many will understand, this blush is about as light as Benefit's Dandelion, although the hue is slightly more dusty than Dandelion. But for shimmer and lightness, the two are about the same. Having said that, I think I will try it as a finishing powder and see if that works, too. :-)
I got a sample of this from an Estee Lauder counter in Denver and just love it. It is as close to perfect as one can get for a foundation. I am using it in Sand. I like that it goes on seamlessly and covers well...many people have compared this to Revlon's Colorstay, and I agree, but I think the color selection is better via Double Wear and that this brand gives a more flawless coverage. I will be buying this again.
Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lip Gloss in Trixie

I hate this gloss. The packaging is clunky and pretentious, and the color is a hideous bright pink. The tingly sensation it gives is very annoying and does not plump at all. Back to Sephora it goes. Good riddance.
I really was not expecting to like this fragrance, because I am really picky when it comes to scents. In addition, I look for fragrances that are appropriate for work, and because I teach at a college, I will not be taken seriously if I smell like a flower or a cupcake. (I use foody type creams and sprays at bathtime, though...but the scent wears off by the next morning.) But when I saw the classy, chunky bottle this scent came in, I really, really wanted to like it. I love beautiful bottles, such as the bottle Chanel's Sensual Elixir comes in (another of my fave scents). Anyway, I am completely smitten with this perfume! On me, it has slight fruity and flowery notes but there is also a clean note to it that keeps it from being one of those ultra-girly, silly fragrances that make me want to run for cover when I am stuck, say, on an elevator with someone who is choking me in clouds of decaying flowers (and invariably wearing too much makeup and spike heels). According to Sephora.com, this perfume has notes of mandarin, blackcurrant, violet, and blackberry, mixed with jasmine, heliotrope, and cedarwood. I am not sure which of these is the lovely light clean note I smell, but at any rate, it all works together beautifully.
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Pink Manhattan Purrfume

At first, it smells like the kind of verly sweet, fruity scent a teen would wear. Then, when the top note wears off, what is left is this rancid chemically smell. Not my thang, thank you.
