Gels/Soaps -Dove - Calming Night
RubyGemZ 5/14/2006 7:45:00 PM
I too, rec'd a sample bar soap of this and will be buying the full-sized version. While I'm stocked on body washes in general, I run thru bar soaps too quickly so I'll be purchasing the bar soaps. I esp. loved the scent. I feel that it is appropriate for the night as I take my showers very late at night. I can only imagine what the other products from the Night line will do. :)

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine Lipstick- Pink Shine
RubyGemZ 2/5/2006 11:59:00 PM
I'm on a tighter budget this year and happened to be strolling around Rite-Aid to stumble upon their new lipstick display back early to mid Fall. I was looking around for a good 5-7 mins. to closely examine their new lippies. I absolutely love the fact that the very top of the square cap is clear so you're able to see what shade it is. I ended up buying 'Innocent Pink Shine/Brilliant Rose innocence' b/c it closely resembled a shade I've been wanting to try for a very long time from seeing on somebody else (my family doctor, out of all the people lol). Turns out, it wasn't the exact same shade she wore but I'm still very happy with my purchase. It goes on very, very glossy AND shimmery. Two very important elements when I evaluate a lippie. It can go on somewhat bright but I found a trick to that. When applying on freshly cleansed, moist lips, it'll apply on beautifully and at other times, it will look more pigmented than need be. That's just something that I've noticed. I have always been (and probably always will be) a lipgloss type of gal but I'm very surprised that I've used it down to with only 20-30% of it remaining. That's how much I'm lovin' it. Before I used it alone but now sometimes, I pair it with CG Crystal WetSlicks in Crush and it makes my lips look so much more pouty. Two words, very kissable. I now have bigger smackers, lol!! =P

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine - Cranberry Shine 330A
RubyGemZ 2/5/2006 11:46:00 PM
I was looking for a nice, neutral red to wear for the festive occasion (around the time I had bought the lippie) and for the money, I had to buy it and try it out. It turns out, it is a Cranberry Shine shade but a tad bit darker than what I had intended. For the price, I can't really complain. It doesn't really have some shimmer to it despite what you can see in the tube. It has a nice texture and it glides on smoothly with a nice semi-glossy finish. For me, one application will do as it is quite pigmented.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Night Cream
RubyGemZ 10/1/2005 9:19:00 PM
I'm rather surprised at some of the reviews b/c I absolutely love this cream. This is probably one of the few creams that I have tried that leave a matte, silky finish. I wake up to smoother skin in the morning that is not as oily than opposed to not putting anything on my face at night. I didn't experience any burning at all like some of the other reviewers have mentioned. My only complaint is the tub but for what it does for me, I can't cry too much about it. =)

Cleansers -Dove - Facial cleansing cloths - sensitive skin [DISCONTINUED]
RubyGemZ 9/29/2005 12:39:00 AM
I really hate to find something that ends up giving me the opposite effect esp. when having to read about it on MUA. I bought a box as an alternative to my new favorite OoO Self-Cleansing discs which the drugstore did not carry at the time. I tried the sample of the regular version cleansing cloths a while back but still remember it leaving me dry after cleansing. I thought...maybe the sensitive version might be better. In a word, NOPE! It smelled nice, felt nice when cleansing, and lathered nice too but the end result did not justify the aforementioned. My skin felt taut to the touch and I noticed much more flakes than before. I will never buy these again...!

Moisturizers -Dove - Essential Nutrients - Night Cream
RubyGemZ 9/29/2005 12:33:00 AM
I bought the cream based on the reviews here. In the end, I didn't use it as much as I wanted to. Whenever I did, I applied this sparingly as it leaves a shiny finish on my skin and I have quite dry skin too. In the meantime, I have found something much better; Aveeno Ultra-Calming moisturizer. It may not smell as nice but at least it leaves my skin matte when thoroughly absorbed. I also found the Dove cream stung my skin but maybe that's b/c my skin is that parched. I have learned to always apply some toner or facial spritz when about to apply some facial cream and even with this, it stung sometimes. =T

Skincare - Body -DHC - Toning Body Tonic
RubyGemZ 9/24/2005 2:19:00 AM
I was given a very generous sample years ago and tried it in a week span. I'm quite surprised that this has rec'd such low ratings b/c it definitely worked for me. Maybe the formula changed? Anyway, I used this on areas where I had cellulite and amazingly, it helped minimize the appearance of them. @_@ ...wow! After I was done with the sample...they came back looking like it was before I had tried the tonic. I'm sure if I had used it consistently enough...they would disappear for good. Now I want a full bottle of this...but I'll just have to see if I can catch it on sale. ;-)

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar - Exfoliating
RubyGemZ 9/12/2005 7:00:00 AM
I love the feel of the exfoliating beads when gliding it along my skin but I'm not sure if it does any actual exfoliating... Still, I really like it far better than the plain old beauty bars. This one just makes things more fun. I suppose it's the same beauty bar except added with exfoliating beads. In any case, I would buy it over and over and prefer it over the original soap bars.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Cool Moisture Beauty Bar
RubyGemZ 9/12/2005 6:56:00 AM
I absolutely adore the fresh cucumber scent. I too, also rec'd a free deluxe sample bar some time ago. It lathered well and felt very refreshing. I would definitely buy a pack of these. I always thought the plan old beauty bars were a bit boring and this has been my new favorite from the line since the bar w/exfoliating beads in it. RAVE!!!

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Oil Free Moisture Gel
RubyGemZ 8/28/2005 6:32:00 PM
I had tried this twice, two separate times. The first time around it worked better on my skin and then I stopped using the gel and the rest of the regimen the bitchy SA recommended b/c I wanted to switch and try something new and more...effective. When I came back and it tried the 2nd time, it didn't work right with my skin like it had before. I was thinking maybe they changed something in the formula? or maybe my skin just got worse? I liked the smell and I LOVED the toner. <3 But the gel moisturizer did nothing and I ended up having to apply 1 or 2 more coats before I leave home for the day. In the end, it still didn't help much. My skin, as a result, felt sticky and silicone-y. ::cringe:: After that, I took that as a lesson and never bothered with the line again.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Advanced Solutions Daily Moisturizer, SPF 15
RubyGemZ 8/28/2005 12:31:00 AM
I am VERY surprised that this item rec'd such a high rating b/c I absolutely hated it. It must be very sought after b/c ppl kept inquiring about it on my swap list. Wow. I only tried it 3x before I officially confirmed my opinion about it. It went on greasy and did NOT help with my dryness at all. I almost tossed it but instead, threw it in my swap stash drawer.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Sunsplash
RubyGemZ 8/24/2005 2:35:00 AM
I guess I'm in the minority as I'm not as enthusiastic as the other reviewers about this lippie. When applied, the gold microglitter is sparse and is not really uniform, meaning not spread equally throughout. However, I do find it very shiny on but the scent and the numbness is particularly strong. I have to be careful and wear clear l/l all over underneath before applying this. Not my favorite but at least I'd still wear it.

Toners -Caudalie - Eau de Raisin Hydratante - Grape Water
RubyGemZ 8/13/2005 7:52:00 PM
I agree with the previous reviewer. It does smell bad...! I like my Evian facial spritz much better. It serves the same purpose and it's a little less costly. Back to Sephora this goes!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid in Pink Diamonds
RubyGemZ 8/3/2005 5:11:00 PM
Make no mistake, Pink Diamonds is not pink at all. I keep reading from the other reviews that it's part mauve but from what I can tell from my tube and on my lips, it's a shimmery brown cocoa/nude. It's one of the better formulas and shades out of the whole line b/c it's goes on very glossy and slick. Thankfully, the shade doesn't fade like a few other shades do. I think this makes for a great summer shade esp. if you have a bit of a tan going on. =)

Cleansers -Olay - Self-Foaming Cleansing Discs
RubyGemZ 6/12/2005 6:18:00 PM
I bought these very recently in the dry skin formula with "aloe" and already, I must say that I am quite pleased. It lathers and cleanses very well while leaving my skin very smooth. I could almost say that this could be a potential HG for me but I can't tell until some further use of it but so far, I don't seem to have any problems with it except...maybe for its price. Hopefully, I'm able to buy an industrial sized one at a wholesale store or something otherwise, if you do the math, it's about $3 per disc for me.
