Cleansers -Bliss Labs - clog-dissolving cleansing milk

This is by far my favorite cleanser! It has a milky consistency that doesn't dry out my combination, sensitive skin, it keeps my skin clear and free from annoying breakouts, it rinses clean with no residue, it removes all makeup and sunscreen, and it has a nice light fragrance. I took it with me on a cruise last year where I shared a cabin with my sister, and after using it for a week she went home and bought a bottle herself and has been using it ever since! I like to step in the shower, apply it to my dry skin, then turn on the water and rinse it off because I feel it cleans a little better on dry skin than on wet. For a while I tried to cut corners and look for a cheaper facial cleanser. I tried Neutrogena, Noxema, and a few others, but the day I came back to Bliss I remembered how much I love it. It's totally worth the price tag! I won't be switching again!

Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Pore Perfecting Facial Polish
PinkBeach 12/19/2009 10:24:00 PM
This is the best facial scrub I have ever used! I've been using it for 4 years now and still nothing else comes close. I sincerely hope it is never discontinued. When I first used this scrub it didn't have the small blue beads in it that it does now, it was only the microexfoliating paste. The addition of the blue beads doesn't make one bit of difference for my skin, I think Bliss just added them so people could see something that looked exfoliating. What makes this scrub great though is the exfoliating properties of the paste itself. It is composed of teeny tiny exfoliating pieces that leave my skin smooth and fresh without drying or damaging it. A tube is expensive at around $30, but I only use it a few times a week (although using it daily won't harm your skin, I just don't need that much exfoliation) and at that rate it lasts me about a year. Totally worth it! MY HG facial scrub!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub

What an awful facial scrub. There are far too few scrubbing particles and the ones that are there are too big. Plus the medium that the scrubbing particles are suspended in leaves a film on my skin. I barely get any exfoliation from this and it leaves my skin coated and gross. Check out the Pore Perfecting Facial Polish from Bliss if you want to exfoliate your face without residue, dryness, or any other ill effects. The Bliss one has tiny particles that leave my face clean and refreshed. It's way more expensive than this one, but so worth it.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner

This eyeliner, in Bronze Shimmer, is my HG! I've worn it daily since 2005 and am still on my first pot. It's amazing how long it lasts! And it lasts on my eyes too! I wear it in the waterline and smudged on my upper lid and it won't budge all day long, yet comes off easily with my Chanel eye makeup remover. The Bronze Shimmer color is perfect for me, giving nice definition without being too harsh. Love it!

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

This is by far my favorite foundation product. I have fair skin with a bit of redness that peeks through, but rarely have breakouts and don't like using heavy coverage foundations. This TM is perfect for me. It covers the slight redness I get and evens out my skintone while still letting a few freckles show through, so it looks like I just have good skin, not like I'm wearing a ton of makeup. I tend to get slightly oily on my forehead and chin, but have dry skin between my eyebrows and on my cheeks, and the consistency of this product doesn't accentuate the dryness or cause breakouts on the oily parts. I've used Stila TM, MAC Face & Body, Kiehl's TM, Prada TM, and more, and for a light coverage product, this is the best I've found. My color is Nude except when I'm exceptionally tan and use Sand.

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights

Finally swapped for this product and couldn't wait to try it out. I had read reviews warning of the old lady smell but that didn't stop me, although it should have! As for the effects this shampoo has on color, they're as great as all the preview reviews make them out to be. My highlights were noticeably brightened and cooler. It did slightly dry out my hair, but all toning shampoos do, in my experience, and I counteracted it by following with a moisture mask. If you're not sensitive to smells, you can ignore the rest of my review and rush out to buy this stuff. If you are, however, beware! In the shower the smell was bad, powdery, old fashioned, grandmotherly, but I rinsed out the shampoo and put on my apple-scented Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Treatment, thinking it would cover it up. Nope. Then I styled with PM SSS thinking the apple scent there would help. But no. So I threw my hair back in a pony tail so I wouldn't have to smell it. (Still could though, but not as strongly). Went swimming that night, and even the pool after my hair smelled like grandma, not like chlorine. Then I shampooed again. Smell is still there. My hair is pulled back at the moment. The one time I took my ponytail out and shook out my hair, I literally gagged and ran for the bathroom because I thought I was going to puke because of the wave of nauseating fragrance. (I didn't, thank goodness). The smell is dissipating, finally, but it's still there. There is no way that I will use this stuff again. I've heard that GVP (generic brand sold at Sally's) makes a dupe without fragrance, so I'll give that one a try next.
