Polishes -China Glaze - Moulin Rouge

This is my NotD and there's a party on my nails! This is hot pink creme base with holographic glitter, and it is spectacular! It applies smoothly like all ChG polishes, and is opaque in two coats. It isn't too scratchy to wear by itself, but a topcoat gives it a nice shiny finish and makes it look even better. This one is most definitely going on my 'Wear Often' shelf!

This shade was so totally made to be worn outdoors. It looks amazing with my pale skin, and the golden shimmer really gives it a beautiful dimension. Gorgeous summer colour which I would highly recommend.

Polishes -China Glaze - Sky High-Top

Gorgeous! I love how it isn't neon-bright. I do wish the beautiful shimmer would show up better on the nail though. It is almost totally opaque in a single coat, which is fabulous! I love to use this as a stamping base with a glimmer for the pattern. Will definitely replace it when I run out.

Polishes -China Glaze - Lubu Heels

I am in freaking LOVE with this polish. It's my favourite vampy glitter polish, and it makes my hands look soooo sexy. The glimmer is SUPER fine and subtle, but totally unmistakable. I haven't been able to purchase a backup yet, so to conserve the polish, I start with a base coat, 1 coat of 'Black Leather', and then layering two thin coats of 'Lubu Heels' over that. I love how if I don't have time to remove/change my mani, it is still subtle enough to wear to my fairly conservative office. Awesome!

Polishes -Color Club - Rainbow
rated 5 of 5

I love this polish. Its a gorgeous sheer silver-white duochrome, which flashes mostly pink but when the sun hits it just right, you get a gorgeous green flash. In one coat on bare nails, your tips are transformed with opalescent gorgeousness. Layered over any dark color gives the most amazing effects. It applies beautifully -- smooth and silky, dries pretty quickly, and leaves no brush strokes. Love in a bottle.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
rated 5 of 5

I can't apply liquid foundation without this anymore. Its the only thing that makes foundation blend into my skin properly, and if used correctly, makes makeup almost indetectable. Unfortunately, it sheds a little bit - I feel like I lose a fiber ever time I use it.

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Spa Concealer [DISCONTINUED]

Not quite YSL Touche Eclat quality, but a relatively good DS buy nonetheless. I have fine lines under my eyes and this didn't settle in them, which I liked, but I couldn't really use it as a concealer elsewhere on my face. Liked the packaging, and the brush is super-soft and easy to clean. No noticeable brightening as the packing claims, so another lippy off. I'll probably just stick to TE in future.

Liquid -Revlon - SPA Age Defying Foundation [DISCONTINUED]

Great sheer coverage foundation, which is let down by its horrendous packaging. Doesn't settle in lines (LOVE!!!) and melts into skin like it isn't there. It evens out my skin just perfectly. I pried the brush applicator loose and use it with my 187, stippling it on. I wish Revlon would get rid of the gimmicky brush thing - its unhygienic and streaks terribly.

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick in Underworld
rated 4 of 5
Lonz 8/16/2010 5:31:00 PM

I painted my nails a vixen deep red last night Waking this morning, and glancing at my gorgeous mani, I suddenly dawned on the realisation that I would absolutely and positively EXPIRE if I couldn't find my Underworld tube to match lips to tips. I eventually managed to unearth it from my not-so-frequently used Winter Gothics drawer, and you know what? It looks STUNNING on even pale girls when applied with a lipbrush and paired with minimalist makeup. Applied from the tube, it can be a bit too vampy. It is not as cool toned as 'Media', and not quite as brown as 'Film Noir'. Definitely a winter winner. :)

Liquid -MAC - Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
Lonz 8/11/2010 9:58:00 PM

Eww. Just way too sparkly, dries out and clings to flaky bits. Needs coaxing to blend properly and feels so heavy. I've tried wearing this on both good and bad skin days, and I keep thinking maybe this time it'll work for me. No luck so far. Fantastic packaging, great pump which dispenses the perfect amount of foundation, so no waste. Beautiful colour selection, which matched my skin perfectly, so again my loss there. Perhaps on 18 year old, relatively flawless baby skin this will work, but unfortunately not on my dehydrated complexion. =(

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte lipstick in Mauve It Over
rated 4 of 5
Lonz 8/9/2010 8:40:00 PM

Love this colour. Incidentally, in case anybody was wondering, it is a very good dupe for MAC 'Kinda Sexy'. Same matte finish, except this one is a little creamier and feels more comfortable. The unfortunate trade-off for that comfort is that it doesn't wear as well as the MAC mattes. Still, if you don't want to splurge on MAC's gorgeous nude, this one is a really good alternative. :)

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Dream Blonde
rated 4 of 5
Lonz 8/7/2010 4:56:00 AM

I used thisproduct to pre-lighten my hair from dark brown so I could go red. It lightened the darker coloured ends satifactorily, and on my roots I could see that if I actually had used it to go blonde, it would have been a gorgeous baby blonde. Would definitely buy this again if I need my hair lightened.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Foundation / Loose - Light
rated 5 of 5
Lonz 8/4/2010 11:34:00 PM

I use this in Light/Medium for summer, and in Light for Winter. Its fabulous for dry skin, offering light even coverage without caking, or looking like I dipped my face in fairy dust. It has a beautiful luminous glow that makes your skin looks so healthy and feel amazing to the touch. It wears well and doesn't rub off like some liquids do. its my HG and I will definiately keep repurchasing.

Lips -Burt's Bees - Lip Shimmer - Merlot
rated 4 of 5
Lonz 8/2/2010 8:40:00 PM

This is in my touch-up kit for winter. I've found that it is a much cheaper dupe for Lipstick Queen's Medieval, with the benefit of a minty balm. The color is not a spot-on match, but it is still close enough for me. Perfect for daytime winter wear, when my Medieval just won't give me enough moisture. I have tried it as a cheek tint, and I like the colour for that purpose too as it makes my cheeks look flushed and healthy, rather than the obvious 'she applied blusher in a weird colour' look. If you have sensitive skin, the peppermint may irritate or burn your skin. Have repurchased twice, will continue to do so.
