I have had this in my collection of serums/glossers for a long time, and I finally started using it when I ran out of my Organix Moroccan Argan Oil. I have fine frizzy hair that I air dry and wear wavy. I really love this product when applied to damp hair and scrunched in, but it's a touch too greasy when I apply it to dry hair. I love the smell, but I took off a lipstick for the packaging. The serum is too thick to pump through the nozzle after the bottle is about half full, and the straw seems too short to effectively suck up product in the last half of the bottle. It does smell great and works well though, so I will probably repurchase.
I bought several of these duos on last chance sale at CVS for .75 cents each. The one I tried today, Tribecca Toast, is the one I am reviewing. In the (SUPER skinny) pan, the contour color looks like a deep shimmery reddish purple. On the lids (no primer, just Stila one-step makeup) it appeared brownish black with barely any shimmer. The highlight shade was a little bit chalky and not very pigmented. With multiple applications, the color looked nice and slightly shimmery. By midday, the colors had soaked up oil and mellowed out quite a bit. By the end of the day, they were almost gone. Chalky, poorly pigmented, not long-lasting. I think even at 75 cents I overpaid.
Shampoo -John Frieda - Root Awakening Nourishing Moisture Shampoo
Bottles 5/10/2010 2:13:00 AM
After trying several John Frieda products and being pretty impressed, I bought this because it was on sale at CVS. I really, really like it (which surprises me!). I have tried many, many different shampoos. I like how it smooths my frizzy hair and (in conjunction with Frizz-Ease serum) helps shape my waves into smooth and shiny curls. It smells great. I didn't think I would like the smell, as I don't tend to like minty/eucalyptus smells, but it's subtle and pleasant. I like the creamy formula and lather and how soft it makes my hair feel. I am going to try more of the Root Awakening line.
I bought 2 of these on sale at Target, they were on sale for a dollar and change each so I picked up Sunset Pink and Coral Sunshine (?). I absolutely love them, wish I would have bought more! I love the texture, smooth and not sticky, minty smell and PERFECT hint of color (not too shiny or garish or shimmery). I have highly pigmented lips and most tinted balms don't even show - these do, just enough! I love them!!! The tube is a little slender for my taste but overall a must-have for me.
Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Sheer Infusion Body Lotion
Bottles 2/28/2010 5:35:00 PM
I have VERY itchy legs. Even when I don't shave that day, even when the weather is warm. Nivea Creme is the only thing I have found so far (and I have tried EVERY lotion!) that helps with the itch, but it is too heavy for warmer weather or morning, so I decided to try this in the Vitamin formula, and found a winner! It stops the itch, makes my skin feel smooth, and I like the grease level of it. Very silky, like serum on drydown. I like the fresh floral scent. The price was a tiny bit high for the size, maybe $2 too high, but I will get it on sale.
I bought this dirt cheap on a last chance sale at Walgreen's, and I still feel I overpaid. There is barely ANY exfoliant in it. Maybe 5-10 beads per squirt. Not even worth the time it takes to squeeze it. Plus I hate the slimy feel and the plasticky olive smell. Gross.
Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Softening Skin Therapy Lotion Shea Butter
Bottles 3/20/2009 7:02:00 PM
Like the other reviewers, I have used low-end to high-end lotions across the board and never found anything as jaw-droppingly AWESOME as this! It took away rough heels in just 3 nights without having to use a foot file like I normally do. Great texture, great feel on your skin afterwards, and it actually WORKS! Smells a little like Cucumber Melon to me, it's not pesky though. Seriously, I know Gold Bond isn't exactly glamorous but trust this lotion snob - you've gotta try this stuff!
Lipstick -MAC - Blow Dry (Blonde Brunette Redhead)
Bottles 2/22/2009 2:46:00 PM
I got this on a Back to MAC trade in, because when I swiped it on my hand it was a gorgeous pinky coral shimmer. But when I got it home and tried it on my pigmented lips, it barely showed up. It is more a gloss than anything else on me. It's alright, but I don't see a need to repurchase.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Henna (Blonde Brunette Redhead Collection)
Bottles 2/22/2009 2:45:00 PM
I bought this on a whim at the MAC counter, and I love it! I love shimmery champagne neutrals, but my skin is so light they always look washed out and cheap on me. This is a "neutral" with depth. It has a slight greenish cast on me, but a lot of gold. I love the depth of the shimmer and the smooth texture. Definitely a keeper!
I received a free bottle of this from Jergens, and I wasn't very impressed. I have never been a huge Jergens fan, but after falling in love with the shea butter moisturizer I thought maybe they were making better products now. This lotion did not help my opinion of them. First off, it's extremely difficult for me to rub in. I do like the smell, but it's not enough to distract me from the application. Second, it is SO sticky on me. I put it on before bed and I was still sticky in the morning! Plus it did not make me feel smooth or help my itchy dry winter legs. I am glad I did not shell out $7+ on this poorly formulated watery junk!
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
Bottles 6/29/2008 1:37:00 PM
This product sounded really enticing, enticing enough to shell out THREE DOLLARS for a lip balm. At first I really liked the smell, but after wearing it for about a week it became cloying and even the taste started bothering me. I like the texture, and the ever so slight tint, but I am not as likely to use it over my other balms because of that over flowery smell.
Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Shea Butter Skin Enriching Moisturiser
Bottles 6/29/2008 1:35:00 PM
I am in LOVE with this lotion. I am a huge product texture person and I love the smooth, almost somehow bouncy texture of this cream. It rubs in easily, smells AMAZING, like cocoa butter and bubble gum. It gives your skin an amazing sheen, making it look really healthy. And the moisture actually lasts without being sticky or greasy and slick for hours. I love it, I will buy it again and again! And that's rare for me.
I don't like this cream as much as I thought I would, but it's growing on me. I've been using it about three weeks. I don't like the smell, like cheap sunscreen. The texture is a little thin for me, I like something creamier. And the push pump dispenser seems like a good idea in theory, and while sanitary, I think I'd rather just be able to scoop my cream out with my fingers. But the cream seems to be improving my skin, it is more clear and glowy than before. I may or may not actually buy it again, I very rarely use the same thing twice.
Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Blending Eye Pencil in 791 Black Chrome
Bottles 6/29/2008 1:24:00 PM
I am forever on the hunt for the perfect black eyeliner. I've tried SO many, in all price ranges, and have rarely had success with color payoff and staying power. I bought this at Walgreen's on a whim as well, like the reviewer below. I thought I might as well try it. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! It goes on easily, no tugging, and DARK from the first swipe. I like the smudgy creamy texture, but then it "sets" a bit and becomes very resistant to smudging and running down my face, creeping onto my upper lids. I mean, there was a little shifting, but it lasted better than a regular MAC Kohl on me. For the price, will definitely buy again!
I used to regret every Avon order I received, but I made an order recently and fell in love with this lipstick! I ordered Coral Goddess and it's a great, glazed shimmery coral with a slight glow. Very translucent, not bright orange. A very sexy color. Then I ordered Ruby Slippers, and was so pleased with the sheer wash of reddish pink, it's a YLBB for darker lips! I have dark lips and all the YLBB I've tried have been lighter than my lips, which is not better. I ordered Pink Tiara and can't wait to try it! I also love the comfortable gel-like texture and that the glitter's not too gritty or noticeable on the lip. They wear reasonably well, but they are still a gloss stick. As much as I love these, I still wait for a sale to buy them!
