Liquid -Korres - Ginger and Vitamins Foundation, SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]

I bought this foundation because of so many people swearing by it. All this foundation did for me was make me look like I had cake batter on my face, not to mention I couldn't get a good color match. It felt gross and looked gross. No matter what I did I could not get this foundation to work at all.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Zit Zapper

I am truthfully surprised at the good reviews this is getting. I mean, I bought this not expecting it to work anyway(what do you expect for a dollar?) but it was really pointless. The 3 pimples I did use it on ended up even bigger than they were already. I felt like I was putting water on them. This did absolutely nothing at all. I would've gotten more results from taking the $1 and throwing in the garbage as opposed to spending it on this.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection

For me, this product is just ok. There's nothing special about it, but there is a few cons to it. I originally tried to use it set my foundation and help with any redness peeking through.. I ended up looking like a chalky ghost. The next day I used it under my foundation. When I applied it I swirled my brush around in all four colors and just applied it evenly. I did see some difference in the redness, but once again I looked ghostly. I figured since I hadn't put my foundation on yet that the ghostly look wouldn't stay. It did work better for me under my foundation but it only helped with redness. I didn't see anything being done about oil control & it also can really cake up. Even putting a small amount you can end up looking chalky and just plain white. After each time I've used this I've gotten a pimple or a few & it's always after using this so I know that's what's causing it. I honestly only like the fact that it does help with my very dark red acne scaring, but that's about it.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
rated 3 of 5

I needed a good translucent setting powder and I was leaning toward the MUFE one. I had purchased MUFE Mat Velvet & the sales girl told me that would be best to set it with that powder. Honestly, I couldn't justify spending the $30+ on it especially after hearing a ton of people say this one is the same exact thing if not better. I think this product serves its purpose. It has gotten cakey on me once or twice but it does a good job at setting. The one thing that I don't like about it is that it does lighten my foundation. I have a foundation that is just a smidge too dark for me & when I set it with this it ends up being my color. The foundations that are perfectly matched to me end up looking a bit ghostly on me after setting them with this so I will probably only use it set that one foundation that is too dark. I also noticed that for my particular skin there is absolutely no oil control. Honestly, for $6 you really can't go wrong if it works for you. It's a nice sized amount of product for the price and I'm pretty sure it will last months even if its used daily. I did read enough reviews before purchasing to know to puncture holes instead of taking the seal off so I won't say its messy. I'm not sure as of yet if I would repurchase it because of the fact that it does make me look whiter.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation

I am absolutely loving MUFE Foundations. First I tried the Mat Velvet which absolutely blew me away & then I tried this & I don't think I will EVER purchase any other foundations again. First of all let me just say that the acne scarring on my face is severe. The scars are deep deep red and my cheeks are literally covered in them. Now, don't get me wrong I did have to build up coverage with this a little, but I have to do that which majority of foundations anyway. When I put a layer of this one I was like.. hmm.. I don't think this will work for me I need a lot more coverage, but I added some more in the area's I needed more coverage and my jaw dropped. This doesn't even feel like you're putting makeup on your face. It's extremely light weight and the way it covered I expected my face to feel heavy(especially for the amount I used). Now seeing as how I need more coverage I did have to use about 5 to 6 pumps which is a lot & the foundation is kind of pricey so I don't know how long it would last me but I completely feel it's worth it. The best thing about this foundation is that it works either way. If you're someone who just wants to even out your skin tone and needs light coverage, this would be absolutely perfect for you & at the same time if you're someone like me who needs heavy coverage it's still perfect because its easily build able and NEVER feels heavy. It honestly just blends right in and looks like your own skin no matter how much you apply. I do dislike the bit of a scent that this has but I can deal with it. You only smell it as you're applying and it's not a heavy scent that lasts all day, so it's fine. I completely recommend this to anyone who wears makeup. It's my new love. (P.S. don't forget to shake it because I didn't at first and it was a bit watery)

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing
rated 3 of 5
Beautyy 4/9/2012 9:02:00 AM

I wanted to try this product for a really long time I just never ended up purchasing it. I was able to receive one in a swap and I was pretty excited to try it, however, I'm not sure if I am all that impressed with it. When I applied it with my finger I didn't like it at all. It made some spots I covered look dry and for my under eyes I had to keep applying more before it covered completely. The next day I applied it with a concealer brush and the difference amazed me. It covered each spot beautifully and also covered very well under my eyes. My acne scarring was not visible at all nor were my dark circles... until the middle of the day came around. I looked in the mirror and every spot I had put this on was no longer covered. It was like it literally disappeared off of my face. I honestly looked like I had never put it on to begin with. The lasting time on this stuff is about 5 hours max and concealer is not something I reapply all day. I'm honestly glad I didn't spend the money on it. I will probably only use this if I'm only going out for a short amount of time because it definitely does not hold up for my long work days.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno
rated 1 of 5
Beautyy 4/6/2012 9:26:00 AM

I purchased this around the time it first came out which just happened to be the time that I was trying everything in my power to get rid of my acne that wouldn't go away. I was iffy about spending the $150 for it because I didn't know if it would work but I was desperate so I did. I was immediately angry that I had spent the money. It did absolutely nothing for any pimples I had not to mention that you have to sit there & hold it on to each pimple for like 3 minutes. Who the hell has time to sit there & do that? Even as badly as I wanted to get rid of my pimples, I could not sit there & do that for each one. I think this product was a complete scam for people who were desperate and just wanted to believe this was the "next best thing" that would work. At least when I spent the $150 on my Clarisonic it actually worked & was worth the money! This on the other hand, was not.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Milk of Magnesia
rated 5 of 5
Beautyy 4/4/2012 9:13:00 AM

I finally caved in and tried Milk of Magnesia as a primer. I work 10 hour days and commute for 2 hours so my days are LONG. I tried everything to make my makeup last as long as possible but lets be honest, that many hours is not exactly a normal day and makeup doesn't last that long on its own. I get ridiculously oily all over after a few hours and I'm constantly blotting or reapplying powder and by the end of the day my makeup really just looks gross. I just dab this in spots with my finger and massage it into my face until its completely dry after moisturizing. Since I started using this I have been monitoring my face & have been using a different foundation each day to see how well it really works. Let me just say... I am impressed. Without the MOM I am an oil spill after about 4 hours, sometimes even 3. My face gets oily all over but my T-zone is by far the worst. With the MOM my nose does still get oily but a lot later in the day than usual, at around the 6th to 7th hour & I only have to blot it once at that time which is a huge difference from blotting all day long. My cheeks, forehead & chin honestly do not start to get oily until about the 9th to10th hour and I can blot them once at that time & I'm set. When I get home after my long 12 hour day my makeup does not at all look like I've had it on for that long. If I didn't put it on myself I would never know. I am really liking this so far and it is literally the only thing that has worked for my uncontrollable oilyness throughout the day. I plan on also trying this with the Monistat anti-chafing gel that I keep hearing about because if the MOM works this great alone, I can only imagine how it would work in conjunction with that. If you have long days as I do & you can't seem to find something to work for you, I say give it a shot. You have nothing to lose. It's only about $5 & I use the Phillips brand, the store brand ones are cheaper and I have heard they work just as good. If worse comes to worse and it doesn't work than you can always just keep it in your medicine cabinet for its real purpose LOL!

Masks -LUSH - Cosmetic Warrior Mask
rated 5 of 5
Beautyy 4/3/2012 8:46:00 AM

I love masks, but this is the first Lush mask I have tried. My first reaction to it was... UGH, this mask STINKS & I am going to throw up. I was literally breathing through my mouth instead of my nose and I still couldn't take the smell but I tried everything to ignore the smell because I heard great things about it. It does get easier I guess once you're used to it or learn to ignore it but I am way too sensitive to smells. Once I washed the mask off & saw the result I knew I had no choice but to learn to deal with the smell because my skin looked great. I have the worst acne scarring. Deep red scars covering my cheeks & I literally saw a difference right away. My face just felt calm and relaxed & the scars didn't seem so red anymore. My skin looked plump and healthy. I didn't see it do anything for my active acne as of yet but I plan on using it every other day & see how that turns out. The tub of this is pretty small and I was told I'll get anywhere from 4 to 6 masks out of it & for $8 I think that's kind of pricey. Especially seeing as how I am used to Queen Helene's mask or my Boots Botanics mask which are much cheaper and last me months. I do think it's better to try a more natural approach for skin though seeing as how I am tired of using chemicals on my face. So far I am pleased with it and I can't wait to see what continued use will do for my skin.

Skincare - Face -Clarisonic - Acne Brush Head
rated 1 of 5
Beautyy 3/30/2012 1:07:00 PM

Seeing as how I have acne, I decided to try this brush head with my Mia. Now, when I first started using my Mia, I did get the initial breakout which cleared up quick & my sensitive or delicate brush heads have been fine with my skin ever since. Once I changed to this brush head, the breaking out started. At first I thought, maybe its cleaning better than the other brush heads I've used & I figured it would clear up in a few days. NOPE! The acne just kept coming. Big painful pimples. I honestly didn't think it was because of the brush head, but I had to see. I stopped using this brush head for a few days to see if it was the reason & I stopped breaking out. I then decided about a week later to give it another chance & there it went again. The big painful pimples came back. I don't know why this brush head would break me out especially since it suppose to be for acne but I do know that it did not work for me. It caused more acne than it helped. I will continue to use my delicate & sensitive brush heads.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Beautyy 3/30/2012 11:13:00 AM

I am crossing my fingers that this foundation does not break me out. I am in complete awe with this! First of all, the color I was matched to (#30) is a dead match to my skin. For the first time ever I don't even look like I have makeup on because it's literally the same exact color as me. I have VERY deep red acne scaring that covers both of my cheeks, so I usually really have to build up coverage with foundations. I put a small amount on my cheek and started to blend and I was shocked that that small amount covered my scaring completely. Absolutely no red shining through the foundation at all. I didn't have to sit there and build up coverage like I normally do. The second thing I noticed was that it dried so beautifully on its own & it had looked like I had already set it with powder when I didn't. The finish was absolutely beautiful. The third thing I noticed was that it doesn't feel at all like you have makeup on.Its very light feeling. It didn't look like it either but I'm sure part of that is because of the perfect color match. I'm VERY oily skinned and makeup usually melts off my face. So far I've had this on for 5 hours & no oil yet. This foundation is honestly heaven sent for me. It's no doubt a HG. I am seriously keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't break me out because I will never stop using this foundation.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Goat Milk Stuff- Tea Tree Oil Soap
rated 5 of 5
Beautyy 3/29/2012 9:27:00 AM

I love this Tea Tree Soap! I heard Tea Tree Oil was good for acne but it was literally the only thing I have never tried. My skin is extremely sensitive so I was always afraid to try it. This soap does not dry me out at all, my skin feels so smooth after using it & it's really helping out with my acne A LOT. The texture of my skin is also changing with continued use. I'm so glad I started using this & their Purity soap on my face because I no longer need to use Benzoyl Peroxide which was completely destroying my skin. If you have acne and are tired of harsh chemicals on your face, GIVE THIS A TRY! Not to mention that the bars are pretty big & will last you a long time. It's much cheaper than buying expensive acne soaps & treatments & it's much better for your skin.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Goat Milk Stuff- Purity Soap
rated 5 of 5
Beautyy 3/29/2012 9:18:00 AM

I heard about Goat Milk Soap being good for acne, so I decided to give it a try. I had tried from other companies but Goatmilkstuff.com was my favorite. This "Purity" soap is unscented and very gentle which makes it AWESOME for acne skin. Usually soap that lathers up will dry out my skin but my face never feels tight or dry after this. I used to use this Purity bar as my morning cleanser but now I use it as a pre-cleanse before my Bliss Clog Dissolving Cleansing Milk. I don't use it in the morning anymore because I use their Tea Tree Oil bar in the morning which is also great for acne. Using these 2 soaps combined has has really helped my skin & I no longer need to use harsh chemicals on my face like the Benzoyl peroxide I was using for so long. I also love how you can purchase these soaps in either a half bar or a full bar. If you are trying them for the first time you can buy a half bar & it will last you a LONG time! I cut off pieces and use them so I don't have to wet the full bar every time I cleanse. The family that owns this company is so sweet, they ship fast and they answer all questions you will have.

Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear - Light to Natural
rated 1 of 5
Beautyy 3/28/2012 5:45:00 PM

I thought this was the most disgusting tinted moisturizer I have ever tried. It burnt my face when I applied it. It was a dark color to be labeled light. It didn't moisturize anything on my face nor did it cover anything. I literally threw it in the garbage after trying it one time.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 1 of 5
Beautyy 3/28/2012 2:47:00 PM

i don't know why I continue to try Maybelline foundations. It NEVER fails. I always end up Orange!!! this foundation felt ridiculously heavy to me & for no reason because my acne scars were shining right through it. I was oily within the first hour of application & of course the biggest downside was that I was Orange. I hated this & the way I looked in it.
