Foundations -Sally Hansen - Fast and Flawless Airbrush foundation [DISCONTINUED]

I love this stuff. It is so easy to apply and all you need is a few light spritzes to cover your whole face. The formula is very light and covers evenly. I use the transparent color on my tanned Asian skin and it covers imperfections and smooths out my uneven skin tones. Also, this foundation does not feel heavy. It does not look like I am wearing foundation at all and has a natural look to it. Also, it stays on all day without rubbing off. I stockpiled bottles of this stuff, and the best thing is that one bottle goes a long way. It lasts forever.

Crème -Cover Girl - Cover Girl TruBlend Whipped Foundation
rated 3 of 5

The CG TrueBlend Whipped Foundation is inexpensive and comes in a great range of colors. The consistency is quite thin though so it does not have great coverage. It is okay for evening out skin tones but it does not cover imperfections well. I much rather prefer the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation to this one.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers

I'm surprised that Cover Girl has not improved their eye shadow formula in the last ten years. The colors look great in the packaging and they are very cheap. However, when you apply it the color is not as rich. The applicator that it comes with is very scratchy and irritates the skin. It is like using fine grit sand paper to apply eye shadow. Also, the powder disintegrates easily and goes on splotchy. The consistency is very bad. I'll be sticking to my L'oreal Eyeshadow.

Liquid -Annabelle - SkinTrue Natural Lightweight Makeup

The consistency of this foundation is great. It is neither too runny nor too thick. Also, it dries to a smooth finish and the color selection is great. Their shades are neither too pink or orangey like other brands. This foundation works well to even out skin tones. However, I wish it had greater coverage. It does not cover imperfections well. I prefer the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation to this one.

Brows -Marcelle - Accent Eyebrow Crayon
rated 5 of 5

I swear by this eyebrow pencil. I've used the Wet n Wild, Annabelle and Bonne Belle liners which I liked for awhile and were decent for the price. However, among the inexpensive drug store brands the Marcelle pencil does not go on too dark. It looks really natural and I get lots of compliments from people. They often ask me whether my brows are naturally like that or whether they are penciled in. I love the brush that it comes with. It is so convenient to groom the brows. Also, this pencil is quite long compared to other pencils so it lasts awhile. I am on my 5th purchase of this liner!

Liquid -L'Oreal - Cashmere Perfect Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
prncss 12/24/2008 2:37:00 PM

The L'oreal Cashmere Perfect Foundation works excellent as a concealer! It is thick, covers well [ie. acne scars, skin discoloration] and dries to a smooth soft finish. I like that I don't have to apply powder afterwards. I have dry skin and powder usually makes my skin appear more dry. However, the powder finish of this foundation makes my skin sppear smooth and airbrushed. You don't get a whole lot of product for the money, compared to the other L'oreal foundations but used as a concealer, there is great value! Edit: I am taking off a lippie due to poor color selection. There are only 5 shades available. I use the buff beige and I find that it is a little slightly orange in natural daylight. I now use the MAC studio sculpt concealer which is a perfect color match for me.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black
rated 5 of 5
prncss 12/24/2008 2:32:00 PM

This is my HG mascara for daytime wear. To begin with, I have sparse asian lashes. After using this for 2 years I decided to branch out and try other brands. In the last 3 months, I have tried the following mascaras: Benefit Bad Gal Lash, MUFE Smokey Lash, MAC Zoom lash, and Maybelline Full n' Soft. I ended up returning all of them because they did not give lengthen or volume like the L'oreal. The only comparable mascara that I loved was the L'oreal HIP Volumizing mascara. However, the formula of the HIP mascara dries out only after 1-2 weeks. The Carbon Black version is noticeably darker and richer in color than the original voluminous black version. What I love about it is that I don't need a lot of coats to get volume and length. It is a great quickie mascara and I love that fanned feathery look that I get from this. You don't need a lot of applications like other mascaras. When I want ultra fat lashes, I use Cover Lash Blast on top of the Voluminous by wiggling the brush from side to side from the base of my lashes to the ends. This way I get the ultra false lash effect. My lashes appear fat and thick, which is what I want. My other favorite mascara is the Maybelline Intense XXL, which also delivers the false lash effect. After spending all of that money to try other brands, I've decided to stick with the Carbon Black Voluminous. I just stocked up on a few tubes of this when I saw it on sale for $6. Definitely can't beat that price, since it outperforms expensive sephora brands.

Mascara -Maybelline - INTENSE XXL mascara
rated 5 of 5
prncss 12/24/2008 1:16:00 PM

Pros: -inexpensive price -it gives you thick, fat and long lashes -it stays on all day and does not smudge Cons: -the brushes are short; it takes awhile to get used to -the tube dries out really quickly compared to most mascaras -length of time to apply to the results you want I swear by this stuff. I have short wispy Asian lashes and have been on the search for a good thickening and lengthening mascara. I heard good things about the Diorshow Mascara and purchased that. However, after I compared the Diorshow to the Maybelline (using one one each eye) the Maybelline was visibly thicker and longer. Normally I like to wear false eyelashes but this is a good alternative for the days when I don't feel like putting them on. The only downfall is that the design makes application a bit clumsy. The tube is quite fat and the brushes are really short, so it takes some time getting used to. Also, the formula dries out quite quickly compared to most mascaras. At this price though, I don't mind as this product often goes on sale at my local drugstore.
