I recommend the FULL DEFINITION Voluminous Mascara...not the regular one. There is something superior in the full definition formula. Paula Begoun describes it as drug-store alternative to Lancome Definicils and I would have to agree. Only it's better...not as wet in application and easier to apply. The brush is better than Definicils. I highly recommend this one. The regular Voluminous is nothing to write home about IMO.
I've been trying to embrace the gel eyeliner phenomenon..especially now that summer is here and my eyelids are oily. But it is a bit of a pain - the brush gets gummed up with product and the colors all tend to look very bold. Not subtle. Clinique Quick liners are my favorite. They apply smoothly, can be blended for a softer look, and last all day on me. I love Navy for a pop of color around my blue eyes. I also highly recommend Roast Coffee. A wonderful medium brown. They are so easy to use. Goof-proof.
I don't have undereye circles to cover. I was just looking for something else to diminish the redness around my noses and above my lip. This stuff is very similar to her concealer. I bought the porcelain peach..I don't really see the peach. It does a great job of covering up anything. My skin appeared even..I skipped foundation. Would be great for covering a blemish, too.
This looks like a dark brown in the jar but on me it looks like a soft black. I like that it isn't shimmery like so many gel eyeliners I seem to come across. It is a pretty intense color but not as intense as black. I like the tenacity of this liner..especially with the humid weather here in Jersey...lasts all day.
Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Antigua

I would hardly describe this product as a bronzer...shimmer blush, yes, all-over face color - maybe. But not a bronzer - not if the color you are looking for is anything resembling a tan. This is a shimmering peachy-pink color reminiscent of Nars Orgasm. It applies fairly sheer - the shimmer factor is not as great as it might appear in the pan. I paired this with Bobbi's Pink Beige lip gloss - a pretty combo. If you are looking for a bronzing powder and your are fair like me, take a look at Bobbi's Natural bronzing powder. Now that's a bronzer. You might also like Nars' Maui multiple for a believable reddish brown hue.

This bronzer is a reddish brown shade, without shimmer. It is richly pigmented as well. It is one of the few bronzers that I can use as a fair-skinned Irish girl, that doesn't make me look dirty. It is the red component of the color that gives it believability because that is typically the color I turn in the sun - red. This is a much better option than the light for someone of my coloring - fair skin, reddish brown hair. I use it on my cheeks, forehead and eyelids. Great stuff.
Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-on Cream Liner Smoke Grey

First of all, the name "Smoke Grey" is inaccurate. This color is more of a taupe brown than anything else. I swear it is almost identical to Paula Begoun's Earthern gel eyeliner, which is described as a medium brown. In order to get any color intensity and definition, I had to retrace my line several times. I am glad that Clinique offers softer shades of cream eyeliner. Bobbi's are so densely pigmented, most appear very dark on me. This shade isn't bad...it's just not grey and it's quite muted. Fine for a low-key daytime look if barely there is what you are after.
Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-on Cream Liner in Deep Brown

This is a great medium brown. On me it dried to a black/brown shade. Still soft enough for an everyday, wear to work shade. My major complaint with Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliners is that they are all so pigmented that on me, a fair gal, they all appear just about black. I am appreciating the softer colors offered by Clinique.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

I bought the charcoal shade. It is a shimmery steel-grey shade. I like the color very much. It is not too much. Other gel eyeliners can look heavy and hard. I love BB's but there are few soft shades to choose from. I didn't use the brush included with the gel because I knew better. I bought an ecotools eyeliner brush that did a great job. It's comparable to my MAC266 eyeliner brush at a fraction of the cost.
I use Warm Ivory stick foundation but I picked up porcelain wanting a shade one shade lighter than my foundation. This stuff is pretty thick and provides medium to heavy coverage. It is neutral..not too pink or yellow. My only concern is applying to my undereye area. Because it is thick, it requires some blending and I hate to manipulate the thin skin around the eye area. Probably not a good thing. Cle de Peu is still my HG concealer but this one will do at less than half the price.
If you are looking for a good cream blush at the drugstore that doesn't have shimmer or sparkle in it, this is it. Rosey Glow gives you just that...a rosey pink glow. The product isn't exactly creamy or greasy. The texture is a bit on the dry side but still easy enough to blend. I bought this recently after admiring Valerie Bertinelli's makeup on the cover of Good Housekeeping. She definitely had a rosey glow. This is a very wearable shade..would probably work for most skin tones.
As others have noted, this blush is a chameleon. While it looks nothing like its name in the pan, it provides a beautiful pop of pink on the cheek. It is so much softer than it appears so don't be afraid of it. I am very fair and can pull this one off. I would imagine this one can work on almost all skin tones. You can bump up the color simply by applying more.
This is a neutral, pale pink matte blush. No shimmer. It was recommended by a BB makeup artist on the internet...I just described my coloring (fair, blue eyes, reddish brown hair). I was using Desert Rose and loved that one too. I would describe Desert Pink as Desert Rose's shy younger sister. It is great for daytime wear. You might want to punch up the color for nighttime by adding a "pop" of color. BB pale pink is a good choose.
Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser
bassetmomma 5/13/2010 6:55:00 AM
I'll call this one..so close yet so far. My initial impression of this cleanser was great. With just a little product, I got a great, shaving cream like foam. It lathered up easily with water and seemed to do a good job of removing my makeup, eyemakeup included. But as I rinsed my face, it felt strange. It squeaked. In this case, squeaky clean is a bad thing. Skin felt tight and dry. I dont' even have particulary dry skin. If they can reformulate this product and remove the incredibly drying-element, I might consider trying it again.
This is the best concealer I have ever used. The consistenty is creamy but not greasy..allows for easy application. The color is perfect for my fair skin. Not too yellow or pink..neutral. Doesn't pull at my undereye skin. Blends flawlessly. The 70$ price tag is ridiculous. I wish I could find a cheaper alternative that even comes close.
