Mascara -Clinique - Lash Doubling Mascara

I received this product in a gift set that came with the foundation & bronzer I purchased, and I must say that I like it. The brush is nice, the formula is lightweight and not too stiff, and it gives you a soft sexy look. Very nice!

Bronzers -Clinique - True Bronze pressed powder bronzer - Sunkissed
rated 5 of 5

After listening to my managers go on and on about Clinique, I agreed to meet one of them at Macy's to give it a shot. I was predominately looking for bronzer. I must say, this is the best I've ever used. I'm pale as hell, but this product gave my skin a heavenly glow that wasn't super shimmery, but rather more matte, which is rare in a bronzer. I actually look tan when I wear it. The only downside: it tends to fade throughout the day :(.

Very lightweight and matte, which is a good thing. But it's a little too orange for my skin. Overall, not all that impressive, particularly for the price.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Pencil - Black
rated 3 of 5

I will say that I'm a firm believer that drugstore black eyeliner is just as good if not better than designer eyeliner, and for the price, you can't complain. I typically use NYC black eyeliner, but seeing as for some reason that's difficult to find, I settled on this one when I was desperate. It's decent, although if you have even slightly oily skin it wil tend to... not smear, but sort of disappear, leaving only traces of it on your eye. You may have to apply it a few times over the course of the day/evening, but it goes on rather thick and is easy to work with.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Soft Touch Eyeshadow - Gold
rated 3 of 5
Kristenhonto 3/30/2009 11:45:00 AM

I bought this product because I had my makeup done for an event and the artist more or less forced me to purchase something. Being that this was the shade he used on me, and it looked fairly decent, I figured what the heck, it was only $25. This is a difficult shade to use alone on your eyelid, unless you're gorgeously tan. Very glittery as well.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Minty Lip Shine

I received this product as a gift from my boyfriend's sister, and I have to say that I'm in love. It's refreshing, comfortable, and not sticky at all! It's also great to put over sheer eyeshadows to create your own lipgloss. An incredible product :).

One word: BLAH! This product is the equivalent to drugstore makeup. Boring, nothing special, and not worth the price.

Bronzers -LORAC - TANtalizer Baked Bronzer
rated 3 of 5

I have read very good things about this product, and have tested it numerous times on my wrists, but had never actually tried it on my face. It has a gorgeous, rich texture, and is very easy to apply. But you more or less have to be tan to pull it off. It's very shimmery. A beautiful product, but too dark for my pale skin :(.

Bronzers -Chanel - Bronze Universel De Chanel Sun Illuminator
rated 5 of 5
Kristenhonto 3/30/2009 11:32:00 AM

Let's begin by saying that it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to makeup. It's not that I'm "picky", it's just that I'm so friggin' pale that it literally takes a miracle to make me look great. Anyway, this product was number two on my list of bronzers to try to find the perfect one, (MAC was number one, how about, no.) Once I saw that it wasn't a powder I became skeptical, but allowed the eager Chanel consultant to put it on my face anyway. I couldn't believe it was me. In that god-awful flourescent Macy's lighting, I looked like an airbrushed superstar. No powder, no foundation, no eyeshadow, no mascara, just this product. I knew this was the one, I was so in love with how my face looked that I didn't care that it costs fifty freekin' dollars. My face was glowing, tan, smooth, almost pore-less, AMAZING. HOWEVER! Once I bought it and took it home, I quickly came to realize that my makeup application skills were not up to parr. I bought a foundation brush like the lady told me to, applied it the way she did, but it looked HORRIBLE! So of course, at this point, I'm thinking that it can't be the product, after all, it's the same one she used on my face, it has to be me. The next day I went back to Chanel & asked her to show me exactly how to apply it, which she did. I went home, same thing. It either is so light that it's barely noticable or so dark that it looks orange. I am madly in love with this product, but I am going to return it. I just don't have the skills to apply it. Maybe one day in the future, when I've mastered the art of blending, I'll purchase it again. :(.

Eyes -Sugar Cosmetics - Sugar Eyes Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
Kristenhonto 3/25/2009 12:56:00 PM

As usual, I was wandering aimlessly around Ulta searching for anything and everything I haven't seen before. After roaming the perfumes I ventured into the cosmetics and stumbled upon a clearance shelf. My eyes lit up and I began looking at every product in hopes of finding one I could use. This is when I found an eye palette & lipgloss kit by sugar. The collection name is "Kimono" and after testing it on my wrist, I realized that it was decent quality and the warm tones would compliment my eyes. And of course, at $4.99 (regularly $25.00), I couldn't pass it up. I use it almost daily, it gives that "dewy" look that I'm crazy about. Great product.

Fragrances -Michael Kors - Very Pretty
rated 3 of 5

Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Kors. But typically his fragrances are rather elderly. When I first smelled Very Pretty, I hated it, because it slightly reminded me of Michael. Then, it grew on me. It's much more youthful than his signature perfume, and the bottle is gorgeous.

Tuberose? No. Floral? Kind of. This perfume smells like a flower shitting cinnamon into a bowl of banana pudding. *UPDATE*: Because I work around this fragrance all the time, I suppose I've finally adapted to it, because the other day, I actually sprayed it on my skin! AND, furthermore.... I LIKE IT! I believe that this scent just takes some getting used to, although, I'll warn you, it repels men.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - CK one summer- lim.ed.
rated 5 of 5
Kristenhonto 3/16/2009 12:50:00 PM

Generally, I'm not a picky person. I can go into a clothing store and find tons of different styles that I like. But when it comes to perfume, I just don't feel right wearing it unless I'm 100% sure that it's "me". The fragrance must describe me with a scent rather than with words. CK One Summer is the first perfume in years that I can say brings out endorphins in me when I enhale it. Lately, I've found myself venturing into the Calvin Klein store after work just to spray some on. I'm tight on money so I can't afford it right now, but I'm just happy that I've finally found my perfect match. :)

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Vive Pro Color Vive for Highlighted Hair
rated 4 of 5
Kristenhonto 3/16/2009 12:48:00 PM

[I'd like to begin by saying that this review is for the shampoo as well.] After over a year of waiting, I finally got my hair highlighted, and I am now a proud blonde :). Anyway, my worst nightmare of course is my hair turning "brassy", which of course ocurred within the first couple of weeks considering that I unfortunately have well water. My stylist told me to find that purple shampoo and use it every couple of washes. I found out very quickly that its very expensive, for me at least. I tried the L'Oreal Vive Pro collection for 3 reasons: 1. L'Oreal products have yet to fail me, 2. It said on the back it removes brassiness, and 3. It was on sale. After just one wash with it, my hair was brighter, lighter, smoother, and smelled AWESOME. I will definetely be using this product for quite sometime.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 3 of 5
Kristenhonto 2/24/2009 1:47:00 PM

I have to admit, I had very high expectations for this product. Being that it's been all the rage in all the magazines, and with a brush that crazy, I figured it had to produce lashes just as nuts. It's very good, but nothing like I'd expected it to be. It really was no different than any other rubber wand I've tried. Overall, overrated.
