Toners -DDF - Glycolic Toner 10%
rated 5 of 5
MissPark 4/23/2012 4:08:00 PM

Let's start with the packaging. It's the same as the glycolic wash offered by DDF. While the packaging works for the thick gel, it doesn't work for liquids. It often dispenses too much liquid on my cotton pad. Try not to travel with this, because like someone stated below, it has a tendency to leak . Trust me..you don't want this to leak cause it smells pretty rank. Yes...this product stinks....like a skunk. My sister is super sensitive to smells, so she'd faint if she used this on her face. The scent doesn't linger too long. I use the exfoliating gel and Ole Henrikson sheer transformation cream on top and the skunky smell doesn't peek through. The product itself is wonderful. I have been using this for a few months and it has greatly improved my skin texture and clarity. I use the Glycolic Wash , Glycolic Toner, and Exfoliating Moisturizer from DDF, so it isn't just the toner that's making my skin look fabulous. I have used other glycolic products in the past (I've used the MD Forte line for a loooooong time) but this one is the best! I have acne prone skin with a lot of acne scars. I have no active acne and the scars are diminishing thanks to DDF. My everyday routine is: AM: DDF Glycolic Exfoliating Wash 5%, DDF Glycolic 10% Toner, DDF Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Moisturizer, Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation Cream PM: Boscia Make Up Cleansing Oil, DDF Glycolic Exfoliating Wash 5% (with my Clarisonic), DDF Glycolic 10% Toner, Acanya (benzoyl peroxide, clindamyacin prescription lotion)

Cleansers -DDF - Glycolic Exfoliating Wash 5%
rated 5 of 5

I ran out of the Purity cleanser that I usually use with my Clarisonic. My skin was feeling a little rough, so I thought I would try something with glycolic acid. The product is a gloopy gel that forms into a nice minty lather. It cleans my face, but it doesn't leave it stripped. This product has helped prevent breakouts on my sensitive face. My skin feels so smooth and clean. This product is not cheap, but it's such a nice product that I don't mind forking over the money. I have used glycolic acid before and usually go through a purging period. I didn't experience it with this product. I'm happy that I gave this a try! I'm going to purchase another bottle soon : )

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 4 of 5
MissPark 3/14/2012 9:52:00 AM

I'm usually a full coverage foundation girl, but I've been really interested in tinted moisturizers lately. I thought I would try this out considering it's one of the most popular tinted moisturizers on the market. I'm around NC15-20 and got this in Nude (oil free version). Porcelain would probably work too. It is very light and creamy, which allows the product to sink right into your skin. It did not emphasize my pores and gave a really pretty glow. I have pretty oily skin, but it held up well without caking at the end of the day. Now..I know that tinted moisturizers provide sheer coverage, but this was a little too sheer. I have redness around my cheeks and this did very little to cover it up. I wanted to use this to slightly even out my complexion. I will probably finish using this, but wouldn't repurchase. I've found better options with Tarte and Laura Gellar.

Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Sheer Transformation Creme

Oh man...I love this stuff. I have oily skin, but always have dry patches here and there due to my acne medication (Acanya). I was using two different lotions in the past (one for my dry spots and the other for the rest of my face), but I found it annoying to take both when I travel. My mom really enjoys this entire line so I thought I'd take a chance. I'm so glad I did! This lotion is lightweight, but moisturizes really well. It doesn't leave a greasy film and preps my face for my foundation. This lotion does not aggravate my acne prone skin, nor does it make my face oily, which I appreciate. I'm not a big fan of the tub, but if the product works, I don't mind. The only weird thing is that this product smells on certain people. My boyfriend used this a couple times and each time it left a bad smell on his face. Same thing for my brother. Maybe it's the facial hair? No clue. My sister also uses this and we don't encounter that problem. I had a bad flare up of acne a month ago and it left a lot of angry dark scars. My scars look a lot lighter and my skin is so soft with daily use. I don't use any other products other than my acne medication and my facial wash (Boscia make up oil cleanser and DDF glycolic cleanser), so I think it's the moisturizer that's helping the acne scars fade.

Foundations -Hourglass - Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation
rated 4 of 5
MissPark 3/13/2012 11:17:00 AM

After using this for two weeks, I can say that I really like it! I have very oily skin and most foundations tend to cake around midday. I'm around NC15-20 and bought this in Porcelain. This foundation almost instantly turns into a powder upon application, which I love! The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because the coverage is pretty sheer. I have some acne scars and redness and it doesn't cover much. Because of this, I usually mix this with Tarte Smooth Operator. It creates the perfect base! Now..this doesn't stop my face from getting oily (I don't think anything ever will). I still do...but I don't get cakey, which is the most important thing. You can fix shine with blotting sheets, but not a cakey face!

Moisturizers -Ponds - Clarant B3 Normal to Oily Skin
rated 4 of 5
MissPark 1/24/2011 11:22:00 AM

One of the better moisturizers you can find at the drugstores. I actually have the normal to dry skin moisturizer because I didn't know they had one targeted for oily skin. Although I have oily skin, this doesn't make me greasy. It's a light formula with a nice scent (kinda cucumber-ish?) There's a lot of product for only $8. Just keep in mind this product isn't going to work overnight. You have to apply it everyday for a couple months...which is what I did and I got great results. It has considerably lightened my dark spots and angry red spots leftover from blemishes. I really wish this came in a pump. I don't like putting my hands inside the container. Also, the top tends to come off easily. Maybe it's just mine? Everytime I travel, the top pops off! I ended up just scooping some out into a travel container. I should buy the small version I found at Target. Maybe I'll have better luck with that.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5
MissPark 1/24/2011 11:15:00 AM

This foundation is one I use on a daily basis. It's pretty hard for me to find foundation because I'm really pale with a very neutral skin tone. I am also very oily. I have been using MUFE foundations, but it is a little too expensive for daily use. Most drugstore foundation have pink or yellow undertones, so they don't work for me. I'm about NC15 and I use Buff in the oily/combination formula. The formula is really creamy and pigmented. I use Elf's powder brush to buff the foundation into my skin. Sometimes I'm lazy and use my fingers. I usually get the same results. This foundation isn't too photo friendly at times. It definitely makes your face look lighter than the rest of your body, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I usually dust a slightly darker powder on top, and it minimizes the white cast. The oil control is great! I can wear this about 6 hours without having to blot. I usually get this product when I have a coupon. I think $12 is a little excessive for a drugstore product, but if it works, I won't complain. It comes in a nice glass bottle, but I wish it came with a pump! I don't think it smells too bad, but I'm not really sensitive to smells. Just remember to moisturize well before putting this on! It can emphasize your dry skin.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
rated 5 of 5
MissPark 8/31/2010 12:48:00 PM

I love this foundation. I mean seriously...love it. I got this on a whim since the Mat Velvet was looking a little too heavy for work. I chose shade 30 and was thrilled that it matches my skintone. I have very oily skin so I was afraid this would be a cakey mess after a few hours. I put on two layers and all the redness and freckles were covered right up! I did have to use a concealer on a few blemishes, but I don't mind. At the end of the day, my foundation was intact with me only blotting once throughout the day. That's very rare for me. Needless to say, I'm keeping this and using it everyday.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Line Intensifique Extreme Wear Liquid Liner
rated 3 of 5
MissPark 8/31/2010 12:44:00 PM

I love liquid eyeliner and thought I would try this out since everyone seems to be in love with it. I really like the applicator (spongy applicators are my fave) and it deposits a really dark black color upon application. Awesome. What's not awesome is it doesn't stand up to my super oily eyes. Within a few hours, the eyeliner smudged and made my precise line look like a mess. Guess this just wasn't for me.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 4 of 5
MissPark 8/31/2010 12:39:00 PM

I love Make Up For Ever products so it's only natural that I try this too. This is a great foundation to use when taking pictures. It comes off really natural so I recommend it to everyone. I got the shade 117 during the winter (NC 20) and it works pretty well. I have pretty oily skin so I have to use powder and primer underneath so it won't slide off my face, but I do this everyday so it's not a hassle for me. They have a wide color range and you're bound to find a match. It's not cheap, but I don't mind. It's a good product and I will continue to buy this product to use on my clients.

Mascara -Cargo - Cargo blu_ray Mascara
rated 1 of 5
MissPark 3/4/2010 10:36:00 PM

Another useless product in my makeup stash. I got this in the blu-ray set at Sephora. I don't normally stray from my favorite mascara (Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume Couture) but since it's being discontinued in the US I might as well find something that will work for me when I run out of my remaining bottles. The mascara brush is actually a comb with brushes on one side. Let me just say...I HATE mascaras with this applicator. It does nothing but leave clumps of product on my lashes. I thought it being an HD mascara it would maintain somewhat of a curl. Even though I curled my lashes, once I put this product on my lashes drooped back down! To make it worse, this isn't even waterproof. I can't even use this on my lower lashes. I didn't bother keeping this. To the trash it goes.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
MissPark 3/4/2010 10:29:00 PM

Since MAC fluidline was a total fail for me, I thought I would have better luck with this. Another cream liner that didn't work for me....what a surprise. I have really oily, heavy eyelids so I need an eyeliner that won't transfer to my upper eyelids. Even with a primer, cream liners love to transfer to my upper lids. The product is creamy and application is a breeze. The black color is really pigmented and a little goes a long way. Like all the reviews here, the brush is useless. Scratchy and stiff...no good. I use my smashbox flat liner brush and it does a good job. The eyeliner looks good upon application but after a couple of hours it smudges all over the place. Panda eyes is not trendy in the office. Although it didn't work for me, it does for the other ladies in my family (gave mine to my mother - she loves it). I like the price and the fact that I can get it at my local drugstore. There are always specials going on for L'Oreal so you can always get a great deal. I guess I'm stuck with liquid liners until I find a cream liner that will work for me.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 3 of 5
MissPark 3/4/2010 10:20:00 PM

I have this in two shades. NC20 for my blemishes and NW20 for my dark circles. The pigmentation is great and a pretty good price for a concealer. I have really dry, dark circles under my eyes. When I say dry, I mean dry scaly patches under my eyes....not pretty at all. Once I put this on under my eyes it accentuated my dry skin and fine lines. If my undereyes weren't so dry, I think it would look pretty good. The same goes for blemishes. If your skin is dry, this concealer does not look good. However, if your skin is moisturized well, it works wonders. The lasting power is pretty long. I've used this on my friends for photo shoots/weddings and it seems to hold up really well. It tends to rub off on me during the summer, but only because my face gets really oily. I don't use this too often..only when I'm out for a quick errand or I misplaced my other concealer. It's not bad...just not my favorite.

Blush -Stila - Convertible Color Fuschia
rated 4 of 5
MissPark 3/2/2010 3:41:00 PM

It's a glaringly bright pink in the pot but trust me...it's much prettier on. I got this as a gift and have been using it since. A little goes a long way. A few dabs on your fingers and several pats on your cheeks will leave a beautiful pink flush that will last all day. I have combination skin and it stayed on all day. I tried this on the lips and it was quite drying. I'd just stick to using this on your cheeks.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Arena
rated 5 of 5
MissPark 3/2/2010 3:34:00 PM

I pretty much use this on a daily basis along with shroom and black eyeliner. It's a nice neutral color with not a lot of shimmer. I was using all the glitters, but the shimmer was a little too much for the daytime. I'm NC25 and it comes out as a nice peach color on my lids. I've used it on my friend for her engagement photos and it looks great in photos. A nice neutral to have in your makeup stash.
