Eye Shadow -MAC - Motif eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5

In the midst of all my MAC shadows, Motif is one that really stands out, but only after it's been applied. It looks fairly ordinary in the pot - a slightly frosted golden peach - but on the eyes, depending on light, it seems to shift, from a gorgeous light golden shade to an ethereal pink - like the effect of candlelight dancing on your face. It is absolutely stunning - definitely my favorite.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Electric Intense Lip Cream - Scandalous

A gorgeous wine/burgundy/brown on my NC25 skin. It's an Electric formula, so it lasts, remains very moisturizing, and refuses to bleed (I wear it with MAC Mahogany liner). After six hours of wear at work (admittedly, at a competing makeup counter), it still hadn't worn off.

Fragrances -Burberry - Burberry Classic EDP
rated 5 of 5
maliastyle 6/15/2004 5:46:00 PM

I never would have thought to try this - the only Burberry I count on is a scarf for casual winter afternoons. But after smelling this, I am crazy in love! It's a light, sweet, vanilla/amber scent, very soft and subtle, yet, as another MUAer put it, intoxicating! It's summer now, not a fragrance I would usually purchase in this middle months, but I see this as being very wearable for all four seasons. And like that trusty old scarf, this will serve me well on cozy, comfy afternoons. Pricing (in CDN): $80 for 100ml; $62 for 50 ml; $52 for 30 ml. NOTE: For this scent, it's very important (at least for me) to wait until drydown to smell it - it's completely different after about fifteen minutes.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Wet
rated 1 of 5

It should be renamed. Sebastian WHAT? Because that's exactly what I was asking myself when I tried to work this watery mess into my hair. *sigh* Stupid no return policies.

Hair -Sebastian - Laminates shampoo and conditioner

I agree with most. You probably shouldn't use this every day because of the high amount of silicone - as silky and shiny as hair appears after use, it will build up. Not a bad idea to rotate, because using the product every so often will make you feel like your hair is just getting shininer and shinier. Use it daily and you'll stop noticing a difference.

Lipstick -Clinique - Color Surge - Pink Plum

HOLY 80's! No, no, no, NOT for me - I'd been wanting to try this out because on my hand, it was this beautiful shimmery plum with a hint of pink. Thank goodness I tried it before buying, because it turned out awful, clownish! No thank you!

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist
rated 3 of 5

Not sure if this product does any more than just make my skin look better, or if it actually IS making my skin healthier. When used with Micro-D, my face is glowing, but we'll see how it holds up on my oily skin. The SA swears it makes her skin shine-free, but we'll see. Being that it's now entering summer, it'll be a good time to test out the product. I'll edit after at least an entire month's use.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Micro-D Thermal Refinisher
rated 5 of 5
maliastyle 6/10/2004 9:40:00 PM

I just walked out of the bathroom after using this for the first time. It might be early, but using this with Idealist, my skin feels baby soft, ultra clean, and not tight at all. It's thermally activated, as mentioned, so it feels very warm on contact and is for use with warm water. I'm reading some of the reviews and I'll see if I experience any stinging tomorrow like some other MUAers did, but as of right now, I like how it feels. I have enough samples of this to last for a few weeks, since you're instructed to use this no more than twice a week, so I'll see how well the samples go before I purchase a full size. EDIT: Purchased full size and LOVE it. My skin is baby soft from use to use, which is twice a week. Amazing stuff, well worth the $60 CDN I paid.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Electric Intense Lip Cream - Flirtatious

Pretty, soft pink that can be brightened or toned down, depending on the liner. Could be a YLBB - for me, it gave me a pretty flush.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Electric Intense Lip Cream - Film Star

Hmm. Pretty bronzey shade under department store lighting (and in the tube), but on me, NC30, it turned into this garish purplish shade with slight gold shimmer. Ick. Love the name, hate the color.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Electric Intense Lip Creme - Love Affair
rated 4 of 5
maliastyle 6/10/2004 8:21:00 PM

This lipstick is beautiful. Not entirely unique, but like groovynub said, is difficult to describe. It's a soft pink, a neutral shade that makes for a lovely YLBB color, but there is a sheen to it, although not a high gloss. The fig ingredient in this keeps the color lasting and intense while maintaining moisture. Love Affair is one of those shades that's just bound to make any face simply pretty.

Hair -Wella - Big Splash
rated 3 of 5
maliastyle 6/8/2004 12:08:00 PM

The smell I liked, the quality - not so much. I didn't feel that it did anything special for my hair, although my hairdresser uses it on me sometimes after coloring. I got this for dirt cheap - the extra large size for $7 (I bought another product for full price and got the second product for like 75% off). So I didn't feel too bad when I gave away the full bottle to a girlfriend who swears by this stuff.

Treatments -TiGi - Bed Head Chocolate Head Massive Hair Repair Treatment
rated 3 of 5

Thank God for noleygirl's advice, because I thought I spent $24 CDN on a useless hair product that smells like chocolate liquor (actually, that's not an entirely bad thing). I've used it as a rinse out, which did absolutely nothing... actually, it made my hair LESS manageable afterwards. But upon advice, I now use it as leave-in before blowdrying, or as a shine serum after styling, and my hair at least looks healthier, and smells divine. I know it can dry down to that Tootsie Roll smell on some, but luckily for me it retains that chocolate smell.

Lips -Biotherm - Aquasource Lèvres Moisutrizing Balm Protective Lip Care
rated 3 of 5
maliastyle 6/8/2004 11:53:00 AM

I was drawn to the pink packaging, and although the peach scent was pretty, it proved to be too heavy for me. This is a $17 balm/gloss that gives a smooth, lovely shine to the mouth. I wouldn't repurchase only because when I got this, I wanted a waxier lip treatment (like The Body Shop's cocoa butter stick), not a gloss. And for those days I do want a gloss to put over lipstick or to wear alone, one that not only gives me shine but moisturizes as well, I turn to a slightly cheaper, unscented alternative, Clinique's Superbalm.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Care Stick - Cocoa Butter
rated 5 of 5

$5 CDN and worth every penny! It smells like chocolate, moisturizes my lips very well, and is soft and smooth to apply. I was buying $13, $17, even $27 lip treatments and wasn't getting half the gratification I get from TBS' lip care stick. My formerly frequent chapping has completely disappeared with the use of this. I've stocked up on this stuff - one for my makeup case, one for my purse, and one for my car. I am so in love with this balm!
