Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - On The Loose Gold Essence
ziebam 2/1/2006 6:34:00 PM
These are the closest drugstore purchase to MAC pigments. Shades are highly pigmented, easy to blend and last all day. Originally retailed between $6-8 each. Each small pot contains 2 grams of product. If you are looking for pigments, then these are a great way to go because of the price. I find loose powder to be a pain in the neck to apply, and too messy. The colors are very nice though, all look beautiful and apply true to color with great staying power. Gold Essence is a shimmery white gold.

Palettes -MAC - Jet Black palette-Saks Excl.
ziebam 2/1/2006 11:59:00 AM
I love MAC palettes but i hate all existing shades! The saks exclusive palette came with 3 shadow shades and one shimmer cream in a black credit card sized palette but thicker. MAC was in crystal also in black. Super cute compact. Inside you get Greensmoke, Shale, and Shroom shadows. Greensmoke is a shimmery dark olive green with golden undertones, Shale is a shimmery purple with golden undertones and Shale is a light cream highlighter shade. You also get a nude Glitter Cream in Shimmerene which I dont really like. Great compact for a newbie but for those who collect MAC, these shades are all in different compacts.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Shadow Quad in "Polar Blue"
ziebam 2/1/2006 11:27:00 AM
i picked up the new Polar Blue quad in the new Color surge formula. For $25 you get four shades in a mirrored silver compact with mirror inside and one sponge applicator and one brush applicator. Inside you get four shimmery shades, a dark navy, a taupey grey, a white shimmer and and light blue shimmer. All four shades have shimmer and are nicely pigmented. Glide on smoothly and last all day. I wore the navy in the outer corner, with the taupe in the crease, light blue on the lid and white to highlight the browbone. Created a nice blue smoky eye. Great quality shadows, if you love blues then this is a must have.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Cobalt
ziebam 2/1/2006 10:48:00 AM
I love the new limited edition liners from Stila. They are super shimmery and four very unique colors. The product is much creamier now and very easy to apply with a lot of shimmer. Cobalt is a very vibrant shimmery dark blue, its not navy, more like a sapphire. Very great color. IMO this is what BB Sapphire gel liner should have looked like. Cobalt is a much more vibrant blue than the BB sapphire. Cobalt is also darker than MAC Hyacinth and not as vibrant. This new liner from Stila is very bright and shimmery. Lasts all day with slight smudging after 8 hours of wear. Retails for $16 and comes in a large round pot with clear base and color coordinated lid. I love that you can really see the shimmer when you wear these new liners.
