Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - On The Loose Shimmering Powder - Raisin Cane
rated 5 of 5

Wow, was I surprised to see everyone so "on the fence" about this color...I think it's terrific...another must have for brown eyed girlies! Don't be fooled by what it looks like through the side of the pot/jar. From that angle it looks very brown/plum, when you open it, it looks very plum w/ wine shimmer...but applied it's a great brown based plum w/ tons of deep/complex shimmer. I have found that it works GREAT w/ a rosy beige shadow (using raisin cane in the crease) to imitate the Fall03 UD look on sephora.com. I use this in the crease and as a liner and it's my favorite of all the OTL's I own.

Beautiful color...been described well already. This is a must have for brown eyed girlies! What a gorgeous, complex e/s with so much versatility! I say "yes" I'll repurchase but w/ the amount they provide I probably won't have to!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - On the Loose Shimmering Powders [DISCONTINUED]

These are so great...defintately comparable IMO to MAC pigments, just less of a color palette to choose from. Both the darks and lights are very complex and versatile...I've used them as shadows, wetliners, face highlighters and mixed w/ clear gloss for l/g. (five alarm, a deep shimmery pink/red w/ gold infused works GREAT like this). I have these in beauty queen (shimmery lavendar infused w/ gold), five alarm (described above), raisin cane-my FAVORITE (look boring plumish brown in jar but is a beautiful brown based plum w/ loads of gold shimmer) and starfish, a LE color that is very close to MAC's melon pigment. I will continue to buy these. Unlike others, I haven't found the darks hard to control but you do have to beware of spilling the jar. I too normally just use the cap excess.

Skincare - Face -Origins - Calming Solution

I love this! It's a liquid skin soother you apply between cleansing and moisturizing to "calm" skin. Mine is very sensitive and reddens/irritates easily. This zaps out the red and softens instantly. Will continue to buy!

Mascara -Almay - Almay Bright Eyes Mascara

I'm a "maybe" on repurchasing this as well. So far I'm liking it...not loving it. I've been using Loreal Voluminous and lash architect and this doesn't hold a candle to those in terms of lengthening/volume/curling. But I have it in blue black and the color does seem to make my brown eyes pop a bit. I use it as an "everday" mascara when I want a more natural look...I use my black lash arcitect when I want a more dramatic eye. I do want to try the black plum as well.

Eyeliner -Naturistics - Eye Stixx

I have two of these in the metallic/chromes....one in bronze(a nice coppery color) and one in gold (a pale gold champagne color). The bronze is great for my "everyday" look and the gold is the perfect color to make eyes pop. I use it in the corners and my inner rims and it's barely noticable color wise but really makes a difference. These are nice and soft, go on easy. The only thing I can't rave about is the pigment isn't great and sometimes I have to layer it on to see it. But for the effect I get...I'll do it!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - EyeLiner Pencil #658

Again....not the smoothest flowing liner but if you hit it w/ some heat from your hairdryer or swipe on your hand it'll go on fine. I was wanting MAC's titanium but didn't want to shell out $$$ for something I might/might not wear often. This is as close as I've found and I LOVE it. Very nice silvery blue that really isn't very dark. Great for brown eyes!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in 657 Deep Blue

This is such a gorgeous color. It really helps make my gold brown eyes pop. It can be a little rough going on but I've found that if I keep it sharpened and hit it w/ my blow dryer for a few secs to soften it up it glides right on!

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lip Shine in Sungold Pink
rated 4 of 5

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this color. OK...so the smell is a bit disarming but it fades quickly. This gloss appears very bright pink w/ gold shimmer in the tube but on my pigmented lips it goes on more of a nude goldish pink. It works well on so many different skin colorings. I will definately be buying this again.

What a little drugstore diamond in the rough! I have 3 of these, the clear, the sun glaze and the sugar glaze and they are STAPLES in my makeup case. Same quality as MAC lipglasses, much better price. The only downfall??? Very limited color selection.

Blush -Prescriptives - Creamy Cheekcolor (Spring 2003 Collection)

Like most will agree...packaging leaves something to be desired. But I was so happy to finally find my HG blush. It's rather pricey...but it works for me so I'll keep buying. I have a hard time w/ powder blushes not staying true to color once applied on me...I have this cream blush in "hopeful" which is a very neutral color that would suit about anyone. Staying power could be a bit better but it's still a great product.

Foundations -Illuminare - Extra Coverage Foundation

I love to use this as a concealer but for me, even mixing it w/ moisturizer it's too mask like. The color matches are great and it really does provide great coverage. I'll keep buying the sample sizes from WTF? to use as my concealer.

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying All-Day Lifting Concealer [DISCONTINUED]

This is a great product for undereye circles if you get it in 02-neutralizer which is a yellow based color. It's moisturizing and gives good, non cakey coverage. Staying power could be a tad bit better but for the price and the color match I'm not complaining.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Lip
rated 4 of 5
subdriverswife 5/26/2003 11:38:00 PM

I LOVE this lip gloss! I'd been reading raves on it, finally found it at a WalMart while traveling. I'd been searching for a nice pale, fleshy pink for the summer since I have highly pigmented lips...this is the PERFECT color. Paired w/ their Tiramisu lip liner I have a great nude, flirty look. Staying power isn't exquisite but then again, it rarely is on glosses. It DOES last longer than any gloss I have (including WTF? and MAC) EXCEPT my Wet N Wild glassy gloss. I'm looking forward to purchasing this in more colors.
