Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

I hate to hate this, but.....this particular lip butter was a FAIL on me. I was excited to try this as my first foray into orange lip colors, but one swipe pulled really pink on me due to my very pigmented lips. I tried to build up the color, but I just looked like I scribbled an orange crayon on my lips. It clung to every flake (beware!) and just generally looked bad. I will probably retry this for spring/summer, but right now I can't deal with it. Two lippies for general lip butter goodness.

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/14/2012 5:06:00 PM

This color shows up as the cool plummy pink version of MLBB. It is not as pigmented as Red Velvet, Raspberry Pie, or Candy Apple, but not sheer either. It is in the middle regarding pigmentation of these Lip Butters. Sugar Plum is creamy with no shimmer or glitter. I love this color for everyday looks. It would even look good on me if I was wearing no other makeup. I love it and would repurchase.

I tried this a few years ago. It didn't improve or worsen my skin. I will not repurchase.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Heather Silk
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/12/2012 7:16:00 PM

I like this blush a lot. On me, it's a neutral to cool pink that goes with a variety of looks. It's really pigmented; I dab my brush in the blush once or twice and that's enough for one cheek. This is a good value and for $3, worth trying. Definite repurchase!

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - Renewing Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
missykeyana 2/12/2012 6:52:00 PM

I used this as a part of the 3-step system years ago. It was okay. It was too gentle for me; I would have liked something that worked a little harder to remove dirt. When I ran out of this, my skin didn't miss it. I moved on to other cleansers to use with the toner and lotion.

Treatments -Pro Activ - Proactiv Repairing Lotion
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/12/2012 6:45:00 PM

Very good product. I used this as part of the entire ProActiv system years ago and it helped clear my skin. This lotion was gentle to my skin and did not cause any adverse effects. I liked that it only took a tiny amount for my whole face. That little bottle lasted a long time! Now that my face has mostly cleared up except for hormonal breakouts, and I'm terrified of aging my face before its time, I am scaling back the use of this to spot treatment only. However, I would recommend that any acne sufferers try this lotion, or the Equate version. They both worked the same for me.

Toners -Pro Activ - Revitalizing Toner
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/12/2012 6:38:00 PM

This toner has made the difference in my face! I started using it as part of the entire ProActiv system years ago. This product helps keep my skin clear and uncongested without drying it out. I believe it is helping my acne scars to fade faster than they would with no treatment. It just generally helps my face to look its brightest and most even. I don't say this much, but....this (and the Equate version) is my HOLY GRAIL toner! I will buy, buy, and rebuy as long as it is being made.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 4 of 5
missykeyana 2/12/2012 6:33:00 PM

I tried this for the first time several years ago after I stopped taking birth control. Within two weeks of using the system once a day (that's all I needed) I saw a difference. It eventually cleared me up about 90%; I still got minor hormonal breakouts every month. I would repurchase the toner and lotion if they ever stopped making the Equate version; I feel that the cleanser does not do much and would substitute another one.

Loved the smell, taste, look, and general consistency, but my lips itched from the glitter.

Blush -Black Radiance - Toasted Almond- Baked Blush
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/7/2012 6:05:00 PM

I love, love, love this blush. This is my go-to neutral blush. It looks good with anything I dare to put on my eyes or lips. I had to swirl my brush around a bit at first to get some pigment, but I guess it's the baked texture. It wears all day and does not break me out with regular face washing. I got it on clearance at Kroger at around $2, but I would gladly pay regular price for this when it runs out. This is a lovely addition to my makeup collection.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Stay Glossy - all
rated 2 of 5
missykeyana 2/6/2012 9:56:00 PM

I bought this in Endless Night, which looks like a purpley nudish brown with multcolored glimmer. It shows up on my lips as ...clear with glimmer?!? Two lippies for the formula, which is great. Not especially sticky or greasy. I'm disappointed in the lack of pigmentation and will not repurchase or try other colors.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 5 of 5
missykeyana 2/3/2012 11:01:00 PM

I saw these on sale at my local Walmart for $4.97 a piece and got so excited! I bought Brown Sugar, Fig Jam, Candy Apple, and Red Velvet. I reviewed each of these under the respective colors, but I'll include a brief description here: Brown Sugar - shimmery nude for darker skintones Fig Jam - Dark brown with peach undertones Candy Apple - bright, warm red Red Velvet - dark red-brown Fig Jam is lightly pigmented, Candy Apple and Brown Sugar have more pigment, and Red Velvet is very pigmented - a touch under regular lipstick. I like them all. Fig Jam is my favorite because I can throw that in my purse and add a little polish, even on completely no-makeup days. Candy Apple and Red Velvet are both wearable reds for me. Brown Sugar is my least favorite because of the glitter. It looks good fresh, but the color fades and glitter remains. Ick. All the colors boast a creamy formula which is neither especially moisturizing or drying on me. I always layer over lipbalms though. I fell for the hype and I am not disappointed. I can see each of these colors in my regular rotation of lippies. The only drawback is the price. Though I got mine for 5 dollars apiece, the regular price is 7 to 8 dollars everywhere and I think that is high for the amount of product you get. Except for Brown Sugar, I'll happily repurchase any of these and even try a few new colors. I'll have to see a sale and have a coupon though. Edit: Correction: I bought the Lip Butters for $6.49 each, I can't read my receipt correctly :S...I also lied to y'all regarding repurchase....When these went on sale at Target and Walgreens I snapped up Tutti Frutti, Pink Truffle, Sugar Plum, and Raspberry Pie. I'll review in detail under each color, but the short version is: I'll repurchase all of these again except Tutti Fruitti. These lip butters are everything I like in a lippie. For that reason, I bumped my rating from a 4 to a 5! Edit with random thoughts 10/7/12: After having these for a while, I can still say that these are my go-tos for lips. I've almost run out of Fig Jam and have repurchased. I swapped away Candy Apple because it had too much orange in it and it didn't look right to me. I've also decided not to replace Pink Truffle because Sugar Plum is a better mlbb on me. Though I won't repurchase Brown Sugar, it's good for lightening up vampy lipsticks. Like many of you, I mix lipsticks. Here's my fave lip butter mixes. Hope this helps: Brown Sugar + Sugar Plum = gorgeous plummy nude for darker skintones. Red Velvet + Cherry Tart = my perfect year-round red.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - Candy Apple
rated 4 of 5
missykeyana 2/3/2012 10:39:00 PM

Normally I don't do red, but I decided to try this color after falling into the hype for these butters. I like it! It is a bright, warm red, but it is very wearable for me. I wore it to work one day, and I got a lot of attention :) Looks good with just eyeliner and lots of mascara! Docked one lippie for the regular price; I think it's a little high for what you get. I would repurchase with a coupon if it was on sale. Update 7/31/12: I decided that this color is not for me because it makes me look a bit...yellow? Like the color is wearing me and not the other way around. I purchased Cherry Tart and I like it a lot better than this, so I swapped it away. No lippie deduction, but I would no longer buy again.

Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet
rated 4 of 5
missykeyana 2/3/2012 10:30:00 PM

Red Velvet shows up as a brown red burgundy color against my caramel skin. It is really pigmented, in fact the most pigmented of the four I bought (Fig Jam, Candy Apple, Brown Sugar being the others). This color is creamy with no shimmer or glitter. Staying time is 2-3 hours, but it leaves a nice burgundy stain. I like this color for fall and winter. I would repurchase if I ran out or lost it AND it was on sale and I had a coupon.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 5 of 5

They do what they were made to do, which is remove oil without messing up makeup. I don't wear foundation often, but I use these to keep from rubbing off my sunscreen moisturizer. They are good, but I've found that the e.l.f. ones work just the same and are only a dollar a package, so I won't repurchase.
