Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Midnight Blue

Great color, but I hate the consistency. I tried adding some mixing medium to thin it out a little and it just ended up flaking. I would definitely only recommend buying this product during buy one get one free sales because otherwise it is just too much for something that's not that great.

Definitely doesn't make your nails hard as wraps, but sure does make the polish last long. :)

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15
turkey2083 7/19/2008 2:49:00 AM
I really like this product. It is more of a tinted moisturizer than a high coverage makeup and feels so wonderfully light to wear. I'm usually very pensive about trying drug store foundations, but friend gave me hers because the light is too dark for her. This has become my every day makeup. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I had a really weird incident with it about a week ago. The color beads must have settled or something and it came out very dark and orangey. I went to put it on in the morning and it did NOT match my skin. I wiped it off, used another foundation and tossed the bottle in the trash, but the next morning I decided to give it another try and after shaking well it was fine. Oh, also, someone else mentioned it, but I also apply this on my lids as primer on my eyes and my eye makeup lasts forever. Another thing, I only buy this product when it is on sale. Honetly, 12.99 (what it averages around where I live) is way too much for 1 ounce of makeup that you really need a lot of for your entire face. There are department store foundations that are in the $20-$30 range that you use a lot less of and I think they're worth it. I use this because it is light and easy. I don't think I'd use it if I were serious about coverage.

Hair -Sebastian - Laminates shampoo and conditioner
turkey2083 7/9/2008 3:01:00 AM
I LOVE THIS SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER! It was recommended to me by a stylist nearly 2 years ago at ULTA when I had just cut my very fine hair pretty short and was having static problems. Like most shampoo/conditioner changes I was initially impressed, but what has kept me paying more than I'd like to for shampoo and conditioner is that this stuff really has improved the quality of my hair. It is soft, virtually tangle free and I haven't had static problems since I started using it. And I'm currently in San Diego, so it's really dry sometimes and I still don't have a static problem. This stuff is great and well worth it. EDIT: I just found out they discontinued this line. :( :( :(

Eye Shadow -Almay - Bright Eyes Shimmer Pearls
turkey2083 7/9/2008 2:01:00 AM
Being one who is easily distracted by shiny objects Almay's Bright Eyes Shimmer Pearls eyeshadow in 'Violets Are Blue' definitely caught my eye. The first disappointment was when I opened the package at home and found that it was cream and not powder as I had assumed, but I got brave and tried it today (bought it a while ago). There are three colors to it; a smoky purple, a light blue and a light pink and all have a silvery shimmer to them. Naturally, I tried the darkest (purple) on my lid, the blue on my crease and the pink to highlight my brow bone. Well that was a disaster. None of the colors showed up much at all. The purple was most disapplinting. It definitely added shimmer to my lid and the pink highlighted well, but there was a flagrant blue stripe in the middle of my eyelid. No matter how well I blended them these colors didn't belong together on my eyelid and their packaging and presentation led me in the wrong direction. "What to do, what to do," I'm thinking as I consider my options I glare at my makeup remover. Reluctant to give up, I look at my eyes and see that the problem is essentially that my lid is way too light and I look like a pale disaster that fell out of the 80's. So I scanned my makeup on the bathroom counter and look for something that is fairly neutral, remotely matches the disaster already in place and definitely darker to fix the imbalance of color on my lids. I decided on a L'Oreal HIP Pigment Stick in 'Captivating.' I applied it on my lid, saw the harsh line it created between the lid and the blue and wondered, "oh man, what have I done now?" But, again, before stressing out I got to thinking constructively. Then I remembered one of my prevailing philosophies in makeup – when in doubt blend! So I grabbed a silvery sheer color I have and blended the shit out of that situation. It was great! I got rid of the harsh lines and made everything just kinda melt together. Never doubt the possibilites of blending. Oh and I obviously don't recommend the Almay Bright Eyes Shimmer Pearls, but if you happen to be one of the suckers that fell for it, like me, at least there's something you can do with it. :)

Eye Shadow -NYX - Seafoam Green
turkey2083 6/30/2008 2:55:00 AM
I'm the second picture. Today, I used this color to blend and soften the line of my cyan in the crease of my 'peacock' eyes before highlighting with the purple. I'd never used the color before as I only bought it last week, but I looked at it, had a vision of what I wanted it to do and it performed quite satisfactorily. I've not tried it alone nor do I think I would, but I do like it for blending. It works well, very smooth.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe eyeshadow - Graffiti
turkey2083 6/30/2008 2:43:00 AM
Picture #3 is me. Graffiti is on my lid over a base of L'Oreal HIP pigment stick in mesmerize. This color goes on smoothly and blends well.(the creases are my eyelid squinting, not the shadow) This was my first Urban Decay purchase and I love it! I will definitely be buying more colors.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue
turkey2083 6/29/2008 12:42:00 AM
I bought this two summers ago and continually get it out for spring/summertime. The only thing that is a little disappointing about it is that it fades pretty fast as it's an EDT not and EDP. This is also a VERY popular scent, so if you're going for original this may not be for you, but I don't care if everyone is using it, I like the smell and get compliments on it all the time. I'm even allergic to nutmeg(which is one of the notes of it) so it makes me sneeze and I can't resist it.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets

These are great! I agree with the other reviewer that said that tissue paper and toilet seat covers work well, but the amazing thing about these is that they don't mess up your makeup. I can definitely testify to the toilet seat covers though....I road tripped it across country without makeup and those toilet seat covers were my friends.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - So In Love

Very nice scent. It's light and very girly. While it wasn't ever my favorite I definitely am disappointed that they discontinued it and am glad I still have most of a bottle.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Halo
turkey2083 6/28/2008 11:44:00 PM
This is my favorite Dream Angel's scent. It just hits the nose and makes you feel good. Unfortunately, Victoria's Secret has discontinued it. I knew something was up when they stopped making the body wash in '04, which is when they gradually began phasing it out. Occasionally one can find a bottle of it lingering around the semi-annual sale, but I can't say I've seen any of it this year. If you see it lurking around do buy yourself some as it is a real treat. Luckily, I have a large (4 oz) bottle that's mostly full. I don't wear it much anymore as it was really my high school/early undergrad signature scent, but it is quite nostalgic to wear and I'm sad that it was discontinued. I always got compliments on it.

I really like this scent....much better then the original Very Sexy. I think it's a very sensual scent. It makes me feel sexy. My only complaint is that sometimes if my nose is feeling sensitive it will make me sneeze.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Love Spell
turkey2083 6/28/2008 11:29:00 PM
About a year ago I got this inside a makeup bag I wanted and gave it to my roommate because it smelled horrendous. Her boyfriend became instantly obsessed with it and claimed it smelled like gummy bears. And that's about the best description I've found for it. Now ask yourself...do you really want to smell like a gummy bear? If the answer is no then maybe you should think twice before buying this. However, if you want to attract stupid 19-year-old college drop-outs then maybe it's the fragrance for you.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Strawberries and Champagne Spray
turkey2083 6/28/2008 11:24:00 PM
This stuff smells cheap and nasty just like most of the girls who wear it. Lol, not to hate, but it's not exactly a high class scent. I definitely agree with the cheap booze scent. It does smell like wine coolers. If you want something light and fruity for a teenager or something I guess it's cute, but I don't think it's acceptable as a fragrance. VS makes a lot of quality fragrances and this isn't one of them. If you want something light, sweet and classy I highly recommend Aquolina's Pink Sugar.
