Treatments -Chanel - Eclat Originel - Radiance Revealing Serum

I think it's overprized for what it does. It's just a decent primer, doesn't hydrate or make the skin radiant as it claims, it just "tightens"it up a little bit. Reminds me of Clarins beauty flash balm, even in the smell and colour.

One of the few scents that is fresh but not citrussy, or doesn't smell of baby's cologne.I'm not alone in thinking of it as a bit "masculine", and I'm not surprised that so many people wear it to work...I personally have worn it to every interview I've been too. I've been wearing it since I was 14! (I'm 29 now), so yes, I'll buy it again! Marie66

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Orange Blossom

Amazing, light, fragrant, fresh, but with a lot of personality. Most orangey scents just smell of floor cleaner, this one is different. I mix it with the figue scent and love it. Marie66

Treatments -Yves Saint Laurent - YSL Instant Pur Gommage sans grain

How can this product not be the most popular, loved, craved for beauty product in the world??? I can't even begin to describe the transformation it allowed in my face. I was having teenage skin aged 27. The product was recommended to me as a last resort, one month before my wedding day. I'm still using it now. Ok, my skin is not perfect, but it's soft and smooth, and even looking thanks to this. And the outofthisworld outbreaks I used to get are never happening again. It's very difficult to master how to apply this and make it work, it's sticky like honey, and you have to massage it it until your own skin warms it, and transforms it into a very smooth film over your face. Glide your fingers through this for three good minutes, then rinse off with luke warm water. Now touch your skin... Now isn't that amazing??? X Marie66

Eye Shadow -Yves Saint Laurent - Bayadere Style Eye Shadow
rated 3 of 5

I got this as a gift. The truth is, while the turquoise and blue shades are absolutely spot on, the orange one doesn't work well with them...at all! If you wear this in combination the result is exactely the name of it "bayadere"...it has different connotations in different languages, but in Spanish is often use to describe a woman whose only purpose in life is to attract male attention and please them, by singing and dancing... So points off for making the combination not work, I always think if you are going to bother doing a limited edition combination, it should really be a lovely one, not one where you have to cherry pick the colours... Sunscreen -La Mer - Fluid Spf 18
rated 4 of 5
marie66 11/3/2005 4:12:00 PM

Well, I have mixed feelings about it. It's undoubtably effective, and for combi skins like mine can be used as a moisturiser on its own. The dewy finish is a plus (that's if you are using la creme and your skin is looking as good as it should), but ...it's only a sunscreen...it really, really is expensive. I'm not sure if I'll buy it again. X Marie66

Moisturizers -Clarins - Normalizing Night Gel

Bizarrely, this is one of the few Clarins products that doesn't work whatsoever. A couple of friends and me tried it in the past, my skin looked WORSE the morning after...I persisted, but there was no difference at all. And kept breaking out.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme

I don't like the heavier cream, but I love the smell, so this one is lovely. I use it in the summmer with children's cologne on top, it's the freshest smell. And TOP TIP; use it as a make up remover and take off with a cloth damped in warm water. Amazing results.

This goes for the cleaner; it has a nice smell (well, it smells of aspirin, its main active ingredient, but I happen to love that smell). One of the best things about it is that, unlike other beta hydroxy acid preparations, it really doesn't dry out skin. The scrub is really mild, the foam it creates gets rid of make up so if you are acne prone, you don't have to try and test your skin with make up removers (that are usually really awful for acne prone skin). The other good thing is that it cleanses very well, my skin hasn't had a true true break out for the three months I've been using it. I would definitely recommend it.

Lipstick -Artistry - Sheer Champagne
rated 5 of 5
marie66 11/3/2005 2:05:00 PM

I'm in so in love with artistry lipsticks that I get a friend from the states to mail them through. Sheer champagne is amazing, smooth, rich but natural looking, stays on for aaaaaaaages and doesn't flake or dry. My favourite is black cherry; it looks very different from the bar itself, but it's a truly original colour...it's a shame this stuff relies only on internet and house parties, its quality is amazing. I'd compare it to top lipsticks like Chanel's and YSL (two of my favourite branches). Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Plus no animal testing and good botanical ingredients...

Liquid -Clarins - True Radiance (Light Reflecting Oil-Free) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
marie66 11/3/2005 1:55:00 PM

TRY TRY TRY this one. I only bought it because a sample fell on my hands, that day everyone commented on how healthy I looked. Usually, Clarins stuff is just to orangey and fake for my complexion and taste, but this is truly unique. It's velvety, very easy to apply, doesn't cake, lasts for ages, incredibly natural, but gives you a decent coverage too. You can also "add on", which you can't do with most products (if you apply too much the result is invariably fake), well, this one is not like that. And a bottle will last absolute ages, so it works out to be quite cheap. Buy it in "shell" if you are very fair, with neutral undertones, and in "clair" if you are fair but with warm undertones. And good luck. X Marie66

Fragrances -Agent Provocateur - Agent Provocateur EDP
rated 1 of 5
marie66 11/3/2005 1:43:00 PM

I really, really, really wanted to love this because I though the bottle was "naughty and nice" and that's how I wanted to feel...but thank God they gave me a sample. Unlike other scents like Guccy rush, that are difficult to begin with, it doesn't even "grow" on you. It's overpowering and just smells cheap to me, it actually smells just like any old plain rose scented air freshener.

Mascara -Bourjois - Talons Aguilles
rated 2 of 5

Not for girls with very little lashes. I got this as a present, it's already dry and I have only had it for one month... the purple shade lacks colour, and it's just not worth it. And the smell puts you off.

Average mascara, but ingredients are quite mild, so it won't irritate most eyes.
