Liquid -Paula's Choice - Best Face Forward Foundation SPF 25

I have been eagerly waiting for this to show up since I bought Paula Begoun's book in March. I am almost 40, and still have oily skin with monthly break outs and the beginnings of fine lines. Although I found the sample packets difficult to use, I found my shade, Champagne Beige, and ordered the full size bottle. The full size bottle did mix better. I found it easiest to apply with my fingers, working it into my skin in a circular motion. The good news- it does control oil fairly well, and stays looking fairly matte throughout the day. It did stay color true on my skin and not fade away as the day progressed. The not so good news- It has a very sheer to light coverage, even trying to build up the coverage it was less than I like. And it seemed to emphasize my fine lines. The better news- I passed it on to my 18 yr old daughter, who has similar coloring to me and slightly less oiliness. She hasn't liked foundations in the past because they feel too heavy to her. She loves this. Enough coverage to even out her skin tone, controls oil. I'm giving it a rating of 4, it does what it says, but it wasn't for me, but it seems to be great for younger skin.

This is one of the products I tried to help my oily lids hold onto eye shadow better. While they lasted longer than using nothing did, they did get past 4 hours. I won't be getting this again.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Basics

I have fairly oily skin, and found my eye shadows won't last all day, so I have been on a search for the perfect eye shadow primer. Eye Basics is the best one I have tried so far. I got it in the Wheat shade. I have hereditary dark eye cirlces and need something to not only hold onto my shadows, but make my eyelids a neutral canvas so eye shadow colors stay true. That Eye Basics does brilliantly. I can wear lighter shadow shades that I never could before with this on. The only drawback is that it seems to emphasize the tiny lines that have started on my lids. But so far, everything I have tried does that, so there's no making that go away. I will definitely buy this again, and highly recommend it.

I am nearly 40 with fairly oily skin, monthly breakouts and the beginnings of fine lines.
I read a good review of this in a cosmetic review book and went to the counter to ask for a color match and sample.
This is nearly a holy grail foundation for me. It has medium coverage, does not emphasize my fine lines, does not turn orangey on me but stays color true, and it does not disappear after a few hours wear.
The only drawback is that in very hot or humid weather the oily shine comes through. Below 70 degrees, even though I know I am getting oilier, I look *dewy*, not oil slicked.
So I am still looking for a hot weather foundation, but in my part of the USA, this works 9 months out of the year. A winner for me.
