Primer/ Corrector -Pur Minerals - Color Correcting Primer
blatantdream 3/17/2010 12:08:00 AM
I have to say I like this product. It works and it does what it's supposed to. It minimizes redness on my face really well without looking green. It goes on smooth and creamy. But I do wish it wasn't that creamy as sometimes I do end up with a little caking. It keeps my foundation in place. I wish it minimized pores more, I still notice some huge pores when using this product. I have used the Smashbox green primer as well and this works a lot better and my skin reacts better. I have had minor breakouts using the Smashbox primer and after awhile my primer and foundation would start sinking into my pores. I would repurchase this product whenever I run out even though the price is a bit on the high side.
Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Studio Translucent Mattifying Powder

This product goes on my skin and it looks dark. Not sheer at all. When I use this product alone, it works fine and looks sheer the way it's supposed to. Very strange. It only keeps my face matte for about an hour. Then I reapply and it starts to look cakey. That's really strange, but I guess you get what you pay for. I for one and sticking with my clinique powder compact.
Bronzers -E.L.F. - Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder -- Sunkissed
blatantdream 3/2/2010 3:27:00 AM
I like the color it's nice to use so I don't have a one color face after applying foundation. The only complaint I have is it's a bit too shimmery for me. If it was more matte I would have given it the extra lippy.
Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Studio Line Eye Primer Liner Sealer

I'm not really sure how to rate this. The primer side does not work. It was my main reason for buying it. It creases terribly on my oily lids. It's better suited as a concealer but even then it doesn't work for me. It goes on a bit cakey. The liner side works. It does what it's supposed to do, turn my eyeshadows into water proof, smudge proof, eyeliner. But I didn't buy it to do this! I have other ways to use my eyeshadows as eyeliners. Overall this was a terrible disappointment, but for the price I can't really complain. Live and learn.
I love this color it's like a plum. It goes on nicely and looks gorgeous! The only complaint I have is it starts to look messy after it's been on for awhile. Even with lip liner it doesn't stay in my lips and starts to spread. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I do love this color.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

This stuff keeps my eyeshadows on all day and doesn't crease. I was very impressed that it works wonders on my oily lids. I could not use most things as a base because it would just melt off a few hours later. I highly recommend this product even with the stories about the terrible packaging and experiencing it first hand. I recently finished a tube with the old applicator after depotting it and finding I still had more than 50% of the product still left inside! The new tube I am now using has the club foot applicator. While I think it's a great improvement, I still think it can't reach all areas on the interior. The new wand is also a lot harder to get in and out of the tube. Package design is still rather disappointing but the product is great.
Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips Lip Gloss in Ginger
blatantdream 3/2/2010 2:23:00 AM
It has really sheer color but it sparkles and is really glossy. I love the tingly feeling I get on my lips after I apply it. I'm not sure it really plumps my lips, but maybe a little? The shimmer/sparkles don't stand out a lot and it actually looks really nice and works well for this product.
Pressed Powders -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
blatantdream 3/2/2010 2:17:00 AM
I use this to set foundation and it gets the job done. It's sheer so it doesn't really leave any color on my face. A lot fo times during the day I will use it to neutralize shine. It also does a great job at doing that. I've been using this powder for 5 years now and I don't plan to stop buying it unless they discontinue the product.
Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version

I'm a Revlon Colorstay user and I heard that this was a comparable product. I saw it on sale at my local drugstore at 40% off retail. I purchased a bottle and it was only a so-so match. I find the consistency the same as the Revlon, and it also doesn't come with a pump! Very annoyed at wasting product. On my face at first it looked fine, but not even 2 hours later I had a very oily and shiney t-zone. I do normally have a oily t-zone and dry skin everywhere else. But with this on it was just extremely oily. I set the foundation the same way I set the Revlon one and it rubbed off on to clothing. I don't have that problem with my regular foundation. It has good coverage and goes on smoothly and is easy to blend, but due to the other concerns I will not repurchase this.
Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gio (for women)

This has a very fresh and clean scent, almost like a breath of fresh air. I love the smell and it's a classic. However it doesn't have great staying power and after 3 hours or so it's almost unnoticeable.
I love this perfume. It smells so good and has great staying power. I get compliments all the time and people are always asking me what I'm wearing. It smells beautiful without being overpowering. I would purchase this again when I run out. I'm even considering getting the largest size available!
I love this foundation. It goes on smoothly and blends nicely. I got the one for combination/oily skin in 310 Warm Golden. They don't have an exact match for me which is no big deal because I buy them during those bogo promotions that they have at the drugstore. The color stays on all day and looks very natural. I set it with the clinique stay matte powder. It doesn't feel heavy and has really good coverage. The only complaint I have is the bottle. It doesn't come with a pump so it's wasting lots of product. No big deal for me since I am a mix of 2 colors, I have a separate pump bottle that I put the foundation in after I mix them. It just saves me time from having to mix whenever I need to use it.
Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover

I love this stuff, before it I was using avon and clinique. I can't believe I looked over this little gem in the drugstore! It's so cheap when it's on sale and it works so well! It works great on my skin and makeup just melts right off. This eye makeup remover is dual phased silicone based, not oil based! It is oil free! I already have oily skin and I don't want to put more oil on my skin. Why would i pay more for a product like this if it was oil rather than buy baby oil which is much cheaper and also gets the job done? This doesn't burn my eyes at all. I use it to remove stubborn waterproof mascara. There is a slight oily feeling (but remember its not oil) that rinses off easily with any cleanser. I simply use the H2O cleansing water or cetaphil.
Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Pore Perfecting Facial Polish
blatantdream 2/27/2010 3:11:00 PM
This scrub was expensive! However I found it cheaper to buy the prosize when they are running promotions. The scrubbing grains are just the right size and not too abrasive. I use this once a week and one tube goes a long way. My pores look smaller and I've had less breakouts (though that might be attributed to the rest of my skincare routine as well, but every bit helps) on my acne prone skin. The scent is very refreshing and the consistancy is just right for me, I like it thick so it doesnt run everywhere when I am trying to scrub.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero

I have to say I was very disappointed with this. It had such rave reviews and I had high hopes for it. I received it as a gift and immediately went to try it on. It smudges within minutes, so I thought okay, I have oily lids so maybe wait a bit for it to set. I waited and waited and nothing, it still smudged. I tried it with UDPP, setting with eyeshadow, and it always smudged. It stayed a little longer maybe 1-2 hours with the UDPP and the eyeshadow, but that was it. I ended up with raccoon eyes. This is supposed to be waterproof and smudge proof, so it really baffles me at why it doesn't stay on. I'm better off staying with my L'Oreal HiP cream liner, at least that one stays on.
