I love this lipstick - I am glad I found this again, I used it for so long I guess I got bored and tried all the lipsticks at sephora etc. It is a warm browny pinky nude, warm tones - my fav. It lasts long and feels nice on etc. PS - I love the loreal website - it gives you color swatches for all their color riche colors (there are lke 40+) and tells you if they are warm/cool or nuetral. I can't tell you how much money this has saved me, cool colors being the bane of my existance!!! I am very warm/autumn - I hate using the whole seasons thing - very 1980's but for me "autumn" really works to explain my coloring.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Gel
rated 5 of 5

I like the 2% salicylic acid  gels on the market - this is a very good one. It has botanicals including witch hazel with I think help a lot. I have dry skin and big red bump to white head type acne. This gel helps bring the white head up to the surface faster so I can excise it easier. I do not expect overnight results in terms of a zit magically disapear, but I commonly get white heads to form in this time, if not sooner. I give it 4 stars not because it is a magic formula that will vanish zits, but I have a tube on reserve and will never be without it - esp while traveling. I would have given it 5 stars if the tube was bigger. PS it was the editors choice from allure!!!!!! Edit - yes, the tube is small, but I have gotten a lot of use out of it - a litttle goes a long way - I have given the 1 star off back!!!

Mascara -Paula Dorf - Cake Mascara
rated 1 of 5

EDIT - this contains thimerosal which has no business being in makeup. I found this out when I was pregnant with my son and I FREAKED lucky for me I had not used it for a few years because I am honestly fickle with makeup. I will leave me my old post incase anybody wants to read about cake mascara in general. Be aware of the ingredients however because the formulas for cake mascara are left over from the 1950's hence the scary ingredients. I truly wish I had updated this when I first found out but forgot about this post until today, so sorry about this - I hope nobody bought this toxic makeup because of my review!!!!!!!!!!!!_____________________________ i bought this a long time ago and have come back to it. it makes my lashes look natural and finished - I find that most other mascaras dry out and clump on my fast I HATE THAT!!!!!. I like the fan brush and I think the cake will last forever, finally a mascara that I get my money's worth. Very happy to have found it, I hope it is around for a log time update: You can use a mascara wand as the other posts say, it gives a more dramatic lash - my fav mascara even more because of this - but I think using a mascara wand will put a real dent in the cake MUCH faster than the wand, but I will still re-buy when I run out. ---- I don't know - mascara has been an ongoing thing with me - I now like origins underwear for lashes and rimmel definition mascara with the little comb - never flakes or anything else nasty. May come back to paula dorf at some point - the best thing about her mascara compact is that it stays fresh - I can have it for yers and think it is safe to use - NEVER feel this way about mascara in a tube!!!!!!

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend

I have been using soft honey - way to dark for a minute or two - but then it becomes just like my skin color, but a bit richer in color which I like. I have also bought buff beige - my color in cg smoothers. I went back to buff beige when I ran out of soft honey (for the 2nd time) I do not know if they have updated the formula, but buff beige (which is newer) is a softer formula than the soft honey which seems a bit moussy comming from the pump and seems to cover better than soft honey - which I had no complaints about to begin with. The color is sooo dead on I had a hard time blending only because I could barely see it on my face to blend - not a real problem just kind of amazing and funny at the same time. I do not know if the coverage is better because of the formula being new (???) or if the color being sooo close to my skin tone that it just works better in terms of color adapting and hiding flaws. I love how it goes over my sunblock - there is no white cast shining though which I did have as a problem, but I think it was the sunblock in question. I am happy to switch to buff beige when I run out, it is also easier to find - with all the colors they have not all stores carry soft honey but do carry buff beige. EDIT: I have always gone back to this foundation - I live in NYC and here by the ocean it can be a bit transfering onto white tees ect, I am sure with some powder on to this would be no problem - but I HATE powder so stopped wearing this some of the time in NYC. Well, my husband and I have decided to move to Boulder Colorado, a MUCH dryer climate for my already dry skin. I had packed my more expesive foundations and were using them for a few days but to no avail - I looked cakey, dry and horrible OLD and dry and OLD. I was really horrified!!!!!! many woman in Boulder it seems wear no makeup and for the first time I felt like the girl with too much foundation on and I HAVE NEVER BEEN THAT GIRL BEFORE!!!! Then I tried my beloved trublend!!!!!!! It looked great and the transfering was no problem!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! - plus it is really cheap - IT LOOKED GREAT EVEN AROUND MY NOSE AREA!!!!!!!! I also found that the coverage is buildable - but also a fab concealer base (I LOVE RIMMEL HYDRA SENSE CONCEALERS!!!!!) I use a dipped finger under my eyes and it barely anyting creases and I DO get coverage!!!!!!I again felt dewy and glowly and about 15 years younger skin wise than they days before using other expensive foundations!!!!! BETTER THAN MY Illuminare (no so much "better" looked the same - great, but Illuminare is WAY to expensive and too small a tube) BETTER THAN MY Chantecaille real skin (again I like a lot but EXPENSIVE and I REALLY go though it FAST) These 2 foundations are the closest I would compair trublend for me - but I like trublend more for price, colors, AVAILABILITY ect ...Oh - and I don't see my white face sunblock under it anymore - I jus use more and go over it again if I still see it, I switched sunblocks and that may have helped as well - this is a non issue for me now. BELOW IS MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF TRU BLEND, INCASE ANYONE IS INTERESTED I do like this foundation very much . I had a very bad time choosing a color, and got one too dark, but give it time and it lightens and blends to my skin tone but a little more tanned - not what I expected but very nice. Still don't know what is the correct shade for natural pale me - would buy it if I could find it. Hides redness and veins, not great coverage but things are so less obvious and natural looking you just don't see problems. I have used self tanner on my face just to even stuff out before, I can use this instead now. Feels great and dewy/ shiny - I like it very much for my dry skin, but may be too much for others. Pump ok - big for purse, but delivers product well. Cover girl needs to work out the names / shades. edit: I have been using this foundation for a while and I do still love it - still dark but it blends so well and looks so natural, a great base for concealer as well - i do need to use a darker concealer, medium instead of light but I don't mind. I wear soft honey and am very happy with it. My only complaint is that is does rub off on clothing badly, at least for me - I need to wear a white lab coat and scrubs in school and boy, what a mess - but I think a lot of things would do this - white lab coats are as unforgiving as it gets!!!! Still good, but I have started to look for other foundations that won't do this. PS - I don't set it with powder - I HATE POWDER and never wear it, I am very dry. Maybe with powder it would be different. Still worth a try though I think.

Mascara -Rimmel - Extreme Definition
rated 5 of 5
amy212 7/1/2004 12:54:00 AM

This is the best and only mascara I have loved. I used to wear feather lash black - brown, but it did smear and dry out quickly. This gives me the same lashes but much better, defined and longer than I could imagine. It did take some time to get a hang of the comb - I think the tube is filled to high and I needed to wipe the comb the first few times, but now it is fine. It never smears or runs and EVERYTHING would smear on my "dewy"skin. It is also super easy to remove I just add pressure from makeup remover/oil fingers and the mascara removes much like the tubing mascara I have wanted to love! The gel formula is much better than anything I have tried. I also love the black/brown option, still dark but WARM, not ASHY GREY that cool blacks look like on my warm/yellow skin - I HATE that!!!

Mascara -L'Oreal - FeatherLash [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
amy212 5/4/2004 1:20:00 AM

For years I would want to try mascara every six months or so, each time being left with spidery, fake, greyish lashes - it always looked bad no matter what band. Featherlash in black brown is the only mascara that I have bought tube after tube of. It is natural looking and I love the color, combing some sense to my long and tangled lashes. It does smear which is a drag, but that's probably more to do with my "dewy" makeup than the formula. All in all I am very happy with this and hope it never gets discontinued. edit: this mascara has fallen out of favor with me. The tubes dry out too fast and then it gets really dry and crumbly - everything I hate. I have liked rimmel but also has problems with that sometimes, but great if i remember ti wipe the comb. My new fav is paula dorf cake mascara, I bought it a long time ago and have gone back to it. It is also very natural but does not get dry etc. EDIT- reciently, I bought this new hoping it would be different - it was NOT - a huge me, I had more mascara on my face than my eyes - but I found an old water proof tube I had in lying around and tried it and it was fine - so the moral of this story is only buy the waterproof kind - I give the non-waterproof version 1 star

Self Tanners -Decleor - Auto-Bronzant Lait Lumière Hydrant-Self Tanning Hydrating Emulsion SPF 4
rated 5 of 5
amy212 5/1/2003 12:57:00 AM

Yes, this does not give you a dark tan - but I like that. It makes me glow without worrying about an uneven or streaky look.. It just evens out my skin tone like a tinted moisturizer would which is good for me. This allows me to not wear foundation in the summer without worrying about my broken capillaries or minor flaws being too obvious. Never orange but light gold -I am a medium warm toned and "nude" is a common shade of foundation that I wear from maybelline etc. I do recommend this to anyone who likes a touch of color but afraid of self tanners the way I was. This is the first self tanner I have ever used, being lucky to have received samples. I thought all self tanners were this nice and natural, but then was able to test many others from Sephora etc. Boy, was I wrong. I had plenty of orange stripes on my arms I could not wait to fade. I am very happy with this tanner and best of all I don't worry about making mistakes when applying it. Now it is expensive, around $27 I think, but you get a lot and I don’t use that much at once, just bothering with my face, neck and chest area Good Luck
