Treatments -Advanced Skin Technology - Green Cream by AST

The first few weeks of use did give me refined pores, improvement in color/tone and reduction of fine lines.Minimal peeling. As I understand it, the peeling is caused by the ethanol in the product-not the retinol- and is not indicative of results. I was very impressed with my initial results. Then I ran out of my sample and I let almost 2 weeks lapse before I ordered the full size product. My skin was already reverting to the aging dullness I had sought to combat. It became very apparent to me then, what the GC had accomplished. The full size forced me to re-aclimate my skin to the true strength of this product(as light and air deactivate it) I don't think I experienced the full effect until I purchased the full size. I now use it 2x/week and am very satisfied with my glowing results!I believe it also helps keep my skin clear of acne, since it aids in removing dead skin cells which can clog pores. IMHO,GC is a must for mature &/or sun damaged skin! Will definitely repurchase!!

Cleansers -Aqua Glycolic - Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Pamann 7/27/2004 3:39:00 PM

So glad I found this via the skincare board! Very comparable to MD Forte(I can't tell the difference, performance-wise). My skin is acne prone. This does the trick of thoroughly removing make up (not for eyes, though).I'm combo/acne-prone and this cleanser leaves my skin feeling comfortable and 'normalized', not tight or dry. As others have mentioned, apply to dry(not dampened) skin and rinse with water or damp washcloth. A bargain and it works- who could ask for more?! 6 oz Retails for approx $9-$12 at local pharmacy(Savon or Wal Mart)

Treatments -Linda Sy - Facial Lotion with Lactic Acid
rated 3 of 5
Pamann 7/13/2004 11:41:00 PM

First the ingredients: Purified water, lactic acid(partially neutralized), mont-morillonite clay, methylparaben, propylparaben. The PH(via Linda Sy) 4.5-5.1 This is meant to be a chemical exfoliant.Initially, I loved this stuff,no stinging/irritation like I experienced with glycolic lotion. But after I found out the PH, I began to wonder if the Lactic Lotion was contributing much at all to my overall results.I think the Green Cream accomplished all and the lactic lotion neither helped nor hindered. I have begun to use a different AHA at the correct PH, and think I'm getting better results. 2oz=$20 @ Lindasy.com No repurchase, afterall.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar

I really didn't think I would like this one- the sample from Sephora was not a true indicator. Spritzed some on in the store though and became enamored of it!! It is a foody scent, but I have recently discovered I love foody scents. This one has a nice balance to it, not overboard on the sweet- I guess it does appeal to the young gals, but I'm young at heart. Now I just go with the scents strictly on my own preference. Love it!

I loooove this eye shadow! I have been in a bit of a brown/ matte rut for the past 10 yrs. And shimmer was out- crepey lids(sundamage) but this even I can use!! I do use mat allover first then accent crease w/ this beeeyouteeful brown(ish) color- subtle- yes, but a great update for me! Awesome texture- blends effortlessly! Highly recommend!

Eyeliner -Sue Devitt - Eye Intensifier in Tanzania
rated 5 of 5

This is the most awesome pencil liner I've ever used. The formula is silky smooth- no skipping across the lid- just a soft perfect line. And I agree with the reviewer several lines down- the blender end is great! I can smudge the liner right into the lashline. Unbelievable staying power- hardly a hint of shadow at the end of a sweltering day!I'm all about simplify. For me, a product so effortless in application where the color stays true/ & doesn't move is worth every penny!

Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Facial Blotting Tissues
rated 5 of 5
Pamann 6/14/2004 5:02:00 PM

I really like these compared to the Clean & Clear ones, even though the price is a little high. Bought the little metal travel box that covers them- my purse eats everything otherwise. These are the unscented, untreated ones. Didn't disturb my makeup one bit. Exta dust of powder- I'm good to go- none the worse for wear. 130 sheets for $10. Would repurchase.

Not an awful powder- have this in transparency neutral 08. Good color match.Didn't cause breakouts. Nothing really strikes me as outstanding, overall.Would not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Colour Dose - Montego Beige
rated 3 of 5
Pamann 6/14/2004 4:45:00 PM

I was looking for a good primer for my lids so I chose this very nude shade. When applied it gives the barest hint of shimmer-very smooth-didn't crease(don't usually have a problem with that) but really, when I forgot to apply, I couldn't tell the difference. My powder shadow wears the same with or without. Cannot recommend.

Palettes -Make Up For Ever - 5 lipsticks palette
rated 3 of 5
Pamann 6/5/2004 10:36:00 AM

The colors are very pretty-and mixable-comes with a brush. But I am just not a lip brush girl- too time consuming- I'd rather just swipe & go with a tube. And the lipstick itself had no staying power whatsoever. That's what I get for an impulse buy.Won't repurchase.

Lipstick -NARS - Damage
rated 5 of 5
Pamann 6/5/2004 10:28:00 AM

I have been looking forever(and a day!) for a lipstick color that is the same hue as my lips- and this is it! To me neutral should be the same color as your lips.I love this color!- that said, the formulation leaves something to be desired. The application is smooth and a tad glossy, but it dries out fairly rapidly and I need some gloss or moisture after only a few hours.Luckily the color stays true- so it still looks nice- just uncomfortable matte.Would probably repurchase though- unless I find the same color in a different finish.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
rated 2 of 5
Pamann 5/28/2004 5:35:00 PM

Overall, nothin' special. I just needed something light for under makeup/ day wear and didn't break me out. This definitely fills those requests, but the smell- Ugh! I couldn't get away from it! I wonder if they make an unscented version? Oh, well, doesn't matter because I won't repurchase, regardless.

Treatments -Black Opal - essential fade complex
rated 5 of 5
Pamann 5/28/2004 5:21:00 PM

I have been using for about 4 wks and have definitely seen a reduction in Sun spots or freckles. The main area of improvement is my shoulders where the sun damage were those groups of freckle/spotting. Completely faded most of it with only an evening application. I have not been able to regularly apply to face since I'm not sure how to layer it w/ other active ingred(retinol, AHA's, etc) but I really like the gel base of Black Opal as it hides easily under make up and isn't thick like creams & oh yes, unscented, thank goodness! Also doesn't cause breakouts. Kinda' expensive for the amount of product ($12.99 @ Eckerds for .90 oz)Might repurchase if I still need help.

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - Cover Girl CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
Pamann 5/28/2004 4:50:00 PM

I didn't expect to like this product, but I do! I bought this after reading many recs about tinted moisturizer being superior to foundation and providing only a hint of coverage instead of a mask. I have always been a bit heavy handed w/ foundation and know that is my downfall with my "aging" skin (38yr) So, in an effort to update my look I came up with the bright idea(actually read a post) that I could "make" my own tinted moisturizer.I use my (Shiseido)concealer brush to brush a sheet of TM across my face then brush a stripe of foundation across the top and blend! Very easy and the effect is a little more sheer and dewy and doesn't cake up or accent every little line.In areas where I'm more red or need more coverage, I forgo the TM and use only foundation. Great way to stretch out the necessity of purchasing foundation (my most expensive cosmetic, usually)and best of all it doesn't break out my oily T/ combo/ acne prone skin. Would def repurchase! Love finding a bargain that works! Edit: This stuff breaks me out like crazy when I began using it daily. Too bad.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Lift Concealer
rated 3 of 5
Pamann 5/25/2004 3:55:00 PM

I bought this specifically as an undereye concealer. I don't have darkness under my eye but simply wanted to blend w/ the rest of my face w/ out accenting my lines- which are not too pronounced except when I wear makeup. Well this stuff wasn't that much better than foundation alone. Even tried mixing eye cream w/ this concealer- still looked bad.Expensive- won't re-purchase.
