Lip Gloss -Neutrogena - Moisture Shine Lipgloss in Dizzy
rated 5 of 5

Beautiful, subtle, warm-ish nude-pink color with a little shimmer. It has a lovely, light texture and fragrance. Furthermore, I love that it's nowhere near as sticky as most lip glosses. The ultimate test: only slight traces of gloss on my coffee cup. I'm currently using it with Smashbox Sheer Pencil Liner in Smashing Muse. They complement one another perfectly.

Pretty color and I really liked it for awhile, but the tacky texture and gunky feel got to me after awhile.

Lip Liners -Prestige - Lightshine Sheer Gloss Liner
rated 5 of 5

I bought LIghtshine Sheer Gloss Liner in Honeysuckle as a substitute for my fave lip gloss liner, Clinique Sheer Shaper for Lips in Bare Buff (which was recently discontinued). It's a little cooler in shade than I'd like, but still a perfectly adequate replacement. The subtle pigment and smooth texture is comparable to the Clinique gloss liner. They're also a steal at $4.99 a pop vs. $15 - $20 for similar designer brands. I highly recommend this product.

Lip Liners -Clinique - Sheer Shaper for Lips "Bare Buff"

This is my favorite lip liner ever! I tend to wear more glosses than lipsticks and this is perfect for sheer color. I really like the light texture and sheer coverage. Sheer shapers define my lips in a very natural way where regular lip liners are often too matte, cakey, and exaggerated. It's unfortunate that they've decided to discontinue this product. It'll be difficult to find another liner with such subtle pigment and smooth texture.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Black
rated 4 of 5
MegamiMoon 12/13/2006 5:37:00 PM

This is the only liquid eyeliner that I use. I'm Asian with small, almond-shaped eyes and there's a very specific line shape that I must use to accentuate my eyes. I can easily achieve that with this particular eyeliner because the smooth formula glides on easily, the brush is just fine enough, and the handle is long, which maximizes control during application. From personal experience, I find that this eyeliner lasts all day, that is, if you keep your face dry. I'll have to subtract a lippy for the fact that this product is not waterproof. Otherwise, I love it.

Foundations -Unlisted Brand - Mineral Basics Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
MegamiMoon 10/23/2006 11:12:00 PM

I really love this product. I've tried so many different types of foundation I've probably lost count. I've never been as pleased with any of them as I have been with Mineral Basics Mineral Foundation. MB mineral foundation gives photoshop-worthy coverage without feeling heavy, greasy, and cake-y. My skin looks notably flawless after application. I've gotten soooooooooooooo many compliments regarding my complexion after I began using it. Strangers come up to me and tell me how lovely my skin is and demand to know what product I use. I've got both of my sisters using it now as well as a number of our friends. We never leave the house without MB mineral foundation on our faces. The best part is that it's devoid of harsh chemicals and provides natural sun protection so it's non-irritating and healthy for the skin. This is one product that I swear by and will continue to use for a very long time. *edit* I've since removed one lippy. My sister and I found that after long term wear, we would tend to break out a little. I'm not sure if it's the foundation or the kabuki brush. Probably the brush because it's difficult to clean and the bacteria buildup causes acne. It would be quite a hassle to have to replace kabuki brushes every month or so. Therefore I'm not sure if I'd use this product daily, maybe for special occasions only.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Spirited
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 4/12/2006 5:51:00 PM

I find this shadow duo to be decently pigmented. The problem that some reviewers may have is improper application. As highly pigmented as a drugstore eyeshadow may be, budget doesn't allow these companies to make products comparable to high-end makeup labels such as MAC, for instance. Thus, to get the most out of your drugstore shadows, I suggest priming your eyelid with a complementing creme shadow a few shades lighter than the powder shadow you plan on using. This allows your eyelid to grab as much pigment as possible from the powder shadow. I find that Revlon's Illuminance creme shadow palettes do the trick.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Charisma #518
rated 5 of 5

This is a very good, highly pigmented duo that I recommend for shading or as a vibrant color wash. As with all powder shadows, I always prime my eyelids with a complementing creme shadow a few shades lighter. This technique allows your eyelids to really grab as much pigment from powder shadows as possible and makes the color last all through the day. I'm partial to Revlon Illuminance creme shadows for this particular job. They come in versatile, 4 color palettes at the drugstore and if you look on eBay, they have 8-10 color palettes available at very low prices.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks Lip Gloss -Peaches N Gleam
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 4/4/2006 3:14:00 AM

This is a very pretty nude/peachy-champagne color with a slight shimmer layered over neutral lip pencil. I find it perfect for everyday use to achieve the look of understated lips with dramatic eyes. The texture is smooth and not sticky, it doesn't dry out my lips, it has decent staying power for a gloss, and a pleasant vanilla frosting scent.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaslicks in Strawberry Ice
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 4/4/2006 3:07:00 AM

I bought this to use as a funky lip color for an icy-themed photo shoot since it had such a mod, pale, frosty quality to it. I never thought I'd use it again, it seemed to much of a novelty color. However, a few weeks ago I decided to give it a try for the heck of it. If layered on too thick, it's much too pale on my southeast asian skin. However, I noticed that if I lined and filled in my lips with a Jordana brand lip pencil in "Natural" and applied a thinner layer of Strawberry Ice with a lip brush, I get a very complimentary understated pink shade with a slight shimmer. It could also be used subtly as a finishing gloss over lipstick, strategically applied to the center of the bottom lip. I found its uses to be fairly versatile. The texture is nice, my lips stay moisturized, it's not sticky, doesn't bleed, and has decent staying power. It has an artificial watermelon scent that's not unpleasant. I'll probably keep it as a staple cosmetic item.
