Shampoo -Bath and Body Works - Bath and Body Works Signature Collection Volumizing Shampoo in Coconut Lime Verbena
thespacecowgirl 3/9/2011 1:21:00 PM
This stuff totally stripped my hair even though I hadn't washed it in over a day. It smells great, just like the Coconut Lime Verbena body products, but I can't be so cruel to my poor hair! I do want to try the moisturizing version, however. The packaging in the little travel size bottle I got sucks - the plastic is too stiff to squeeze the product out easily, and it won't stand upside down in the shower to get the last dregs out.

Polishes -Sinful - I Love You
thespacecowgirl 2/26/2011 4:17:00 PM
A warm-toned purple with lots of tiny hot pink glitter. Pretty, if not the most exciting shade in my collection. Like most Sinful polishes, it's too sheer - I'm still not satisfied with the opacity after 4 coats. It also began showing tipwear rather quickly, within a day or so. The Sinful cap/brush is very slippery and not terribly ergonomic, making fine brushstrokes a little difficult at times. Sinful polishes also lack "balls" to help the polish mix when shaken. 2/US$3 on sale @ Walgreens.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea Body Spray
thespacecowgirl 2/26/2011 4:12:00 PM
Starts out gently tart and fruity on me, very gradually drying down into a soft, inoffensive floral. My current fruity fragrance of choice, standing in for the Simply Basic Raspberry Vanilla body mist I can't find currently. It lasts surprisingly long for a body mist - I can still smell it on myself at the end of the day, however faintly.

Fragrances -Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Manila
thespacecowgirl 2/24/2011 2:03:00 PM
An imp I bought on a whim due to the name has become my HG fragrance, what I wear when I truly feel like myself. This is not a light or delicate scent. It's simply magnificent - a tropical floriental that's rich, warm, deep, and just sweet enough to be undeniably feminine. In my imagination, Manila evokes a forgotten ancient temple deep in the jungle, overgrown with flowering vines. The topnotes are a thick, rich white floral - if you've ever been to the tropics, you'll recognize the scent of tropical flowers lingering heavy in the humid air. The middle, and the most intriguing part of the fragrance to me, is a wet wood scent that gives the impression of a tropical rainforest with only the faintest hint of a green note, something that usually doesn't come across well in fragrance anyway. The base is a rich, dark, damp earth smell. I do smell artificial banana in the vial, but no fruitiness of any kind once it's on my skin. I notice that this scent isn't popular, so I think I lucked out with my psycho body chemistry here. The scent lasts forever - sometimes I can actually smell it on myself after a shower, and I love the way it lingers on my clothes, sheets, etc. Application from the bottle (which has no dropper mechanism of any sort) is sort of annoying, but I just use a single cotton swab until it falls apart to get the most out of the oil. True love, and definitely worth US$15.

Fragrances -Bodycology - Body Mist in White Gardenia
thespacecowgirl 2/14/2011 8:06:00 PM
It smells like REAL GARDENIAS. Creamy, spicy white floral, although a lot of the spiciness is lost in the drydown. And it lasts for at least six hours. I'm in love.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Ed Hardy Born Wild
thespacecowgirl 2/13/2011 10:27:00 PM
A nice enough, not-too-young-smelling fruity floral. It isn't too fruity; the base is a very solid floral without being overpowering. It has a cleanness to it that's pleasing. It doesn't have much lasting power, though - only a couple of hours. It's not a bad scent, but nothing interesting enough to wear more than once.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - True Religion For Women

Hey everyone! Another overly astringent, slightly fruity green "floral!" I could swear I've smelled this 200 times. Wait, that's because I have. Never mind. No lasting power either, which is fine by me.

Polishes -Sinful - Love Nails
thespacecowgirl 2/9/2011 6:23:00 AM
This is the prettiest color, a slightly pearly warm, bright blue teal/deep turquoise. Like most Sinful polishes, it's rather sheer - it took 3 coats to look right on even my current nubbins. This shade is so pretty, though. The Sinful cap/brush is very slippery and not terribly ergonomic, making fine brushstrokes a little difficult at times. Sinful polishes also lack "balls" to help the polish mix when shaken. 2/US$3 on sale @ Walgreens.

Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in #568 Bronze Berry
thespacecowgirl 1/20/2011 3:13:00 PM
On my dark pink pigmented lips, this is a rather shimmery, slightly peachy-pink MLBB. It's fairly sticky, which I like in a gloss, and so has quite a bit of lasting power even over balm - it hangs around for 30 minutes or so or until I eat. The doe-foot applicator picks up a lot more gloss than you might expect, and so it only takes one application to cover my bottom lip. Cons: It's a bit drying even over balm (though my lips recover quickly after I take it off and apply more balm), and I don't love the perfume-y vanilla scent - I actually liked the old cheap candy scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Bodycology - Brown Sugar Vanilla Body Cream
thespacecowgirl 1/17/2011 10:10:00 PM
This is a close dupe for BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar, but not exactly. It has a definite brown sugar scent that dominates the vanilla, and a hint of not-overpowering muskiness. The cream itself is surprisingly thick, and takes a bit of effort to squeeze out of the tube and rub in, but it's very moisturizing and leaves my skin nice and soft. I find it to be the perfect hand and nail cream - I love to massage a big dollop of it in while watching TV, and it really makes a difference for my cuticles. Great product, especially for the price.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - White Citrus shower gel
thespacecowgirl 1/16/2011 7:23:00 PM
A grassy, zesty citrus scent. It reminds me of White Tea & Ginger, but with the emphasis on the citrus rather than the ginger. Lathers up and cleanses well without being drying, although I tend to use more product than is really needed. The regular-size bottles will stand upside down in the shower to get the last drops of product out, but the minis don't.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Twilight Woods
thespacecowgirl 1/14/2011 9:18:00 PM
I get the "woods" part, but that's pretty much only the topnote. There's something sweet, slightly fruity, and almost gourmand, like cotton candy, that makes up most of the scent. Light and sweet, but still mysterious and a little smoky. I do like this scent, but find it overly sweet after awhile. The body mist doesn't have much lasting power (just a couple of hours), while the EDT has excellent lasting power, well over 18 hours; however, I think this is more suitable as an all-over scent (body mist).

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Moonlight Path EDT
thespacecowgirl 1/14/2011 9:14:00 PM
A hazy lavender and woody scent that's fitting on older women and unexpectedly old-fashioned and sexy, like a corset, on younger women. It's not as strong as some of the other BBW EDTs and stays very close to the skin, lasting about 12 hours. The bottle is just beautiful.

Polishes -Sinful - Snow Me White
thespacecowgirl 1/4/2011 1:39:00 PM
Matte true white, more opaque than NYC little Italy, but chips so quickly (within several hours). The Sinful cap/brush is very slippery and not terribly ergonomic, making fine brushstrokes a little difficult at times. Sinful polishes also lack "balls" to help the polish mix when shaken. 2/US$3 on sale @ Walgreens.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy in Lavender
thespacecowgirl 12/29/2010 7:22:00 PM
True lavender, so rare in bath and body products. Layers beautifully with Moonlight Path EDT. It doesn't absorb totally and continues to feel a bit sticky after applying, but not enough to be really bothersome. I bought this for my grandmother as part of her Christmas gift, and I believe I use it almost as often as she does!
